Chapter 77: A Different Kind of Kiss
Chapter Seventy-Eight: A Different Kiss
During the morning exercises, Qing Tian was completely out of sorts. After the gymnastics ended, the current Chairman of the Student Union began to speak on stage.
“Fellow students, today is the day to fulfill the bet from yesterday’s match. Our First High School upholds the principle of keeping our word, fairness, and justice. Rules are rules and must be followed. Therefore, I now represent all students to preside over the follow-up to yesterday’s match!”
The crowd below applauded enthusiastically, eager to watch the show. Qing Tian, as the heroine, looked uneasy. She tried to find Ji Xiangyu in the crowd, but instead saw Xia Yang looking at her. Xia Yang smiled at her, making it seem as if there was something going on between them!
Qing Tian turned her head away and continued to look at Class One’s formation. However, after looking through it several times, she still couldn’t see Ji Xiangyu. Could it be that he didn’t come to the morning exercises? Why?
She looked at Ji Xiangyu’s class with confusion. Xia Yang watched her as she spaced out. Qin Hailan glared at Xia Yang and Qing Tian, her anger igniting her entire being!
At this moment, the flag-raising ceremony began on the rostrum. Several people carrying the red flag marched with military steps towards the rostrum. When the familiar national anthem played, Qing Tian felt a cold sweat run down her back, feeling as if she would vomit blood and die on this summer morning!
She had thought that she, like the protagonist in a television drama, would be saved by a Prince Charming at the last moment. However, her hero seemed to be Xia Yang, not Ji Xiangyu!
So, the person you eagerly anticipate will not appear at the last moment like they do in television dramas.
She looked dejectedly as the red flag reached the top and fluttered in the wind. She then heard the speech from the rostrum again, but she couldn’t take in a single word.
She was pushed down the steps by someone from her class. Xia Yang extended a hand, inviting her to go on stage together. This punishment was clearly a benefit. For Xia Yang, this was a very good opportunity. Perhaps afterward, Qing Tian’s eyes would no longer be solely focused on Ji Xiangyu.
Everyone in the audience watched the two people on stage with rapt attention. It had to be admitted, they did look quite well-matched standing together.
Apart from Young Master Ji’s fans and admirers, the vast majority of the women in First High School were followers of Xia Yang. Those female fans watched Xia Yang being so gentle with Qing Tian!
Although they were dissatisfied with Qing Tian in various ways, they were looking forward to the heartwarming scene that was about to unfold.
Qing Tian looked at the dense crowd of heads below with vacant eyes. Then, looking at Xia Yang, who was smiling at her, she didn’t know what she was feeling.
Xia Yang said softly, “Qing Tian, after today’s event, I will be responsible for you until the end. Don’t worry too much!”
Hearing this, Qing Tian felt it was familiar. Did men just like to use phrases like “responsible until the end” to trick girls? Ji Xiangyu had said the same thing last time, that he would be responsible. But was her relationship with Ji Xiangyu truly one of responsibility now?
The answer was undoubtedly no!
She closed her eyes. Since her first kiss had already been given to Ji Xiangyu, what did it matter if Xia Yang kissed her now? Nothing was important anymore!
Xia Yang looked at Qing Tian, who had closed her eyes, thinking she also had expectations for him. He immediately grabbed Qing Tian’s shoulders and slowly leaned his head closer. The crowd below held their breath, anticipating along with Xia Yang’s speed.
When Qing Tian opened her eyes, Xia Yang’s lips were only 0.000001 millimeters away from hers. With such a short distance, Xia Yang stopped. He saw tears flowing from the corner of Qing Tian’s eyes, a single drop, enough to make him stop. He couldn’t guess the meaning of this tear. His intuition told him that Qing Tian was unwilling!
However, if the promise wasn’t fulfilled publicly today, Qing Tian and he would be subject to gossip later. He didn’t want Qing Tian to suffer harm from public opinion!
Qing Tian closed her eyes again, and the tear flowed down her cheek to her lips.
Xia Yang gently wiped away the tear tracks on Qing Tian’s cheek and whispered in her ear, “Don’t cry anymore. I will do my best to protect you from now on. Believe me, Qing Tian!”
As soon as Qing Tian opened her eyes, Xia Yang kissed her. However, the kiss didn’t land on her lips. Xia Yang’s thumb covered her lips, completing the final action with this feint!
Qing Tian’s eyes widened, she looked at Xia Yang in disbelief!
The two of them looked at each other above the crowd.
However, many people in the audience had their hearts broken.
The next moment, Qing Tian was pulled by someone and fell into a familiar embrace. That familiar scent, it was so reassuring! Was this the sense of security that women always pursued?
