Chapter 26: King Kong! Looks Unbeatable Just Staring At It
Ge Bai was stunned and hadn’t figured out how to respond yet.
On the nearby bench, a baby-faced burly man who was sitting and resting had an expression like he wanted to say something but hesitated.
He had listened to the entire conversation between Ran Cai Jiao and Ge Bai.
“Senior Sister! Are you planning to call Gang Zi to battle with her? That seems a bit inappropriate.”
He spoke hesitantly while giving Ge Bai meaningful glances, signaling her to look at the battle arena in the center.
Ge Bai raised an eyebrow and looked over following his gaze.
In the center of the venue, a Silver Armor Vajra with all black fur was sparring with two gibbons.
The Silver Armor Vajra’s fur was glossy and shone black like satin, with ancient silver armor embedded in the fur on its back, giving it a strong sense of power.
The battle on the field was heating up.
A brown-furred gibbon pounced forward, wrapping its arms tightly around the left side of the Vajra’s arm.
Its legs were in a strangulation stance, tripping the Vajra’s left leg, trying to use a wrestling technique to trip him down.
The Silver Armor Vajra didn’t flinch, channeling spiritual power to its legs, steadying its horse stance and securing its lower body.
With a side turn, its huge, thick right hand like a palm-leaf fan grabbed the gibbon’s shoulder.
It yanked him off its left shoulder fiercely, lifted him high with one hand, and slammed him heavily onto the arena with a loud bang.
Even though the gibbon wasn’t much smaller than the Vajra in size, the scene was still quite shocking.
“Ooh, ooh.”
Quite a few ape-like spectators around the venue cheered at the sight.
The watching Beast Tamers also applauded one after another.
At the same time, on the other side, a gray-furred gibbon immediately leaped forward.
Its body was slightly larger than the previous brown-furred gibbon, but still half a head shorter than the Vajra.
Unlike before, it actively lowered its center of gravity, steadily wrapping its arms around the Vajra’s waist, and exerted force fiercely, trying to backdrop the Vajra.
The Vajra let out an angry roar, slightly bending its knee joints.
Ge Bai couldn’t help but marvel that this Silver Armor Vajra’s lower body stability was terrifying.
The gray-furred gibbon gritted its teeth and tried several times but couldn’t successfully backdrop it.
The Vajra seized the opportunity, clenched its right fist, gripped its right wrist with its left hand, and struck downward heavily with its right elbow.
It smashed ruthlessly onto the gray-furred gibbon’s back, and the gibbon hugging the Vajra’s waist fell to the ground accordingly.
Ge Bai watched with cold sweat breaking out.
This Silver Armor Vajra was undoubtedly an Adult Body.
Moreover, from the spiritual power fluctuation when it exerted force just now, its spiritual power level was at least First Order medium, plus the Vajra’s unique monstrous strength…
It wasn’t that Ge Bai looked down on her own Big Willow; the current Big Willow really wasn’t up to it.
Thinking this, she stiffly turned her head and looked straight at Ran Cai Jiao.
Pointing over there, she asked, “Is that Silver Armor Vajra your Pet Beast?”
Ran Cai Jiao looked over there with a proud expression.
“Yeah, it’s my contract Pet Beast, called Gang Zi.”
Ge Bai was somewhat surprised; Ran Cai Jiao looked about the same age as her, so how could she have contracted an Adult Pet Beast?
Ran Cai Jiao was probably not seeing such surprised looks for the first time and explained naturally.
“Gang Zi grew up with me from a young age; he’s 19 years old this year too. His mother is my dad’s Pet Beast.”
This was a family-bred Pet Beast.
Ge Bai had heard of such cases.
A family contracting Pet Beasts of the same bloodline for several generations in a row would result in much higher compatibility between the Beast Tamer and Pet Beast in battle.
But like Ran Cai Jiao, contracting after living together for over a dozen years, wasn’t very common.
This Martial Arts School had deep heritage.
“19 years old? So are you still in high school?”
Ge Bai noticed Ran Cai Jiao’s age.
This fiery little loli looked much younger than her age; if not mentioned, she really thought they were about the same age.
Ge Bai even looked a bit more mature.
“Yeah, I’m in senior year of high school at Jinggang No. 1 Middle School.” Ran Cai Jiao nodded. “The post said you’re at Chongming Junior High this year; are you planning to apply to our high school?”
“I watched your battle video with the Porcupine Beast; you should be able to get in through special recruitment.”
Ge Bai didn’t avoid her predicament and shook her head.
“Just getting in probably isn’t enough; I need to get into the top three and get a scholarship.”
“No problem, there’s still a month left, so go for it!”
Ran Cai Jiao was straightforward.
While the two were chatting, the battle with the Silver Armor Vajra Beast over there also came to an end.
“Gang Zi, come here, over to this side.” Ran Cai Jiao called loudly.
“Ooh!”
The Silver Armor Vajra Beast roared, walked over leisurely with a pigeon-toed gait.
Ge Bai felt a bit awkward.
“My Weeping Ancient Willow and I just contracted; he’s only learned skills for a couple of days, and his spiritual power is only Zero Order Second Level.”
As she spoke, with a thought, she opened the Spirit Plant Cultivation Atlas.
[Type: Weeping Ancient Willow]
[Spiritual Power Value: Zero Order Third Level (17/300)]
“Hmm, Zero Order Third Level.”
Spiritual power had leveled up in just over a day?
This speed was heaven-defying anywhere; even with space dormancy and skill tempering helping spiritual power growth, her own Weeping Ancient Willow’s aptitude was quite good.
But even at Third Level, Ge Bai was clear-headed and said sincerely.
“No matter how you look at it, it’s not enough to withstand a punch from your Gang Zi.”
At this time, the Silver Armor Vajra had already sat cross-legged behind Ran Cai Jiao, curiously sizing up Ge Bai and the Spirit Plant on her shoulder.
Its gaze swept over Big Willow and lingered a bit longer on Little Peach.
Gang Zi took a deep breath and secretly swallowed.
After all, as a trained Adult Body Spirit Beast, it could tell this was a Spirit Plant in humanoid form.
Being this close, it really smelled sweet and fragrant.
Ran Cai Jiao leaned against the Silver Armor Vajra casually, not noticing its little actions, and frowned in thought.
“You have a point.”
As if thinking of something, she propped herself on Gang Zi, turned back to look around for a moment, and shouted.
“Zhang He, you come battle.”
It was the baby-faced young man who had just interjected to remind them, but now he was completely blocked by the Silver Armor Vajra.
Hearing Ran Cai Jiao call him, he was very surprised.
He tilted his head, poking out half his body from behind the Silver Armor Vajra.
“Me? Senior Sister, you can’t do this; I’ve already sparred three times this morning! Mission accomplished!”
Zhang He jumped up at once, full of reluctance.
“Cut the crap.”
Ran Cai Jiao put one hand on her hip and pointed at Zhang He with the other, full of momentum.
“Either battle the Weeping Ancient Willow, or battle Gang Zi; you choose.”
Zhang He wilted immediately and muttered softly.
“No need to choose; battling Gang Zi isn’t sparring, it’s getting beaten.”
He dawdled over to this side.
Ge Bai had sharp ears and heard Zhang He’s muttering; she raised an eyebrow—her own Big Willow was being treated like a soft target?
Seeing Zhang He subdued, Ran Cai Jiao was finally satisfied and introduced Ge Bai enthusiastically.
“Zhang He is a new student who just joined our Martial Arts School this month.”
“His Pet Beast is a Flat-topped Bear Macaque, spiritual power level Zero Order Level 5; you should be about even.”
Zhang He had dawdled over by now, standing beside the two, and interjected.
“Hi, I just watched your video too; my Mi Xiong is way stronger than that Porcupine Beast.”
Ge Bai looked at him with a half-smile. “Great, please give me some pointers.”
Thinking this, Ge Bai glanced down at Big Willow on her shoulder.
“Liu Gu!”
“Bai Bai, don’t worry; I’ll do my best!”
Big Willow got especially excited at the mention of battle, as expected.
The two didn’t chat more and headed straight to opposite sides of the arena; after Ge Bai recalled Little Peach to her Spiritual Consciousness Space, she hopped onto the stage.
Flipped through the monkey, ape, and gorilla illustrated handbook for a long time.
