Qing Tian’s mind was a bit hazy. What did it mean to keep things with a hint of mystery, to let the story continue?
Was it about them? Would they see each other again after tonight?
After the performance, the audience immediately erupted in thunderous applause and cheers. The Man in Black, holding Qing Tian’s hand, led her out of the venue through the throng of people.
Qing Tian was placed into a convertible sports car by the Man in Black. As soon as she sat down, the Man in Black leaned over and carefully fastened her seatbelt.
She happened to smell that familiar jasmine scent again. Despite her curiosity, she dared not probe further.
She feigned a calm demeanor, looking straight ahead. Before she was ready, the Man in Black slammed on the accelerator. Qing Tian sped off with the wind, her scattered hair dancing freely, her heart racing along with the car’s speed.
Qing Tian didn’t know where the Man in Black was taking her, only that tonight had been truly interesting.
The car stopped by the seaside. This was Qing Tian’s first time seeing the sea at dawn. The sea breeze was strong, messing up her hair. She reached up to brush away the strands blown by the wind. The night sea breeze carried a chill, and she unconsciously rubbed her arms. The next moment, a warm suit jacket was draped over her shoulders.
She was startled by this sudden thoughtfulness, and for some reason, her nose stung. Someone accustomed to not being cared for would feel grateful and moved when someone genuinely treated them well, but more than that, they would feel a pang of sadness.
The two walked in the strong wind, all the way to the seaside. At night, the sea looked like an expanse of ink in the distance. She stood on the beach, and just looking at it made her heart surge with the rhythm of the waves.
Qing Tian forced her tears back and said with a smile, “It’s so beautiful. The sea at night is like a beautiful piano melody.”
The Man in Black smiled against the light and said, “It truly is like a beautiful melody! And you are the most important note in this melody. The sea is most beautiful with you in it!”
Faced with the Man in Black’s sudden heartfelt words, Qing Tian’s face flushed. She was glad it was night, so he couldn’t see any change in her expression.
She happily ran closer and closer, wanting to run straight into the sea. She did indeed walk into it, and when the seawater touched her feet, Qing Tian realized how real it all was. She had thought all this beauty was like a dream she would soon wake from, but the cold seawater told her it was all real.
The Man in Black on the shore said something to her. The sea breeze was strong, and the sound of the waves was loud, so she couldn’t hear him. She only saw him walk towards her under the moonlight: “Just stand here and look, don’t go into the sea.”
His suit jacket was draped over Qing Tian. He was wearing a white shirt, which looked so charming and handsome in the moonlight. Qing Tian thought that if her heart hadn’t already belonged to someone else, she might have fallen for this mysterious, cool man who always warmed others. In a flash, a wave suddenly surged, and she was lifted around the waist.
Water crashed over them the next second, soaking his shoes, but she remained untouched by the sea.
She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, and behind his neck, she tightly gripped her left wrist with her right hand.
Their noses touched, and in the next moment, it was as if they were about to merge into one.
His deep eyes were right before her, but partially obscured by his mask. A sudden impulse surged within Qing Tian, wanting to reach out and remove his mask.
But she was too nervous, so she could only continue to grip her wrist tightly, pretending to be composed, pretending she wanted to do nothing.
The Man in Black, Ji, was about to say something when he suddenly stopped. He felt the softness of her chest against him, rising and falling with her nervous breath.
He paused for a moment, took two steps back, intending to put her down, but found she had wrapped her arms around his neck again.
He reached out to take Qing Tian’s hands and led her towards another part of the beach. As he walked, he stepped on a seashell. He bent down to pick it up and looked at it under the moonlight in the dark.
Qing Tian also curiously leaned over to look. For a moment, the Man in Black felt that the scene of Qing Tian leaning against him, looking at the seashell in the moonlight, was so beautiful. It was so beautiful that he didn’t want to break this harmonious and wonderful moment.
The sound of waves crashing against stones echoed from afar. In the silent night, the dark sea was so beautiful….
