Chapter 119: We Uphold The God King’s Order!
As Zeus’s words fell, his profound and majestic eyes, like two golden beams of light, slowly scanned every god inside the hall who was holding their breath in rapt attention.
The air inside the entire Council Temple had completely solidified, with not even the slightest breath.
Zeus’s voice echoed like a great bell, carrying an unquestionable authority: “Gods, are there any objections to these Divine Twelve Laws?”
The sacred Goddess of Justice Themis, with her graceful and upright figure, slowly rose from her seat, her simple white robe accentuating her pure and loyal temperament.
Her voice was clear and resolute, piercing the solemn silence of the Divine Palace: “No objections. The order established by Zeus conforms to the highest principles of justice!”
Upon hearing this, a gentle smile bloomed on Zeus’s majestic face. He nodded lightly in salute to the charming and solemn Themis, who remained composed and returned a similarly calm and firm nod.
With Themis taking the lead in speaking, the silent atmosphere inside the hall was instantly broken, and voices of agreement rose one after another.
After all, this was the new order established by the God King, and even the Goddess of Order of Justice agreed. Raising any objection would mean no chance of fitting in afterward.
Moreover, the order principles set by Zeus were indeed without issue—fair and just.
Though they seemed a bit strict, it wasn’t targeting anyone specifically, and strict was better than chaos.
Only at the end did the gentle yet resolute Themis voice the concerns in the hearts of the gods on their behalf.
She lightly parted her red lips again, her tone gentle yet straight to the point: “Esteemed Zeus, we gods all recognize your Sacred Order. We will unwaveringly defend your order, abide by your order, and uphold it as the supreme principle.”
Her voice paused slightly, then she said softly: “However, if conflicts arise among the gods, how can they be judged fairly? If a god among the gods commits wrongdoing, how should their fault be determined and appropriate punishment meted out?”
“After all, some things in this world are not so clear-cut.”
Zeus smiled faintly and nodded in recognition: “Sacred Themis, your words are most reasonable and thoroughly considered. For this, I have long had a plan and have already taken it into account.”
Zeus stated majestically once more: “As I said earlier, if there are disputes among the gods, they must be judged under the witness of the God King and the gods. Now I will specify the rules.”
“Under the framework of the above Divine Twelve Laws principles, any god has the right to bring a lawsuit or claim to the God King regarding matters concerning themselves or the operation of the universe, seeking just judgment.”
“Among the gods, all incarnations of laws are qualified to participate in the vote and jointly decide the final verdict.”
Zeus paused, further explaining: “The vote will be divided into support, opposition, and abstention, with the side having the most supporters becoming the final resolution.”
“Additionally, all wrongdoings that have occurred in the history of the universe must be compiled into specific rules as warnings, which the gods must never repeat. For errors with existing precedents, if repeated, punishment will be aggravated to uphold divine laws and maintain order.”
“However, among the gods, some are elder and some younger, and some gods are not yet mature. Therefore, I propose that all Primal Titans, as well as the Mother Goddess of All Things and the Ruler of Night, their votes shall each carry the weight of three votes.”
“What do the gods think?”
The Primal Titans certainly had no objections; making them equal to the young ones would truly give them cause for complaint.
With the Primal Titans having no objections, and it being a proposal from Zeus, the other gods had even less reason to object.
In the end, all the gods accepted this resolution method—whoever has the biggest fist and heaviest authority has the greatest weight in words. Reasonable.
However, this made the power of each family all the more crucial.
At the same time, effort was needed to maintain good divine relations.
After all, an unpopular god would likely have a hard time under this new order.
The gods voiced their agreement one after another, merging into a torrent of affirmation.
At that moment, the noble Hera, her elegant figure rising from her seat, her crisp and melodious voice resounding inside the hall: “I propose that the esteemed God King and Goddess Queen, their votes shall each carry the weight of five votes.”
The gods exchanged glances and ultimately expressed support.
Zeus had granted reverence and power to the Primal Titans, so in return, the Titans should reciprocate.
The God King’s words carrying the most weight was reasonable.
After the gods agreed, the beautiful Civilization Memory Goddess rose and said softly: “To prevent unwanted incidents due to special circumstances, and for the supreme reverence of the God King, I propose that the God King holds absolute veto power over all resolutions of the gods.”
Mnemosyne’s words exploded like an invisible thunderbolt in the hearts of the gods.
The Civilization Memory Goddess continued: “The gods’ final resolutions can be directly vetoed by the God King if he does not approve, without need for explanation or reason. If the God King vetoes, the gods must deliberate the resolution anew until His Majesty the God King approves.”
“Only resolutions approved by the God King are the final sacred outcome.”
Mnemosyne’s wise eyes slowly scanned the gods, and she said meaningfully: “We uphold the God King’s Sacred Order, do we not?”
Upon hearing this, the hall fell into brief and heavy silence once more.
They all understood what this meant.
Voluntarily granting power to the God King was better than him seizing it himself—more dignified for everyone.
The gods could not help but recall the absolute divine power of Zeus’s power of thunder, that terrifying force seeming to return the entire universe to the void.
They fully understood a realistic and harsh truth: if the God King wanted to force something through, it might not necessarily succeed perfectly.
But if he disagreed, the matter definitely could not proceed.
Better to settle it from the start than let the God King disrupt things—better for everyone, avoiding needless trouble.
Hearing Mnemosyne’s proposal, a flicker of imperceptible satisfaction passed through Zeus’s profound eyes.
He naturally understood Mnemosyne’s deeper intent, and he believed everyone else did too. This was indeed dignified for all and the most realistic outcome.
He was extremely pleased with this proposal, so he chose silence.
Only those thunder-laden eyes silently gazed at the gods, awaiting their final stance.
This silent pressure was more persuasive than any words.
The Goddess of Justice Themis sighed inwardly; she knew this was the wisest choice.
She was the first to voice agreement, her voice resolute and decisive: “The Civilization Memory Goddess speaks the simplest truth, and the most correct truth. I support this proposal; it is the foundation of the universe’s stability!”
Following Themis’s stance, the gods expressed agreement one after another.
Even the Mother Goddess of All Things and the Ruler of Night had no objections, nodding lightly in recognition.
Though some gods felt indifferent, others were heavy-hearted.
However, they all knew this order was already very good.
Power had reached a subtle balance; everyone could act within the established rules, and the God King had no need to overturn the table.
This new order was far better than the previous chaos and tyranny!
Seeing no objections from the gods, Zeus slowly raised his hand and swung it forth forcefully.
A blinding golden thunder, carrying unmatched majesty and power, roared skyward, resounding through the entire universe and world.
Zeus issued the final resolution: “Since the gods have no objections, it is decided thus!”
“From this day forth, every god, regardless of the size of their authority, shall be guardians and practitioners of this order, jointly maintaining the pulse and vitality of the universe. With the co-governance of ten thousand gods, build the shared prosperity of all things and all spirits!”
“The gods must use wisdom as guide and power as shield, ensuring the free evolution of all things in the universe within the framework of laws, eternally prosperous, until reaching perfection!”
“Those who uphold this order shall have their honor shine with the universe, immortal forever; those who violate this order shall have punishment personally delivered by my Great Thunder laws, until they return to the void and are utterly extinguished!”
“This universe’s Holy Justice Order—until eternity! Everlasting and immortal!”
The gods responded with resounding affirmations.
A satisfied smile finally appeared on Zeus’s majestic face, and he nodded lightly.
He smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping over the gods again, then continued: “Since the universe’s new order has been established, we should discuss the most important matter.”
His voice paused deliberately, each word carrying heavy weight: “The gods’ honor.”
“The old God King Cronus has been overthrown; the universe cannot be without a new master.”
“It cannot be without a new Supreme God King to lead the ten thousand gods, defend the order, and protect the universe.”
“Who should be the new God King?”
As soon as this question was raised, the gods inside the hall were filled with shock and astonishment.
It was time to divide the cake. The gods had originally been full of expectation, but hearing Zeus’s words, they all exchanged bewildered looks.
Did this question even need discussion? Hadn’t everyone been assuming Zeus was the new God King all along?
As the hall fell into brief silence, the sacred Hera in golden boots, her noble and radiant figure, rose abruptly from her seat without hesitation.
Her crisp and melodious voice was filled with determination and reverence as she declared loudly: “Majestic Lord of Thunder! Besides you, who else is qualified to sit upon the throne of the God King?!”
White-armed Hera’s words were passionate and forceful: “You defeated the once tyrannical old God King, freeing us from the old shackles; you led the gods to freedom and honor, ushering in a new era; you accomplished the greatest merit, unmatched by any god in the universe.”
“You established this most sacred just order, pointing the way for the universe; you possess the mightiest power and deepest wisdom, able to rule all things; more than that, you have the broadest magnanimity and mercy, generously sheltering all beings.”
“The heavy duties of the God King—who else but you can truly bear them?!”
