Chapter 135: Who Is Your Daddy?
Boating on the lake is pleasant in both spring and summer.
In spring, tender green buds emerge from the weeping willows along the riverbanks, and lotus leaves begin to sprout in the lake.
Everything seems new and refreshing.
Summer is when plants and leaves are most lush, and lotus flowers are in full bloom, making the scenery beautiful.
Early autumn is also pleasant, but as the weather gradually cools later, it becomes bleak, and not many people venture onto the lake in the cold.
It’s fine now; there are withered lotus flowers on the lake, and a few water birds are swimming.
Several boats are drifting slowly on the lake, and Qin Wanwan and the others can hear the sound of string and wind instruments playing.
Someone stands at the bow of a boat, composing poetry loudly.
A few children lean over the edge of the boat, looking around.
A large, snow-white bird lands on their boat.
The imperial princes exclaim in surprise.
“What a beautiful big bird!”
The Tenth Prince said, “I know, I know! This is a Sea-Eastern Green. A certain country on the grassland presented one to Imperial Father before, but it didn’t survive. The bird refused to eat and starved to death.”
Sea-Eastern Greens are majestic, and the one raised by the little Qilin is even larger than an ordinary Sea-Eastern Green.
Its eyes are very lively and sharp.
“This is my companion, Snow Flower.”
Qin Wanwan introduces them.
Yin Yuanli stares at Snow Flower for a few seconds, “Did this hatch from those two eggs?”
Qin Wanwan nods, “Brother Yuanli, you still remember! Both eggs hatched. One is Snow Flower, and the other is Eagle Boss. Eagle Boss is as big as I am, but he can’t fly yet. I’ll take you to see him when we go back.”
“Nonsense, how can there be a bird that big?”
The Tenth Prince does not believe it.
His Imperial Father has a menagerie with some eagles and falcons, but he has never seen one as big as a person.
He just thinks Qin Wanwan is exaggerating.
Qin Wanwan humphs, “You’ll know when we get home and I show you.”
There are musicians on their boat; this is a service provided by the large boat.
However, the little brats don’t appreciate it and want to play other games while listening.
For example, they see an old man fishing on a small boat not far away.
He actually catches a fish.
Then the little princes clamor to fish too.
There are dried fish and bait on the boat.
The children sit in a row, dropping the dried fish in their hands into the lake.
Others fish quietly, afraid that too much noise will scare the fish away.
How can children really be quiet?
Except for Yin Yuanli, of course.
He is very focused. The Tenth Prince chatters and crowds around him to talk. Yin Yuanli purses his little lips and pushes his head away.
“Quiet, I’m fishing.”
The Tenth Prince asks, “Why do I need to be quiet to fish?”
“Because you’re too noisy, and the fish will be scared away.”
The Tenth Prince replies, “Then the fish is too timid, it has nothing to do with me.”
While they are talking, Qin Wanwan’s fishing rod moves.
Qin Wanwan stumbles as a fish in the water pulls her.
Yin Yuanli hands his fishing rod to his younger brother and immediately helps the little Qilin hold onto her rod.
The Tenth Prince excitedly exclaims, “Caught a fish! Hurry and pull it up.”
The Eleventh Prince says, “Let me, let me! Everyone move aside, I’m strong, let me do it!”
The Twelfth Prince looks confused and lifts his fishing rod.
Why doesn’t his have a bite?
The children are all talking at once, busy with a mess, but no one knows what they are busy with.
Finally, the fish is pulled up a bit with their effort.
“It’s so strong!”
It’s a big fish, and a big fish struggles with even more strength.
Just as they were about to ask an adult for help to reel the fish in, Snow Flower flies towards the fish.
Its two claws grab the big fish’s body and fly towards the boat.
The fish is still struggling, but Snow Flower’s strength is not small.
It can even catch a wild rabbit.
Finally, it successfully brings the fish onto the boat.
“Snow Flower is amazing!”
Qin Wanwan is overjoyed, jumping up and down to clap and praise Snow Flower.
The imperial princes imitate her, also jumping up and down and clapping.
Snow Flower lets out a proud cry and lands next to Qin Wanwan.
Qin Wanwan takes out a handkerchief to wipe its claws, and then it spreads its wings and lands on her arm, standing carefully.
Qin Wanwan is wearing thick clothes today, so it’s fine for Snow Flower to stand carefully on her arm.
“Chirp chirp~”
Snow Flower nuzzles Qin Wanwan’s head, making the little princes envious.
Raising a Sea-Eastern Green seems very impressive.
“What a clever Sea-Eastern Green! Sell this Sea-Eastern Green to this young master for one hundred taels of silver.”
A strange voice interrupts the children’s conversation.
Several tender little eyes look over.
They discover that a boat of similar size has also arrived next to theirs without them knowing.
That boat is much livelier than theirs.
A young man, dressed ostentatiously as if he wanted to shout ‘I’m expensive and rich’ on his forehead, waves a fan.
This is actually fanning himself, unlike Qin Wanwan’s Daddy who uses a fan to block weapons for show.
Qin Wanwan asks, “Who is he?”
The other children shake their heads in unison, “We don’t know.”
“Are we taking this fish back to eat? Quickly put it in a water bucket so it doesn’t die.”
Yin Yuanli says, “Don’t touch it. It smells strongly of fish and is hard to wash. Let the servants on the boat handle it.”
The ignored young man looks displeased.
“Kid over there, I said I want to buy your Sea-Eastern Green, did you hear me!”
Qin Wanwan tilts her head, “My Snow Flower isn’t for sale. You should leave quickly.”
Before the young man can speak, his followers start arguing.
“Child, don’t refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a penalty. It’s your good fortune that our Young Master Li fancies your Sea-Eastern Green. One hundred taels of silver is already a lot. Greed will not end well.”
Qin Wanwan replies, “You’re so annoying. I’m a child, I don’t drink wine.”
“Little sister, it’s just a Sea-Eastern Green. Where are your adults?”
Another person walks out from inside the boat, someone Qin Wanwan knows.
It’s that bad guy, Lin Wan’e.
Lin Wan’e is staring at Qin Wanwan’s clothes, “Your clothes are quite special. Who made them for you?”
Qin Wanwan looks at her warily, “What business is it of yours?!”
After saying that, she glares at her.
The young man impatiently says, “Go and snatch that Sea-Eastern Green for me.”
How arrogant.
Several of his thugs immediately head towards Qin Wanwan’s boat.
Yin Yuanli puts his hands behind his back, his little face serious and imposing, “How dare you!”
The thugs don’t even reach them before the Imperial Chancellor’s guards and the Imperial Palace’s Dark Guards appear.
In just a moment, some of the thugs are thrown into the lake, and others are thrown back onto their boat.
“Do you know who I am?!”
Having lost so much face, the young man’s face turns ashen as he starts to boast about his father.
Yin Yuanli looks at him indifferently, “Who is your father?”
Just as the young man is about to speak, a voice interrupts, “Ninth brother, Little Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth, why are you here?”
