Chapter 74: Ji Weiwei’s Secret
Chapter Seventy-Four: Ji Weiwei’s Secret
Qing Tian stood by the sidelines watching Ji Xiangyu and his teammates happily cheering for their victory. While she was happy for Ji Xiangyu, she felt inexplicably sad, unsure of how things would unfold for her and Xia Yang after she publicly revealed their relationship tomorrow.
Ji Xiangyu saw Qing Tian standing by the sidelines watching him in the crowd. He smiled gently at her from afar. The smile was so familiar and warm, yet Qing Tian felt it was so distant, beyond her reach.
When Ji Xiangyu walked over to Qing Tian, she felt uneasy. She saw Ji Xiangyu’s originally smiling brows furrow and then he crouched down, sighing, “How could you be so careless? You’re hurt. Does it hurt a lot?”
Qing Tian shook her head. Then she realized that she was standing and Ji Xiangyu was crouching, so he couldn’t see her actions at all. She said, “It’s fine, this little pain is nothing!”
Ji Xiangyu affectionately blew on the wound. Qing Tian only felt a coolness on her knee. That faint coolness seeped into her mind and body, making her feel that the pain was truly insignificant.
Unexpectedly, Ji Weiwei ran over at this moment and pulled Ji Xiangyu away. Ji Xiangyu helplessly broke free from Ji Weiwei’s grasp and said with a slightly stern tone, “Weiwei, you’re becoming more and more impolite!”
Ji Weiwei said aggrievedly, “Brother Yu, you never used to be harsh with me. You’re scolding me again and again for this woman. Is this woman more important, or am I, your blood-related sister, more important!”
Qing Tian stood awkwardly to the side, watching Ji Weiwei throw a tantrum at Ji Xiangyu.
Ji Xiangyu rubbed his forehead and patiently comforted Ji Weiwei, “Weiwei, you and Qing Tian are not comparable at all. You will always be my good sister, and I will always love you dearly as a brother. Please stop targeting Qing Tian, okay?”
Ji Weiwei’s expression immediately soured as she said, “No way!”
After speaking, she glanced sideways at Qing Tian and then said fiercely to Qing Tian, “You can leave now. Aren’t you happy seeing me and Brother Yu arguing?”
Qing Tian shook her head and tried to explain, “I didn’t…”
Ji Weiwei looked at her aggressively and said, “Stop pretending. You’re just like Song Shishi. I want you to disappear from my sight immediately, now, right away!”
Qing Tian sighed deeply and said to Ji Xiangyu, “I’ll wait for you!”
Qing Tian thought Ji Xiangyu must have seen the note she left him. Before leaving, she glanced at Ji Weiwei, feeling utterly speechless and helpless towards this woman.
Ji Weiwei smugly watched the dejected Qing Tian leave. In a great mood, she linked arms with Ji Xiangyu and said, “Brother Yu, let’s go home. Uncle and Aunt are both home today!”
Ji Xiangyu, in a bad mood, packed his things and walked away silently. Ji Weiwei’s mood was unaffected. Thinking that Ji Xiangyu would stand Qing Tian up made her happy: Hehe, Qing Tian, just keep waiting! By tomorrow, Brother Yu won’t even come to see you!
Upon returning to the Ji Family Mansion, they indeed saw Ji Junhua and Li Mei sitting on the sofa in the living room, discussing Grandfather Ji’s upcoming art exhibition. As the current sole heir of the Ji Family, Ji Junhua was very filial to the old master but had never taken over the Ji family business, instead pursuing his musical dreams. Grandfather Ji didn’t blame Ji Junhua; although he was old, he could still manage many things.
As soon as Ji Xiangyu entered, he went straight upstairs. Ji Weiwei, on the other hand, happily threw herself into Li Mei’s arms and pouted, “Auntie, you’re back! I missed you so much. When you were gone, Brother Yu was mean to me. I’m so pitiful!”
Li Mei lovingly stroked Ji Weiwei and asked, “Is that so? Then how should Auntie deal with Brother Yu for our little princess?”
Ji Weiwei had a flash of inspiration. “Hehe, I think it’s best to find Brother Yu a beautiful and talented girlfriend. He’s just going through adolescent angst. Plus, many people at our school have ulterior motives towards Brother Yu. Especially a girl named Qing Tian, she’s so worldly. Not only did she instigate a fight between Brother Yu and Brother Xia, but she also made them fight at school. It’s simply…”
Grandfather Ji, hearing Ji Weiwei whispering in Li Mei’s ear, immediately stopped her, “Weiwei, your Auntie just got home. You shouldn’t say things that will upset her!”
Ji Junhua saw Li Mei’s expression also change for the worse at the mention of Xia Yang. He then advised, “Weiwei, why don’t you go check on your Brother Yu? We adults have something to discuss!”
Ji Weiwei pouted and walked away aggrievedly, but she felt a little smug inside. Her objective had been achieved, so it didn’t matter if she left.
After Ji Weiwei left, Grandfather Ji coughed and said, “Li Mei, don’t listen to Weiwei’s nonsense!”
Li Mei was a sensible woman. She smiled kindly and comforted the elder, “Dad, I’m fine. You don’t need to worry. As for Xia Yang, I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve lived most of my life, and those past events are in the past!”
Grandfather Ji nodded, hoping Li Mei could see this fact clearly.
Ji Xiangyu returned to his room and took out the chocolate Qing Tian had given him. He noticed signs of it being opened. Upon opening it, he saw that one piece of chocolate was missing. He recalled who might have opened the packaging and, by elimination, thought of Ji Weiwei.
He put down the chocolate and went to Ji Weiwei’s room. He opened the door and didn’t see Ji Weiwei. Instead, he saw a scene: countless intimate photos of Song Shishi and Li Minghao were spread across Ji Weiwei’s desk. On each photo, Song Shishi’s face was circled and crossed out with a large red marker. He suddenly felt uneasy, not expecting Ji Weiwei to be so crazy as to secretly take photos and then develop them to do this. He picked up a photo, and on the back were written several large characters: “You are mine!”
Ji Xiangyu immediately felt something was wrong. Ji Weiwei had never targeted Song Shishi specifically, but she had done many bad things to Qing Tian. Was she projecting all her hatred onto Qing Tian?
Just then, Ji Weiwei walked into the room. Ji Xiangyu immediately put the photos back in their original positions.
Ji Weiwei was surprised to see Ji Xiangyu in her room and asked, “Brother Yu, what are you doing here?”
Ji Xiangyu casually made up a lie, “My pen ran out of ink. I came to see if you had a spare one!”
Ji Weiwei didn’t think too much about it and took out a bottle of ink from the drawer, saying, “Here’s an unopened one. Take it!”
After Ji Xiangyu left, Ji Weiwei looked at the photos on the desk with pain. Then she looked back at the closed door and gazed thoughtfully at the photo that had fallen on the floor.
