Chapter 61: Vegetables
Shi Zhen Guang and An Yun were discussing Shi Mu Guang’s previous actions with him, then they saw An’an’s pet quickly enter the house. Turning to look, they saw An’an coming out with seeds and scattering them on a piece of open space.
“What is An’an doing?” Shi Mu Guang craned his neck to look.
Shi Lele saw An’an’s things and excitedly ran over. “An’an is going to accelerate growth on the seeds again.”
Hearing this, Shi Mu Guang hurriedly followed; he wanted to see it with his own eyes.
Shi Mu Guang and An Yun also followed.
They saw Shi An’an scatter the seeds into the soil, then sit down and close her eyes.
Everyone stared intently at Shi An’an. Shi An’an’s face twitched, and she opened her eyes. “Otherwise, why don’t you all come over and take shelter?”
“?” Shelter from what?
They didn’t understand, but they obediently walked to the corridor.
Then they saw Shi An’an close her eyes again. The earthworm didn’t move and continued wriggling beside Shi An’an.
“Patter patter…”
A gentle drizzle fell from thin air. When the rainwater fell, the air was exceptionally fresh and comfortable.
The green plants in the yard also seemed especially delighted, shaking their heads and wanting to catch more rainwater.
“This… Xiao Xiao turned on the rainwater device?” Shi Mu Guang looked suspiciously at the sky.
“No.” Shi Zhen Guang looked at his daughter in shock; he hadn’t expected his daughter to have this ability too.
“Quick, look!” Gao Jin Xiao exclaimed softly.
Everyone looked over and saw that the seeds Shi An’an had just scattered were now sprouting one by one, growing rapidly.
Shi Mu Guang rubbed his eyes; the shock on his face couldn’t be contained.
“Ah, I know, this is Chinese cabbage!” Shi Lele recognized one of them.
“This is radish?” An Yun asked uncertainly.
“Yes.” Shi Zhen Guang nodded and looked at the others. “This is tomato, that one is cucumber, and that one is chili pepper…”
Shi An’an had planted only three of each vegetable.
“This strawberry smells so good!” Gao Jin Xiao was also full of shock. She had cultivated strawberries before, but never ones this red and fragrant.
Unbeknownst when, the rain had stopped.
The green plants in the yard seemed completely refreshed, the air filled with the fragrance of various plants, and spiritual energy filled the entire yard.
Shi An’an opened her eyes. “Alright, they’re all ripe. I’ll stir-fry a few dishes for you, but they’re all vegetarian.”
“Oh… okay!” Everyone came back to their senses.
Shi An’an stood up to pick the vegetables.
“Wait!” An Yun stopped her daughter. “Let Mom take a picture first before picking!”
Shi An’an stopped. “Okay.”
An Yun quickly took photos of the vegetables and fruit in front of her and sent them to the group chat.
Mom Shi: “Today An’an grew so many vegetables. Tonight An’an says she’ll stir-fry a few for us to eat, hahahaha…”
Shi Mu Guang came back to his senses and also quickly took photos of each vegetable, very carefully.
Gao Jin Xiao looked disdainfully at her son’s dawdling, then turned to look gently at her granddaughter. “An’an, can Grandma pick a strawberry?”
Shi An’an nodded. “Sure, pick whatever you like. I have plenty more here.”
As Shi An’an spoke, she took out several pots of strawberries from the space button, each pot laden with tempting strawberries.
Gao Jin Xiao couldn’t wait and picked one to pop into her mouth.
“Mmm…, it’s so delicious!” Gao Jin Xiao had never eaten such delicious strawberries; the fruit flavor was rich, sour and sweet, too tasty!
An Yun also walked over and picked one. “So sweet!” Instantly, her taste buds were captivated by the strawberry.
“Dad, hurry up. I need to help Sister An’an pick vegetables!” Shi Lele urged from the side.
“Alright, alright!” Shi Mu Guang finished taking photos and picked a strawberry to eat. “Wow, it’s really delicious!”
“Husband, try this.” An Yun picked one and handed it to her husband.
Shi Zhen Guang ate it. A comfortable warm current slid into his stomach, and then he clearly felt a pleasant energy spreading through his body.
He looked at his eldest brother and mother and saw no unusual reactions in them. Shi Zhen Guang guessed it might be due to his body, making the sensation more pronounced.
Shi Zhen Guang now thought of his eldest brother’s decision again. It seemed that An’an going to H11 planet might indeed be a very good choice.
Shi Anlei had just gotten off the starship when he saw the picture his mom posted in the group chat.
Shi Anlei immediately replied in the group chat, “Wait for me, I’m heading home right now!!!”
“Minister, I need to take leave. I’m going home!” With that, he quickly boarded a nearby aircraft and left.
“Huh? What’s up with that kid? Wasn’t he fine just now?”
“No idea, he suddenly said he needs to go home…”
The others at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs looked puzzled at Shi Anlei leaving.
“I’m heading home tonight. Handle the rest yourselves. If there’s anything, wait until I return tomorrow.” Shi Anyu took off his white coat and left the research institute.
“???” The room full of researchers stared blankly at Engineer Shi leaving.
Shi Anshan was out of luck and could only wail in the group chat.
Oh, and Shi Anfeng who was out on a mission, but he had no time to check messages right now…
Shi Anxin was also very envious, but unfortunately their department wouldn’t let them leave school. Sigh…
“Second Child and Third Child are coming back for dinner, so let’s wait for them.” An Yun happily told everyone.
“Okay, then we’ll wait for them to return before eating.” Gao Jin Xiao decided, then happily went to pick chili peppers again.
An Yun and Shi Zhen Guang watched his eldest brother and niece happily picking vegetables. “How about we go to H11 planet with An’an.”
An Yun suddenly said.
Shi Zhen Guang was stunned and looked at his wife, his gaze full of disagreement. “You’ve only been back at work for a few days. Better not. Wait for another opportunity later…”
An Yun shook her head. “These few days back at work made me realize many things are different from before.”
“People have changed; they’re not as sincere as before.” An Yun thought of her previous colleagues, who had all been promoted. Meeting them again, it was full of false pretenses, which she couldn’t adapt to.
“There’s more work too, too many trivial things, all formalism, no real work. Sigh…”
Thinking of these days’ work, An Yun sometimes wondered if it was because she had been away for five years and couldn’t keep up with everyone’s pace.
Shi Zhen Guang hugged his wife. “If you feel it’s not good, then don’t go. Wife, follow your heart. I support whatever you do.”
An Yun leaned on her husband’s shoulder. “I’ll think about it some more.”
“Okay.” Shi Zhen Guang hugged his wife tighter. Thinking of his wife’s earlier expression, he narrowed his eyes. It seemed he hadn’t shown up for a long time, making those people think they could bully his wife at will. Hmph.
“Alright, pick this much for now. We’ll pick more when we want to eat later.” Shi An’an took the picked vegetables and headed to the kitchen.
“Sister An’an, I’ll go with you.” Shi Lele happily followed behind Shi An’an.
