The Thirteen Beauties of Nanjing – Chapter 7

Saving People

Chapter 7: Saving People

After being blasted by the shell just now, Su Yaoyang didn’t know what happened, but not only did his mental power surge several times, even his eyesight became stronger. Now, as long as he wanted, he could clearly see sparrows hundreds of meters away.

He fixed his gaze and saw more than a dozen girls wearing blue-gray long robes desperately running towards him from hundreds of meters away. Right, among these girls seemed to be mixed a boy wearing glasses.

“Huh…”

“Oh no…”

Suddenly, Su Yaoyang’s expression changed. He discovered that behind these girls were more than a dozen soldiers wearing khaki military uniforms. These soldiers held rifles almost as tall as themselves, wore steel helmets, and under the helmets were ferocious big pie faces.

“It’s the Japanese devils!”

Seeing the Japanese soldiers closely following behind the girls, Su Yaoyang’s scalp tightened, and his body began to stiffen.

Although he grew up under the red flag and was used to watching anti-Japanese movies and TV shows in later generations, and even had some indescribable encounters with a few Japanese girls studying in China, that was after all in the peaceful era and film and television dramas of later generations. This was the first time in real life seeing fully armed Japanese soldiers.

With his mental power greatly increased, his ears sharp and eyes bright, he could even hear an officer shout: “Don’t shoot! Capture those Chinese women alive!(Don’t shoot, capture those Chinese women)”

“Run… run fast…”

Facing the pursuers behind, the girls were clearly panicked. Three girls actually ran towards the alley where Su Yaoyang was. Seeing this, several Japanese soldiers behind split off to chase them.

“Damn…”

Seeing this, Su Yaoyang cursed lowly, sweating profusely on his forehead, at a loss for what to do for a moment.

“Oh… right, I still have a gun.”

Su Yaoyang fumbled on his body and pulled out the M1911A1 pistol from his bosom, then looked around and saw a haystack nearby. He dodged behind it.

He had just hidden when the three girls ran up.

But unluckily, one girl tripped right in front of the haystack as she ran, her shoe flying off her foot and landing right in front of Su Yaoyang.

The girl struggled to get up, but just as she was about to continue running, she let out a cry of pain and fell back to the ground.

The two girls in front turned back to help her up. One girl panted.

“Shu Juan… get up quickly, the Japanese are coming.”

The girl who was helped up struggled to stand, then gasped in pain with a crying voice: “Little Mosquito… Wang Xiao Zhen… my foot seems sprained, I can’t walk… you… you go first, don’t mind me!”

“Absolutely not.”

The other two girls refused without thinking. They looked around, and the first thing they saw was the haystack nearby. One of them’s eyes lit up, she pulled open the haystack, and said, “Quick, come hide here… as long as we wait… ouch…”

As soon as she spoke, she saw movement in the haystack, followed by a hoarse, low curse from inside: “Get lost… it’s full here, go somewhere else.”

The girl was first startled, then pleaded: “Uncles and aunts, can you let me hide inside? The devils are coming soon!”

But the girl’s plea did not win pity from the people in the haystack. “No… we said it’s full, get the hell out!”

After saying that, the people in the haystack unhesitatingly pushed the girl away, and a big foot stretched out, kicking the girl to the ground.

“Here, those Chinese girls are here!(Quick… those Chinese girls are here!)” Suddenly, a hoarse and vicious voice came from behind.

With the voice, the figures of three Japanese soldiers appeared at the street corner.

“Ah…”

The three girls let out a scream of fright. The three struggled to run forward, but with two supporting a lame girl, how could they run fast? They were quickly caught up by the three Japanese soldiers and forced into the corner.

“Yoshi… Chinese flower girls!” The three Japanese soldiers holding Type 38 rifles almost as long as themselves grinned as they eyed the girls backed into the wall, their eyes showing lewd and cruel gazes.

“You… take off your clothes…” One of the Japanese soldiers pointed his bayonet-fixed rifle at the three girls and suddenly shouted sternly.

“No…”

The girls shook their heads desperately, tears streaming uncontrollably from the corners of their eyes.

“Baka ya lu… die lah die lah…”

Seeing the three girls unwilling to undress, the three Japanese soldiers’ eyes flashed with murderous intent. The leading soldier thrust his bayonet at the girl on the right without hesitation.

“Bang…”

Just as the bayonet was about to stab the girl, a muffled gunshot rang out from behind.

“Bang bang… bang bang bang bang…”

Immediately after, a series of gunshots rang out nonstop, and the three Japanese soldiers fell silently to the ground.

In the shocked gazes of the three girls, a figure slowly stood up from behind the haystack.

“Are you all okay?”

Su Yaoyang walked up to the three girls and asked, while changing a new magazine into his pistol.

The three girls, still shaken, struggled to stand. Shu Juan stood up with the support of her two companions, enduring the pain in her foot: “We’re fine… big brother, thank you for saving us.”

“We’re all Chinese, no need to thank.”

Su Yaoyang said casually, looked around, then walked to Shu Juan and squatted down. “Stretch out your foot.”

Without waiting for Shu Juan to speak, he grabbed the girl’s right foot and examined the already swelling ankle, frowning: “Your foot is badly sprained, looks like you can’t walk. You two support her.”

After saying that, he casually picked up the leather shoe that Shu Juan had just flung off and put it back on her foot, not noticing the little girl’s already flushed red face.

After doing all this, Su Yaoyang went to the three dead Japanese soldiers, collected their three Type 38 rifles, ammo boxes, and a few grenades.

After finishing, he turned his head: “Follow me… we can’t stay here long.”

“Oh… okay…”

The three girls were at a loss. Hearing Su Yaoyang, they naturally followed without hesitation. One man and three women thus slowly walked along the street.

But when passing the haystack, Su Yaoyang looked at the still motionless haystack behind and shook his head helplessly.

He could understand the feelings of those hiding inside. As the saying goes, husband and wife are birds in the same forest, when disaster strikes, they fly separately.

When disaster strikes, each has their own thoughts. He naturally didn’t expect the people inside to go with him, after all, he didn’t dare say that following him had a better chance of survival than hiding in the haystack.

Shu Juan, supported by her companions, followed behind Su Yaoyang while shyly asking as she looked at him: “Big brother, thank you for saving us just now… but… we still don’t know your name?”
