Chapter 58: Qinggang Industrial, Hand Behind The Apocalypse!
Old San looked at the snake body that was several times thicker than a water tank and swallowed hard.
Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard a familiar whooshing sound from the distance.
Old San turned his head and saw a black dot the size of a rice grain on the horizon rapidly expanding, with the buzzing sound growing louder and louder.
When that thing fully revealed its form, Old San blurted out, “Helicopter!”
The passengers in the rear carriages erupted in cheers even faster than them.
Even more intense and enthusiastic than when Su Huan took down the White Snake.
After all, the former only meant they could survive today, while the latter might take them back to that civilized world of order and dignity in their memories.
“Impossible…” Su Huan’s throat bobbed as he stared at the logo on the helicopter, his pupils trembling, looking like he had seen a ghost, even more distraught than when he saw Mo Jiang.
“Train Conductor, could that helicopter be the military’s?”
Old San completely ignored Su Huan’s expression and asked excitedly.
As the helicopter was about to fly over their heads, Old San suddenly felt his fine hair scorching, and he abruptly turned his head.
“Sizzle sizzle—”
A visible cold blue electric arc appeared in Su Huan’s hand, like a long sword or the fire spear he had thrown earlier, the electric light illuminating his silent face in a cold white glow.
“Old Four, you…”
Old San was shocked, and his form of address changed.
A fierce light flashed in Su Huan’s eyes, and he hurled the lightning spear in his hand directly at the helicopter in the sky.
The electric light instantly flashed across three hundred meters, but it couldn’t reach the helicopter at over a thousand meters in high altitude.
It could only fizzle out with a short explosion sound in mid-air.
Like muffled thunder on a clear sky.
The helicopter seemed startled too, climbing higher, ignoring everyone on the train and flying off into the distance.
Su Huan had no intention of explaining. He rushed back into the sightseeing carriage in three strides, grabbing Yu Yue’s shoulder as she was deep in thought.
“What did they say? Tell me everything!”
Yu Yue was startled by Su Huan’s cold and fierce gaze. It was the first time she had seen him so distraught; even facing the powerful White Snake, he had been calmly confident and disdainful.
She tremblingly said, “The people on the helicopter?”
“Tell me word for word!”
Yu Yue didn’t dare delay and quickly recounted it. There were four lines of dialogue from the helicopter in total.
“That White Snake mutated beast was actually taken down by those survivors!”
“Looks like the previous beast tide was caused by them too. These people can be reported.”
“This evolution speed far exceeds estimates. I have to say, human potential… Wait, he’s attacking us?! This is twelve hundred meters high altitude!”
“Don’t worry, no evolver can attack us now.”
The carriage instantly fell silent.
“That’s all?”
Su Huan asked with a grim face.
Yu Yue nodded cautiously.
Seeing his expression, everyone sensed something was wrong.
Su Huan pulled out his personal logbook, drew a worker-shaped logo on it—the same as the one on the helicopter earlier—tore it off, held it in his hand, and looked around. “Has anyone seen this logo?”
Everyone shook their heads.
Su Huan’s complexion was indifferent. “Old San, take it down and circulate it through the whole train. Whoever knows the origin of this logo, bring them to see me. I’ll give them a permanent train ticket.”
Seeing this, Old San also realized the importance of the matter and hurried off to handle it.
Su Huan’s gaze swept over everyone’s faces, and he said coldly, “Liang Kuan and Xiao Ba are below. Yu Yue, repeat my next words to them.”
“Mo Jiang is our biggest obstacle. After crossing Mo Jiang, we won’t encounter too much trouble in the short term. For the next two days, the train must not stop, avoid going through city internals, and head toward Qingchuan Province.”
“Yu Jing, the first phase plan for the armored train continues under your responsibility for personnel scheduling.”
“Get the White Snake down. We’ll eat it for the next period, including the rear carriages—supply two days of snake meat and purified water.”
“Tell that Lu Xiao in the back not to be impatient. I’ll give him a chance.”
“You three, follow Yu Jing’s scheduling. Any problems now?”
Seeing Su Huan’s gaze sweep over, Old Da and Old Er immediately said solemnly, “We absolutely won’t drop the ball.”
Su Huan’s eyes darkened slightly.
His mind was a bit chaotic now, so he arranged the tasks while his brain was still clear.
The train’s direction could only be controlled by the train conductor.
The decision-making layer could have only him—Yu Jing, Yu Yue, even Xiao Ba could only be executors of his will.
As for the three brothers, they were perfect for guard roles.
Although with his current strength, he wouldn’t mind letting a Lu Xiao come forward, for someone with ambition, he had to place them in a position with competition.
Wolves are for pioneering, dogs for guarding the home.
Everyone has their own traits; it depends on how the superior uses them.
……
Carriage Number 1.
Su Huan squinted at Huang Hai’s fawning smile.
“You’re saying this logo is Qinggang Industrial’s company logo?”
Huang Hai glanced at the worker-shaped logo and nodded vigorously. “Absolutely correct. I took students on a field trip to their company. It’s one of the top companies locally!”
Su Huan frowned. “Wait, you’re a teacher?!”
Huang Hai smiled awkwardly and tugged at his tie. “I’m not talented, just an ordinary teacher at Mo Jiang University.”
“Aren’t you a mechanic?”
Huang Hai was stunned. “I’ve always been a teacher in agronomy. I’ve never taught mechanics.”
Su Huan’s eyelid twitched. No wonder the broken car he fixed exploded twelve times in a month. Damn it…
“You’ve already got your permanent train ticket. Go to Carriage Number 4 and pick a spot.”
Huang Hai’s face lit up with joy. “Thank you, Train Conductor. Thank you…”
“Get lost!”
Su Huan irritably waved him off.
Huang Hai quickly shut up and retreated out.
Once the door closed, the last trace of calm on Su Huan’s face vanished, leaving only endless gloom.
In his previous life, he had fled the high-temperature zone in panic, wandered for over a month, and witnessed a major force reclaiming a county town. Upon inquiring, he learned it was a force formed from recently gathered survivors, with a much better reputation than the Mojian Mutual Aid Convoy. After hesitating, he joined.
And this worker-shaped logo was the Steel Council’s logo!
Right up until two months before his death, Su Huan had been slaving for the company!
But today, just over ten days into the apocalypse, an organization that wouldn’t form until a month later was flying a helicopter right over his head!
In that instant, Su Huan didn’t know if he had been reborn or if his brain had gone haywire!
Looking at the crude logo on the paper.
Su Huan’s eyes deepened.
Combining the information leaked by the two on the helicopter.
Unless an entire force had been reborn with him.
Then the truth was only one.
These companies, or major forces, had long known about the apocalypse’s arrival!
They might even be the ones pushing the apocalypse!
