Pei Yuzhou taught Meng Shuyou to fire a few shots, then let go and let her try by herself.
Meng Shuyou held the pistol with both hands, closed one eye, and aimed ahead.

A friend smiled and asked her, “Haven’t seen you out for a while. What have you been busy with?”

She got a headache just thinking about it. The company had been having one problem after another lately, the whole family atmosphere was gloomy, she and Zhao Yunrui kept arguing, and what she worried about most was that the marriage alliance would be affected.

“Meng Shuyou has nothing. She can’t make any waves.”
After going home, Meng Yan grew more and more upset the more she thought about it. Why was she frazzled at home while Meng Shuyou was having a great time out there.
That evening, she deliberately waited until Meng Zhenhua came back and complained to him. “Dad, it looks like Meng Shuyou has a boyfriend out there. The internship is just her excuse. Her Moments show her traveling and hanging out with men. No wonder she didn’t come back during summer vacation. She doesn’t even care about her older sister anymore.”
Meng Zhenhua had just come back from the company, full of exhaustion, already in a bad mood, his face dark. “Is what you’re saying true?”

Meng Zhenhua couldn’t suppress his anger, veins bulging on his forehead. “Rebellious girl! Should never have sent her abroad to study!”
Meng Yan offered an idea. “Dad, how about cutting off her living expenses? Don’t pay her tuition either. See if she doesn’t give in.”
Meng Zhenhua sat on the sofa and lit a cigarette.
That was indeed a way, the only way to force Meng Shuyou to obey.
Meng Yan thought for a moment and added, “Dad, just that won’t be enough. You have to cut off Shu Man’s medical expenses too. Then Meng Shuyou will fully compromise.”
Meng Zhenhua took a drag on the cigarette and exhaled a smoke ring. “Do as you say.”

Back in the hospital room, there was an unexpected guest.

Meng Yan looked displeased. “This is a hospital. Why are you making noise?”
Aunt Xue looked at her warily. “Miss Meng, what are you here for?”
Meng Yan raised her hand to admire her new manicure. “I’m here to notify you that starting next month, you won’t need to come take care of Shu Man anymore.”
Aunt Xue was stunned. “Why?”
“Why else? The Meng Family pays you, but you’re helping Meng Shuyou, so just ask her for your wages. The Meng Family won’t hire you anymore.” Meng Yan sneered. “Oh, and Shu Man’s medical expenses, ask Meng Shuyou for those too.”
Aunt Xue was shocked. “You’re going too far with this.”
“This is too far? Shu Man isn’t Meng Family to begin with. My dad only helped out of kindness because Meng Shuyou was obedient. Now she’s deliberately going against the family. Why should we keep helping her?”
