Chapter 39: Bullying With Power
Jiang He’s reputation was not limited to inside South Wind Academy; among the upper tier in South Wind City, it spread widely as after-dinner conversation.
Sun Fatty didn’t expect that this little brother in front of him actually had such a legendary growth experience.
“However, he is still a Second Order Professional. If you just toy with him a bit, there shouldn’t be any problem…” he reminded. “Little brother, you can’t really do anything to him, otherwise it will be very troublesome. His Research Department identity is also a protective talisman.”
“Alright, listening to big brother’s arrangement.” Su Chen complied smoothly.
If he could pry open Qi Chuan’s mouth, things would be much simpler.
Seeing that he wasn’t persistent, Sun Fatty finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Hmm… go with your new colleagues. They should be coming back right now. Having gotten collective honors, they should celebrate.”
“For the newly promoted Second Order Professional, I’ll follow secretly to avoid accidents.” Sun Fatty’s tone was very relaxed.
Sun Fatty led him downstairs to the guard hall. Here, three floors had been hollowed out, making it very spacious overall, full of Inspector Guards who had finished patrolling or were preparing to go out on patrol. The atmosphere was low and noisy.
Lounge 0512. Sun Fatty pushed the door open, and the excited clamor inside paused for a moment as several gazes looked over.
“Section Chief Sun…” One person stood up, shirtless upper body with many scars, sporting a buzz cut.
“Old Zhao, this is your new team member, Su Chen. Get to know him.” Sun Fatty stepped aside, revealing Su Chen.
“Su Chen, this is Zhao Xiong, your Patrol Captain.”
Zhao Xiong looked at him strangely, and the other six also kept glancing over.
Parachuted second generation. Everyone had received the notice yesterday and had been complaining about having one more freeloader.
As a result, this morning they inexplicably received a message to raid a black market den, and then inexplicably got a collective third-class merit.
There were smart ones among them who quickly realized this was tailor-made for that second generation.
Heaven-sent benefit, the resentment in their hearts naturally dissipated, and they were even quite grateful.
“Zhao Xiong, come over here.” Sun Fatty called Zhao Xiong away.
Su Chen stayed behind to say hello to his teammates: four men and two women. Except for Zhao Xiong who was a Professional, the others weren’t, but they weren’t ordinary people either.
“Lily, didn’t you say you wanted to repay with your body?” Someone teased, looking at the woman wearing a crop top tank. Bronze skin from years of strict training, muscles very toned, short hair to the shoulders, fairly pretty, heroic and valiant.
“Handsome, interested?” She wasn’t intimidated, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Enough, stop joking.” Zhao Xiong walked back and said gravely: “Temporary overtime shift. Change into gear and assemble in five minutes.”
Everyone was surprised, several gazes looking toward Su Chen. Realizing it might be related to him.
But no one said much, reopening their lockers and taking out gear.
“Su Chen, your combat uniform hasn’t arrived yet. No need to wear it today.” Zhao Xiong said.
Everyone was well-trained, changing in four minutes, boarding the patrol vehicle, and heading to the destination.
“Captain, what mission?” A scarred big man leaned over to ask.
They had already introduced themselves earlier, so Su Chen knew he was Han Da.
“Received news of a place possibly hiding contraband.” Zhao Xiong looked ahead.
“Oh.” Han Da thoughtfully shrank back.
Su Chen looked at the gradually darkening light outside the window. He hadn’t expected the victim to be a Second Order Professional, but he didn’t know what tier.
About half an hour later, they finally arrived at the destination: a high-end apartment. Dressed like this, they went straight up to the sixteenth floor.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
“Inspector Guard?” Qi Chuan opened the door, having already seen Zhao Xiong and the others through the peephole, seeming somewhat puzzled.
But after opening the door, he noticed Su Chen standing to the side, and his expression changed slightly. “Su Chen? It’s you!”
Su Chen smiled in response.
“Mr. Qi Chuan, we received a tip that your place may be hiding contraband. We’re here on orders for an investigation.” Zhao Xiong was meticulous.
“Contraband?” Qi Chuan’s face turned cold, staring fixedly at Su Chen.
“Make way!” Han Da roughly tried to push inside, shoving Qi Chuan, but stumbled back himself.
“You resisting!?” Han Da’s face was ugly.
“Make way.” Zhao Xiong said seriously.
Su Chen glanced at Sun Fatty who was faintly visible at the end of the corridor.
Qi Chuan’s face was ugly. He hadn’t expected that a small refugee back then could now use power to pressure him.
He knew why they were here and what would happen next, but he could do nothing and could only helplessly step aside.
“Lily, living room. Han Da, bedroom…” Zhao Xiong quickly issued orders. Everyone scattered, while he stood in the living room, staring at Qi Chuan.
“Tsk…” Su Chen looked around the room. Not small, very neatly kept, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the night view.
More importantly, there was a wedding photo of him and Jiang He hanging on the wall.
“You and Teacher Jiang really have deep feelings.” Su Chen sighed, standing in front of the wedding photo, stroking “Jiang He.”
Zhao Xiong’s mouth twitched. In someone else’s home, touching their wife’s photo… this was too…
Qi Chuan’s cheek muscles twitched, his face expressionless.
Su Chen’s hand left the photo, his tone full of emotion and nostalgia: “Your wife is very moist…”
Flames erupted in Qi Chuan’s pupils, and the room temperature rose instantly!
Zhao Xiong’s muscles tensed, and Lily, who was pretending to search nearby, widened her eyes.
But it was only for an instant. Qi Chuan restrained himself and became expressionless again.
Because Sun Fatty had appeared at the door. That body seemingly full of fat emitted a chilling aura, and the killing intent in those mung bean-sized eyes made Qi Chuan’s heart jolt.
Really patient… Su Chen thought it a pity. His current identity was different; if Qi Chuan really made a move, it would be assaulting an Inspector Guard, changing the nature entirely.
Sun Fatty could even kill him on the spot.
“Captain, found it.” Han Da walked out from the bedroom, holding a glass vial with a gorgeous pink flower inside.
“Poppy powder flower, hallucinogen, level one contraband. Your Excellency, please come with us.” Zhao Xiong said gravely.
Qi Chuan seemed to have expected it, just sneering as he cooperatively extended his hands.
The electromagnetic shackles locked tight, and the group returned to the Inspection Department, throwing him into the temporary inspection pod.
“…Hmm, he is a Second Order Middle Tier Professional—Fire Refining Soldier…” Zhao Xiong looked through the glass at the silent Qi Chuan, then lowered his head to the detection information: “Profession development progress probably less than 5%…”
“Su Chen, maximum seven days detention.” Zhao Xiong looked at the young man beside him.
“I know.” Su Chen nodded. “Can we keep starving him?”
“Must provide food, but as a Professional, his nutritional needs are high. We can provide low-nutrition meals, which is almost like starving.” Zhao Xiong said.
“Arrange it that way.” Su Chen left those words and turned to leave, deciding to come back in a few days for questioning.
“Captain, what does this second generation want? The punishment isn’t harsh.” Han Da sidled over slyly. “Want to add some spice?”
“Do as he said, don’t act on your own.” Zhao Xiong scolded.
Han Da nodded awkwardly.
