Chapter 35: Pouncing on Him
Zhong Yang waved his arms at Jin Shiyue, “Brother Shi Yue! Master Yue!”
Jin Shiyue narrowed his eyes and walked over unhurriedly.
Lian Li looked at the staff member behind him carrying a folding chair and hot coffee, falling into silence.
Enjoying himself leisurely.
Anyone who didn’t know would think he was here for an inspection, not for skiing.
Pei Qingji looked at Jin Shiyue and said to him, “There are no coaches at the ski resort today. Could you please teach Junior Sister?”
Upon hearing this, Jin Shiyue glanced at Lian Li from the corner of his eye and said indifferently, “You don’t know how to ski?”
Lian Li, adhering to the principle of admitting what she didn’t know, calmly confessed, “I don’t.”
“Your Brother Shi Yue learned to ski at four years old. If he teaches you, you’ll definitely learn,” Zhong Yang said to Lian Li, his tone like an older brother coaxing his younger sister.
Jin Shiyue said, “Who said I was going to teach?”
Lian Li also didn’t want him to teach, so she said, “I don’t need you to teach me.”
“You do, you do,” Zhong Yang said, pushing Lian Li towards Jin Shiyue. “If you learn, it’s your extraordinary talent. If you don’t, it’s all his fault.”
Zhong Yang tilted his chin at Xue Shufan and Pei Qingji, with a hint of provocation, “Old Pei, Shufan, want to have a competition?”
Xue Shufan knew Jin Shiyue’s character and skills well, so she naturally felt at ease.
She rested her ski pole on the ground, her expression proud, “What happens if I lose?”
Zhong Yang said, “I just got an artifact from the Tang Dynasty a few days ago. If you win, I’ll give it to you directly.”
Pei Qingji added, “I’ll get you a set of experimental equipment.”
“Deal!”
Xue Shufan turned her head to Lian Li and said, “Lili, wait for me to win the artifact for you.”
Then, with a swoosh, she glided away.
Lian Li could only catch a glimpse of her flying hair and a fleeting, spirited silhouette.
“You go do your thing, I can manage by myself.”
Lian Li said to Jin Shiyue, not caring if he heard her or what his reaction would be, then she hugged her snowboard with one arm and headed towards a slightly steeper slope.
A staff member had set up a folding chair on a solid patch of ground. Jin Shiyue sat on it, looking like a noble young master on vacation, leisurely watching Lian Li’s retreating back.
Dressed all in white, she walked slowly on the ski slope, like a little penguin.
This little penguin, not good at sports, propped herself up with ski poles, stepped onto the snowboard, and tried to move forward. After a short, stable glide, she fell on her backside.
…Fortunately, she had hip protection.
Lian Li got up, brushed the snow off herself, and tried again.
After watching her fall twice, Jin Shiyue prepared to check how much snow she had eaten and demand compensation.
However, an unappreciative man had beaten him to it.
Gu Sheng picked up Lian Li’s snowboard and handed it to her, “I remember you came with Xue Shufan.”
“Yes, thank you.”
Lian Li raised her hand to brush the snow from her hair. Seeing Gu Sheng hadn’t left, she asked, “Is there anything else?”
“My name is Gu Sheng,” Gu Sheng said. “The method you’re using is wrong. Do you want me to teach you? My skills aren’t as good as Xue Shufan’s, but they’re passable.”
“No…” Lian Li reflexively wanted to refuse, but then she suddenly considered that having someone experienced teach her would be better than trial and error.
Seeing her hesitant expression, Jin Shiyue curved his thin lips meaningfully.
She was so decisive in refusing him.
As Lian Li was lost in thought, a calm and pleasant voice suddenly rang out, “Go learn over there.”
Lian Li turned her head and unexpectedly met Jin Shiyue’s dark, deep eyes.
The faint sunlight fell on his broad shoulders, and his chiseled features seemed veiled in a mist, making his exact expression difficult to discern.
She froze.
Gu Sheng, not expecting Lian Li and Jin Shiyue to be familiar, said in surprise, “Second Young Master.”
Jin Shiyue didn’t even spare him a glance, snatched Lian Li’s snowboard, and walked forward.
“?”
Why did you take my board?
Lian Li had no choice but to apologize to Gu Sheng and chase after Jin Shiyue.
He was tall with long legs and took large strides, so she had to jog to keep up.
The ski resort was a vast expanse of white, with no obvious bumps. Lian Li was a bit anxious and ran too fast, not paying attention, and tripped, falling with a thud into the snow.
Lian Li: “…”
Jin Shiyue: “…”
At this moment, Lian Li became even more convinced that sports were her natural enemy.
Jin Shiyue extended his arm and pulled Lian Li, who was buried in the snow, up.
He looked down at her, the corners of his lips curving slightly, “Little penguin, there’s no snow in Taipei, did you eat it all?”
Lian Li didn’t want to deal with him, wiped her face, and reached out to snatch her snowboard back, but Jin Shiyue placed it on the ground first.
“Get on.”
Lian Li looked at him, not understanding.
Jin Shiyue also looked at her.
Lian Li belatedly realized he wanted to teach her to ski.
But she refused, “I don’t need to.”
Jin Shiyue’s dark eyelashes drooped slightly, and he said slowly, “Do you want me to carry you up?”
What a domineering person.
Lian Li looked around. She couldn’t find any other coaches for the moment. Weighing the pros and cons, Jin Shiyue teaching her was more beneficial than detrimental to her.
The Eldest Young Master was often sharp-tongued, but opportunities for him to personally teach were rare.
Lian Li pondered for a moment before stepping onto the snowboard.
“Feet shoulder-width apart, keep your legs relaxed, bend your knees, with your kneecaps above your toes.”
Jin Shiyue tapped her shoulder and back with his ski pole, “Keep your upper body straight, extend your forearms forward, and look straight ahead.”
Lian Li’s balance was generally poor, and it took her about twenty minutes just to learn to stand steadily on the snowboard.
If Zhong Yang saw this, he would surely be greatly surprised.
When did the Young Master become so patient!
After teaching the basic stance, he then taught her movement, gliding techniques, turning techniques, and stopping techniques.
Lian Li was quite surprised that Jin Shiyue’s teaching method was rather militaristic, with strict requirements, and he could accurately pinpoint her problems and solve them.
In the daylight, the man stood in the snow, his casual ski suit accentuating his tall, lean physique. Strands of hair naturally fell loosely onto his sharp brow bone.
Unlike his usual carefree demeanor, he exuded a calm nobility and sternness, making people instinctively trust him.
“The tip of the ski pole should land in front of your toes, and both arms should push back simultaneously.”
Jin Shiyue tapped Lian Li’s arm with his ski pole, “While gliding, lower your center of gravity appropriately and maintain body stability.”
There was no physical contact, yet Lian Li felt his strength spread through the ski pole, causing her hand to tingle.
In the few seconds Lian Li was lost in thought, Jin Shiyue grabbed her arm and yanked her towards him.
Lian Li was caught off guard and fell onto him.
Perhaps it was because they were on the snow and Jin Shiyue was unstable, but this time she easily pushed him to the ground.
Lian Li felt Jin Shiyue’s hot breath on her face, intertwining with hers, silently becoming one.
Just as a strange feeling began to arise in Lian Li’s heart, she heard Jin Shiyue speak casually in the next second.
“Getting so close, planning to enchant me to death?”
He said lazily, “Do you want me to say before I die, ‘Junior Sister’s stunning beauty is killing me’?”
