Chapter 46: General Manager Change
That night, Fan Ren and Jin Qiaoying talked a lot.
Don’t misunderstand, the conversation didn’t go too deep.
In short, from this day on, the general manager position at Xinghai changed to Jin Qiaoying.
And Fan Ren was demoted from general manager to the Technical Department, becoming a Technical Department head.
Perhaps this is the benefit of a wholly owned company. To a certain extent, Xinghai is Fan Ren’s one-man show, and personnel appointments only need his personal nod to proceed directly to the next process.
No one up and down the entire Xinghai Technology company raised any objections; the personnel change of the general manager was like a stone sinking into the sea, without stirring up a single ripple.
When Liu Jun knocked on Fan Ren’s office door, he even sighed, “Even the office hasn’t changed hands.”
Fan Ren looked up at Liu Jun, then continued to bury his head in focusing his energy on the design of the new factory.
But this time, he was only responsible for the main body design; the other categories were handed over to the Technical Department, to be completed by those technicians who already had one learning experience in the relevant category designs.
Liu Jun handed over a document. Fan Ren glanced at it, then stopped his work at hand, took the document, and started reading it.
“All the battery production factories of Deli Electric Power around Linhai are here; the factory facilities are all relatively basic and outdated.”
Liu Jun mentioned it and sat down opposite him.
Fan Ren nodded; he finished reading the document quickly.
5 battery manufacturing plants, with total productivity roughly three times that of Xingyun’s plant.
Accounting for about 15% of Deli’s manufacturing battery productivity.
“You go negotiate the price, use patent authorization to offset it. Whenever the patent fees for the batteries they manufacture are offset, then sign a formal patent authorization cooperation agreement anew.”
Fan Ren closed the document, handed it back to Liu Jun, and stated his opinion.
“You’re letting them off easy.” Liu Jun was somewhat unwilling. By his personality, he wouldn’t give Deli even a single patent authorization; he’d want to watch Deli Electric Power slowly die.
Fan Ren shook his head with a smile and said, “A skinny camel is still bigger than a horse. Being able to do this is already good; the rest can come slowly later. Moreover, this should be enough to hurt Deli’s bones.”
Hearing this, Liu Jun smiled and didn’t mind anymore.
He knew this was his own shortcoming: being too hot-headed.
Except at the beginning when he wanted to prove himself to his father by pushing high-voltage radio everywhere, at that time he would force himself to rein in his bad temper.
Now seeing Xinghai thriving, it was hard for him to go back to that version of himself.
Fan Ren quite understood him. If not for the system’s boost, giving him more expectations for the future, perhaps at this point he would also start enjoying life leisurely.
But this was also something Liu Jun had expressed before: he truly had no confidence to continue managing the increasingly large-scale Xinghai Technology.
“Alright, we’ll do as you say. That old guy Ye Hongzhi is probably in for tough days back at headquarters this time.”
Once Liu Jun thought it through, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“After all, he is a Deli shareholder, and no matter what, it’s just his subordinates messing up; he’s just responsible for cleaning up the mess. At most, he’ll have to give up some resources at headquarters. Really going after him isn’t very realistic.”
Fan Ren stated his view, then added, “But this is already very good. After all, the 10 billion loss is truly coming out of his own pocket.”
Hearing this, Liu Jun burst out laughing loudly.
Fan Ren thought for a moment, then said, “Send this to General Manager Jin and ask for her opinion. After that, unless it’s something particularly important to the company, hand everything else over to her side.”
Hearing this, Liu Jun couldn’t help but give Fan Ren a thumbs up.
He knew that the newly appointed China District general manager of San Xin was furious.
Jin Qiaoying joining Xinghai Technology as general manager was practically slapping his face repeatedly.
Originally, after Jin Qiaoying returned to China, she could have taken an inconspicuous idle position at headquarters, and in a certain sense, it could be said to company employees as a ‘promotion’ to motivate them.
But her joining Xinghai directly caused the reputation of Jin Ze and San Xin Headquarters to plummet.
After all, Jin Qiaoying’s abilities over these years, and her contributions to San Xin, were obvious to all.
Yet such a capable person was pushed out by the so-called successor sent by the family.
How could this not make the company internals panic and feel sympathetic?
As a result, Jin Ze was now putting all his energy into internal company rectification, while maintaining the original cooperative attitude toward Xinghai, without time to deal with it.
After Liu Jun left, Fan Ren called Zeng Yingying in.
“General Manager Fan, did you call me for something?”
Zeng Yingying still had that big housekeeper demeanor; after coming in, she casually emptied Fan Ren’s ashtray and refilled water in his cup.
“Sit, sit quickly. These things are for the cleaning staff; it’s not your turn to clean.”
“Hee hee, habit, General Manager Fan. Right, what did you call me for?”
Fan Ren smiled without refuting, then said, “It’s like this: arrange a place to live near the company for General Manager Jin. Oh right, for me too, arrange a house not far from the company. Sleeping here all day isn’t a thing.”
Zeng Yingying nodded upon hearing this, indicating she understood. Then her eyes darted around.
“Together?”
“Huh?”
Fan Ren was puzzled, then saw Zeng Yingying’s expression clearly carrying some unhealthy implication, and quickly shook his head with a smile.
“What are you thinking? Like this: appropriately upgrade the level for General Manager Jin’s place, and don’t forget the service staff. For me, keep it simple; the closer to the company the better. I just want convenience for work; any place I can sleep in is fine.”
Hearing this, Zeng Yingying stuck out her tongue, somewhat unhappy: “There are plenty of places to sleep; you’re Xinghai’s chairman, how can we arrange it casually.”
Fan Ren didn’t want to dwell on this issue and changed the topic: “What about you? Still living with Liu Xinyue and Xu Min?”
Zeng Yingying nodded, somewhat curious why Fan Ren asked this.
“Just asking casually, caring about employees, you know. What about home? Is Cui still urging you to go back and get married?”
“Oh, I thought you didn’t care about home stuff. Now besides asking me for money, they don’t call me. Thanks, General Manager Fan.”
Fan Ren smiled and shook his head, ignoring her wild guess earlier, and said, “No need for all the ‘you’s; we’re university classmates. Being too polite makes us distant. Also, your work ability is obvious to all; no need to say these things. Alright, go get busy.”
Not exaggerating, in the past six months, Zeng Yingying had done a lot of life secretary work for him; from a certain angle, he should be the one thanking her.
In the evening, after Zeng Yingying got off work and returned home, she called Xu Min into her room.
“I’ll tell you some good news; don’t get too excited first.”
“Huh? What’s up?”
Xu Min curiously sat on the edge of her bed. Lately, occasionally borrowing Zeng Yingying’s cosmetics was already good news to her; she couldn’t think of what good news there could be for her.
“The car upkeep and procurement matters for our company that I mentioned to you a while ago.”
Hearing this, Xu Min’s beautiful eyes immediately lit up.
Xinghai, where Zeng Yingying worked, had quite a reputation lately; Liu Jun’s name was already spreading among classmates.
Liu Xinyue even regretted her initial rashness from time to time.
And because Zeng Yingying held the position of Logistics Supervisor at Xinghai, she had already discussed procurement and upkeep matters with her a while ago, just needing a price that could pass muster.
Otherwise, she couldn’t justify it on her end.
But these weren’t issues; after Xu Min told her supervisor, the supervisor immediately said price wasn’t a problem. Whatever discounts other stores could give, their 4S store could match, telling her just to negotiate.
“It’s settled?”
Zeng Yingying nodded, then her face became conflicted.
Xu Min saw it and immediately looked panicked; was there a mishap?
Originally, Zeng Yingying planned to keep Fan Ren’s matter hidden forever, but today Fan Ren called her over and inexplicably mentioned it.
Only then did she belatedly realize that even if Fan Ren wasn’t deliberately asking about these things, at least it showed he couldn’t treat her like a stranger.
She thought about it for a long time; no matter how these two ended up in the future, at least she couldn’t get involved, so she decided to directly tell Xu Min about Fan Ren’s identity.
To avoid any accidents later where neither side would end well for her.
“You’ve learned about Xinghai Technology already, right?”
Xu Min shook her head upon hearing this, then quickly nodded: “A bit, what’s up?”
Zeng Yingying sighed.
“Xinghai is Fan Ren’s company; it’s his personally wholly owned and held company.”
At these words, Xu Min froze in place.
