Chapter 83: It’s You I Love
Xie Jingyan was the first to furrow his brows: “Who’s calling who a servant?”
Wei Jin glanced at him: “Besides you, who else? Sister Ning said you’re the servant she keeps. With your appearance, it’d be a pity not to be a male model.”
Xie Jingyan raised his brow faintly: “You’re the male model. I’m an upright person.”
Wei Jin pursed his lips, then looked at Jiang Ning: “Jiang Ning, I want to be your dog. Give me an opportunity.”
Jiang Ning blinked her eyes, somewhat torn: “I have no money left.”
She still owed Xie Jingyan 110,000 in debt, so where could she find the means to keep another person?
Jiang Ning regretted it deeply in her heart. She hadn’t managed to torment Xie Jingyan at all, yet he made her furious every day.
Wei Jin winked at her, his smile flamboyant: “I’ll do it for free.”
At the corridor entrance, Jin Yuanyuan called out: “Brother Jin, it’s your turn on stage. Hurry up.”
Then he unexpectedly saw Jiang Ning there too and waved happily: “Sister Ning, you’re here too? Are you here to cheer for our Brother Jin?”
Cheer?
Jiang Ning was a bit puzzled.
Wei Jin unscrewed the mineral water in his hand and drank it all in one go, tossing the bottle into the nearby trash can.
He suddenly grabbed Jiang Ning’s wrist: “Come with me. I’ll treat you to a show.”
Then he pulled Jiang Ning along without another word.
“Hey!”
Jiang Ning looked back and signaled Xie Jingyan and Meng Xingcan: “You two follow.”
Xie Jingyan’s deep gaze fell on the hand Wei Jin was using to hold Jiang Ning.
After a long moment, he finally shifted his eyes away, his tone cold and disdainful: “Tch!”
Meng Xingcan looked at him contemptuously: “Spineless.”
Xie Jingyan: “…”
Meng Xingcan strode forward: “Hmph, can’t even keep an eye on one person.”
“Older sister, wait for me.”
Meng Xingcan jogged to Jiang Ning’s other side and took her hand.
Xie Jingyan: “…”
He ignored the discomfort in his heart.
He shook his head, casting the displeasure aside, and resumed his usual cold demeanor, striding calmly after them.
Jiang Ning looked up at Wei Jin.
He wasn’t the same type as Xie Jingyan or Gu Lanli.
If Xie Jingyan was cold snow, and Gu Lanli was roguishly handsome.
Then Wei Jin was like his name, flamboyant and brilliant like fire.
“Why is your face so pale?” Jiang Ning asked.
“Makeup.” Wei Jin replied, his handsome face smiling: “Do you like pretty boys?”
A black line slid down Jiang Ning’s forehead: “I don’t.”
“Then I won’t wear it next time.”
Jiang Ning: “…”
The group went to the Zero Degree dance floor on the first floor.
This should be backstage.
It wasn’t crowded like the front.
Wei Jin led Jiang Ning to the frontmost VIP spot, with the stage right in front.
Behind them, people were squeezing in, and quite a few held colorful glow sticks, making it seem quite real.
“I’m the resident singer at Zero Degree Bar, probably performing three times a week.” Wei Jin suddenly handed Jiang Ning a glow stick: “When I sing, you have to cheer for me.”
Wei Jin went on stage.
Cheers suddenly erupted below: “Woo-hoo! Wei Jin! Wei Jin!!!”
Jiang Ning glanced over and saw lots of female fans.
She hadn’t expected Wei Jin to be so popular at the bar.
Because of the atmosphere, Jiang Ning also started feeling happy.
She waved her glow stick and shouted along: “Wei Jin!”
Wei Jin turned his head toward her direction.
Even though it was dark all around with only stage lights flashing, Wei Jin spotted Jiang Ning’s sparkling eyes at first glance.
Wei Jin couldn’t help laughing out loud and made a heart gesture toward Jiang Ning.
As expected, screams erupted from the audience: “Aah! Wei Jin! So handsome!”
Xie Jingyan had been frowning since they entered, his ears numb from the noise, not understanding what was so great about it.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ning was excitedly waving her glow stick.
He found it a bit glaring.
He had never seen her smile at him so happily.
Wei Jin held the microphone, the stage lights flashed, and the music started.
He said: “Here’s ‘The One I Love Is You’ for you, dear girls.”
“Aah!”
The accompaniment melody began.
Wei Jin’s pleasant, flamboyant singing voice rang out.
“No matter where I go, I can’t stop thinking of you.”
“Darling, no one in my heart is more beautiful than you.”
“Want to softly sing do re mi.”
“Compose a melody for you.”
“Let the stars unravel the mystery in the fairy tale.”
“Oh my god, I’m already in love with her.”
…
“Wei Jin! Wei Jin!! Wei Jin!!! I love you!!! Aah, so good!”
On stage he sang, below the crowd cheered wildly.
In Jiang Ning’s eyes, Wei Jin shone brightly on this small stage, making her heart surge too.
Jiang Ning waved her glow stick, smiling happily and shouting loudly: “Wei Jin, Wei… mmph mmph.”
Her mouth was suddenly covered.
She struggled a bit and looked up to glare at Xie Jingyan.
Then she bit his finger hard, making him hiss in pain.
With the music deafening, Jiang Ning still heard his soft chuckle: “Jiang Ning, are you a dog?”
Jiang Ning wiped her mouth with the back of her hand: “Why did you cover my mouth!”
He leaned in closer.
He lowered his head, his soft black hair mingling with Jiang Ning’s.
He whispered in her ear: “Shh, be quiet. The kidnappers are nearby, still looking for you.”
His breath was warm, carrying a fresh soap scent, making Jiang Ning’s earlobe itch.
She couldn’t help touching it, wanting to push Xie Jingyan away.
But the people behind were squeezing too hard.
Xie Jingyan lost his footing and fell right into Jiang Ning’s arms.
Jiang Ning’s whole face was pressed against his chest. She finally turned her head to breathe fresh air: “I almost suffocated. Can you not stick so close?”
Xie Jingyan frowned slightly, glancing at the shoving crowd behind with his peripheral vision.
He could only hold Jiang Ning to keep them from falling.
He sighed faintly: “I don’t want to either, but Wei Jin is too popular. He has so many female fans, oh.”
Jiang Ning: “…”
She turned her eyes and sure enough saw the two kidnappers disguised as passersby heading their way.
There were also quite a few undercover police searching behind them.
They didn’t alert them, afraid these two would harm others.
Jiang Ning immediately shrank her head into Xie Jingyan’s embrace.
Her hands tightly hugged Xie Jingyan’s waist, pretending to be a sweet couple embracing.
Xie Jingyan’s body stiffened, his heart throbbing slowly and heavily.
It was so noisy around with cheers and music so loud.
But Xie Jingyan could only hear his own heartbeat, uncontrollable, thump thump.
The next second, Jiang Ning grabbed his hand and hurriedly pulled him through the crowd to leave: “We can’t stay here. There are so many people. What if those two see me and go berserk, hurting bystanders?”
Xie Jingyan didn’t resist at all. He grabbed Meng Xingcan with one hand and obediently followed Jiang Ning.
Sensing something, he turned to look at the stage.
The lyrics happened to reach: “I want to love, love, the one I love is you, cute girl.”
His eyes met Wei Jin’s exactly.
Xie Jingyan raised his brow, his beautiful peach-blossom eyes curving slightly, aloof yet amorous.
He mouthed two words silently:
“Mine.”
