Chapter 143: The Degenerate Words That Tempt The Gods
The heart of Flawless Justice trembled because of the Omniscient Goddess’s words, but the Omniscient Goddess’s words were far from over.
Terrifying words filled with ambiguity continuously slipped from her beautiful lips, full of temptation: “How could the God King’s rule possibly do without you, the Embodiment of Order?”
“I perceive that Zeus is constructing an incomparably great plan, an eternal order far more sacred and perfect than the present. And you, my dear Themis, you are precisely the crucial, irreplaceable link in this plan.”
“You should know that Zeus’s love for you will only increase day by day.”
“Only by thoroughly and completely possessing you, the Origin of Order, can He quell that wildness and restlessness stemming from His divine origin, the origin that creates all and rules all.”
“And now, Zeus’s order is the most sacred and just order in this universe. My dear good sister, how should you face the God King you serve, this great and so attractive God King?”
The Omniscient Goddess’s series of words were like the most precise heavy hammer, striking one blow after another on Themis’s heart.
Her heart, which had always been calm and unwavering, absolutely calm and resilient, at this moment began to beat violently like a awakened fawn.
Zeus is attracted to her
With a crook of her finger, Zeus would be utterly enchanted by her.
But what about her?
As the essence of “Order,” how could she possibly not be attracted to this Ruler of the Universe who established everything, dominated everything, and ruled everything, this supreme sacred establisher, maintainer, and defender of order?
Zeus likewise has a fatal attraction to her, stemming from essence, from the depths of divinity!
If Zeus crooked a finger at her, she would probably faint even faster and more thoroughly than Zeus.
But as the Goddess of Justice, how could she, how could she possibly contend for a male god who already has a beloved?
She would only do what she should do!
And the most important and only thing she should do is to uphold His Majesty the God King’s Sacred Justice Order!
Nothing else besides that!
And she dares not have anything else!
Thinking of this, the upright and righteous Goddess of Justice seemed to instantly gain infinite power; she fiercely broke free from the “shackles” of the Goddess of Inspiration’s jade arms and said in a very serious tone: “Mnemosyne, you are not allowed to say these words that should not be said!”
“I will only do what I myself should do, and I will also advise His Majesty the God King to only do what He should do! His Majesty the God King, He already has the radiant Goddess of Wisdom!”
“Metis’s love for the God King is witnessed by all gods; her love is like the Ocean, infinite and endless! Her heart forever holds only the one God King, her divinity exists only for the God King!”
“And His Majesty the God King has already announced his beloved before the gods; the God King already has a beloved wife!”
Nowadays, the universe has no concept of marriage, let alone weddings.
The concept of husband and wife is that as long as one openly announces the other as one’s love, that is it.
If not announced, then it is a lover.
Even if all gods know, as long as it is not announced, it is not a wife.
But once a beloved is announced publicly and the other party acknowledges it, the two sides are a legitimate husband and wife, automatically forming a family, and all gods will acknowledge and respect it.
All gods around must respect the other’s spouse as they respect the other; both husband and wife also have the right to manage family affairs.
Lovers have no right to interfere in the other’s family affairs; it is only a physical relationship.
But forming a husband and wife relationship does not mean one can enjoy the other’s authority and power.
Husband and wife form a family relationship, sharing only family rights, not fully enjoying the other’s power and profit relationship.
Unless the other party announces that the spouse can share, there is no such power.
Mnemosyne heard Themis’s words and smiled silently in her heart.
See, she completely did not deny her true feelings for Zeus, merely using her noble, almost harsh divine character to forcibly shackle the already surging love and longing.
Now there is no clear definition of marriage; in principle, both male and female parties can announce multiple.
But because of divine arrogance, the default husband and wife relationship is generally one-to-one, and the rest are lover relationships.
If one insists on announcing one-to-many, it is very likely to cause big problems and also face repulsion from the gods.
Mainly repulsion toward the sharer, considering it a trampling of divine dignity.
Lovers, on the other hand, have no such concerns, because in a lover relationship, neither party owes the other any responsibility.
Mnemosyne carefree once again lightly pressed up, hugging the Goddess of Justice’s upright beautiful body, and laughed in a helpless yet knowing tone: “But, my dearest Themis, the God King’s divinity is like His essence, like the boundless Sky, infinite in vastness and breadth. He will never exist merely because of one goddess.”
As soon as the words fell, the Omniscient Goddess’s eyes, deep like black holes, stared straight into Flawless Justice’s eyes, brilliant as molten gold.
That was a color identical to God King Zeus’s.
She said in a flat yet extremely serious tone: “Themis, you know this very well, don’t you? You know, nothing can hide from me.”
“And I also know that likewise, nothing can hide from your sharp golden eyes that pierce all vain, right?”
“The focus now is no longer what you want to do to Zeus, but what the great Zeus wants to do to you.”
“Can you refuse Him?”
From the depths of the Goddess of Justice’s divine origin came a violent shock.
Her flawless white face was now solemn; her beautiful and sharp golden pupils seemed somewhat empty and lifeless at this moment, drifting into who-knows-how-distant thoughts.
After a long time, the Goddess of Justice who came back to her senses furrowed her eyebrows like sharp sword blades and gazed at the memory goddess before her, who had a calm demeanor.
She slowly, word by word, said: “Mnemosyne, you are indeed the Omniscient Goddess. But that does not mean I cannot see the thoughts you hide deep in your heart.”
“You have your freedom; how you want to entangle with Zeus, I cannot control you. But you telling me these things now, what is your purpose?”
The Goddess of Civilization narrowed her extremely spirited big eyes; her cunning demeanor now showed without any concealment: “My dear Themis, I came this time only to make you understand and ultimately accept your true self.”
“Also, to tell you a fact: our true lord of the Sky, He is destined to attract the gaze and admiration of all goddesses.”
“How many goddesses gaze at Him in secret, with your wisdom, you know.”
“And our great God King His Majesty, He is also destined to be an emotionally abundant God King who blesses all directions, destined to be a ‘Great Father God’ adored by countless.”
Mnemosyne once again pressed to Themis’s ear, murmuring in a voice only they two could hear, carrying endless temptation, as if to pull Justice into the Abyss: “I just want to tell you that in this destined situation, only if we sisters are united can we… occupy more oh~~~”
Before the words finished, the Goddess of Memory had already turned into a beam of invisible light and dispersed into thin air.
Leaving only that flawless charming goddess standing alone in place.
After a long time, she seemed to awaken from a great dream, carrying full-body fatigue, and returned to her divine palace.
She still had too, too many things to do.
As for the bold and passionate words spoken by that Mnemosyne, she really did not dare nor want to think about them even a tiny bit more.
Time silently and swiftly passed; after Oceanus came to Olympus to plead for the children, Zeus gathered the gods to start a grand feast, and Goddess Hera, whose heart was full of melancholy, also attended this banquet.
The low-key her still chose the most inconspicuous corner, low-key hiding her figure in the shadows.
Only a pair of beautiful bright eyes uncontrollably, greedily followed that God King—Zeus—located in the center of the gods, surrounded and encircled by countless gods, radiating boundless radiance.
In her heart, she so wanted to go forward and talk with Zeus, so wanted to pour out to Him her overflowing love that almost drowned her.
But her innate arrogance and divine rationality belonging to the supreme Mother Goddess were like invisible shackles, allowing her only to quietly stay in this corner, together with her two sisters who shared the same plight, silently drinking the divine wine in their cups.
The gentle and elegant Goddess of Fertility Demeter had, at some point, fallen in love with the feeling of being drunk.
Recently, she had become increasingly silent, only when divine wine entered her throat could the worries between her brows slightly relax.
Even the warmest Hestia recently could not muster any spirit; the divine fire around her that should warm all things seemed dimmer.
But she ultimately had the most generous character; although her mood was extremely low, she could still barely control her mood.
The bright-eyed Hera drinking alone was how, how much she hoped Zeus could, like before, pass through the noisy gods and take the initiative to come find her.
Even if, even if just saying one irrelevant sentence, for her, it would already be the supreme bounty of contentment.
But no.
Until midway through the feast when Zeus rose and left the hall, Zeus still did not come to find her.
And when Hera saw that right after Zeus left, the graceful figure belonging to Metis followed without hesitation and left together, the beautiful Goddess Hera only felt her heart turn to dead ashes in an instant.
She wistfully raised her head, through the divine palace’s dome, gazing at this still bright and splendid sky, a voice in her heart clearly, over and over, saying to her:
‘It is time to leave.’
‘It is time to leave Olympus.’
‘It is time… to leave Zeus.’
