Chapter 114: Codename Seventy-six
Originally, the boy planned to help out for a while, then go home and find some other job.
The shop was busy with people coming and going, and a few new technicians had arrived. One of them was very young, six years younger than the boy. She wore glasses and looked very steady.
Her code name in the shop was Seventy-Six.
One afternoon, when the boy was resting, he was lying in the lounge scrolling through his mobile phone and found that Seventy-Six had posted on Moments.
The boy commented, “What are you doing?”
Seventy-Six replied, “Nothing, just wandering around Middle Street.”
“Who are you with?” the boy continued to ask.
“Just myself.”
“Then I’ll come find you?”
“Come on over.”
“If I come, will you treat me to a meal?”
“Sure.”
Hearing this, the boy, without another word, changed his clothes and went to find Seventy-Six. Then he really had Seventy-Six treat him to a hot pot meal.
After eating, the boy took Seventy-Six to the mall to catch dolls. Because the boy was very good at catching dolls, he would always catch a few every time he played. He caught a cute white puppy and a small white bear for Seventy-Six.
Since Seventy-Six hadn’t worn her glasses out, she almost bumped into people or electric poles while walking.
The boy consciously took her hand.
The next evening, the boy asked Seventy-Six out again and treated her to dinner. Although the boy was mischievous and shamelessly had Seventy-Six treat him to meals, he never owed anyone and paid her back.
After dinner, back at the shop, the boy asked Seventy-Six to clean his ears and deliberately asked if Seventy-Six liked him, otherwise why would she let him hold her hand.
Seventy-Six shyly said, “Yes, I like the boy a little bit. I feel like the boy is awesome. He does everything properly, and his singing is especially good. During any activity in the shop, when the boy sings, he is very charming, and everyone’s eyes are on him.”
After hearing Seventy-Six’s admission, the boy smoothly replied, “Haha, I like you a little too. How about we start dating?”
And so, the boy started dating his second partner after a few years.
After the two had been together for a week, the boy hadn’t done anything out of line. It was just that when some of his colleagues invited him for drinking, they asked him about Seventy-Six.
One can imagine, when a group of men get together, what do they talk about? Nothing serious, they just blabber about trivial matters.
Knowing the boy hadn’t touched Seventy-Six, saying he wasn’t the type or whatever, then why hadn’t he touched her if they were already dating?
The boy explained, “I don’t want to be so casual. Either we don’t date, or we date properly. I want to understand first.”
Afterward, he was again ridiculed by several people.
Later, the boy thought about it and agreed. If he didn’t touch his partner while dating, and then she ended up with someone else if they broke up, wouldn’t that be too awkward?
The next evening, the boy invited Seventy-Six out to eat. They each drank two bottles of beer.
The boy said, “Let’s not go back tonight, let’s stay out.”
Seventy-Six shyly said, “That wouldn’t be good, would it? We’ve only been dating for a week…”
Seeing this, the boy laughed heartily and casually said, “Okay then. But from now on, let’s just be friends. Because I have a quirk: when I date someone, they have to let me stay over. If they don’t let me stay over, then I won’t date them.”
Seventy-Six didn’t say anything, just laughed.
After eating, the boy and Seventy-Six walked towards the shop, because most people were staying at the shop at that time.
The boy didn’t overthink it. Since they weren’t going to get intimate, being good friends from now on wouldn’t be too bad.
Because he was scared. He was truly scared. One instance of giving his true heart in exchange for harm had left him unable to recover for years.
Who knew that when they reached the shop’s doorway, Seventy-Six said, “What if we don’t go back?”
Hearing this, the boy was stunned for a moment, then he happily led Seventy-Six to a nearby hotel and got a room.
After entering the room, both were a bit shy. The boy said, “Should I turn off the light?”
Seventy-Six softly replied, “Okay.”
After turning off the light, the boy stripped himself bare and held her.
He intentionally asked Seventy-Six, “Are you hot?”
Seventy-Six said, “No.”
The boy thought, “Is it okay if you’re not hot? If you’re not hot, how the heck am I supposed to continue?”
Hehe smirked and said, “How can you not be hot? I’m hot, so you must be hot too. Let me help you take it off.”
Seventy-Six…
After a period of sweaty, panting, and passionate union, the two were considered to be truly together.
However, the boy wasn’t putting his whole heart into Seventy-Six at this moment, only about half, because he was very afraid of repeating the same mistakes.
But even if it’s only half, to others it’s already super good. Not to mention adding clothes for them when they’re cold, or sending food when they’re hungry and drinks when they’re thirsty, it’s about the same.
When the boy was young, he often bought gifts for Seventy-Six, and Seventy-Six also bought gifts for the boy. How to put it, the two of them were very good to each other.
As time went on, both of them started dating, and everyone in the shop knew about it. The store manager sister also heard about it.
By rights, there are regulations in this industry that employees cannot date each other.
But because the boy got along very well with all his colleagues at the shop, and his relationship with the store manager was particularly close.
After the store manager sister asked the boy, the boy told the truth. The store manager sister specifically asked the shopkeeper for instructions, and then gave the boy a privilege, which was the first person in this industry to be approved by the shopkeeper and allowed to date colleagues during meetings.
This made the others extremely envious, and at the same time, it made the others give the boy a thumbs-up, secretly saying to the boy, “Awesome!”
After three months of getting along, suddenly one day, Seventy-Six told the boy that she was going to Korea to study and asked if the boy could wait for her to return.
The boy asked how long he would be gone, and Seventy-Six said at least six years.
Upon hearing this, the boy was dumbfounded. Six years, that’s six years. Who can say how much change could happen in that time?
Even if he himself didn’t change, he was still afraid that Seventy-Six would change, or that after Seventy-Six returned, they wouldn’t end up together. Then what would these six years mean?
The boy was very reluctant to part with Seventy-Six, and asked if Seventy-Six particularly wanted to go.
Seventy-Six told the boy about her family situation. When Seventy-Six was young, her father made a mistake and went to jail. Then her mother remarried and had another daughter. After her father got out, he remarried again and had another daughter. She was raised by her grandmother at her paternal uncle’s house. From childhood, she did laundry and cooking at her paternal uncle’s house. Even her paternal uncle’s son, who was her brother, had his underwear and socks washed by her grandmother’s instruction, for fear that others would dislike her for eating without working.
Later, after Seventy-Six grew up, she went to Singapore to find her mother. Her mother also worked there, and she learned the craft there and saved tens of thousands of yuan. Then, after she returned to China, her mother wanted her to go to school and added some more money herself to enroll her in a school in Korea, paying for one year of tuition. She would have to earn the rest of her living expenses and future tuition by working while studying there. She really wanted to go.
The boy did not want to break Seventy-Six’s dream because of himself, so he said to Seventy-Six: “I can’t promise that I can wait for you, but I am even more unwilling for you to give up your dream because of me. I think you should go. Otherwise, what if you regret it in the future? A person only lives once, so try not to have regrets if you can.”
Seventy-Six did not want to have any regrets, so she decided to go to school. But she needed to go home first to get her father’s signature. This matter required parental signatures, and her mother had already signed, leaving only her father’s signature needed.
