Chapter 222: We Have No Relationship Anymore
Ye Chuxiao anxiously asked, “Uncle Tang, is Brother Chusheng’s condition serious right now?”
Tang Hong on the other end of the telephone paused and said, “We don’t know yet, the doctor is performing surgery.”
“Uncle Tang, I’m coming to the hospital right away.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you here in the Emergency Department. Thank you for your trouble, Xiaoxiao!”
After hanging up the telephone, Ye Chuxiao apologetically said to Lu Ziyi, “Senior Student Ziyi, could you please take me to the First Affiliated Hospital of the Medical University? Uncle Tang called me to say that Brother Chusheng had a car accident and his condition is currently unknown!”
“Okay.” Lu Ziyi agreed. With such an emergency, the marriage proposal ceremony for Xiaoxiao tonight would have to be postponed.
Ye Chuxiao informed Bai Qianqian, Xu Luoxi, and An Xiazhi that they couldn’t have their gathering tonight.
Bai Qianqian said worriedly, “It’s okay, Xiaoxiao. Senior Student Chusheng is more important. You go see him. If you need any help, give us a call.”
Ye Chuxiao sat in the passenger seat, and Lu Ziyi drove towards the hospital.
They were both quite silent on the way.
Ye Chuxiao’s back was pressed tightly against the chair, her fingertips twisting together, her mood both anxious and nervous!
The night before last, she had stayed at Brother Chusheng’s apartment to take care of him when he had a high fever. The next morning, his condition had improved, and she had left.
Later, she had called Brother Chusheng to ask about his condition.

Next to Tang Hong stood a young man of medium build. He kept turning his head around, looking anxious and uneasy.
“Uncle Tang!” Lu Ziyi and Ye Chuxiao quickly walked to Tang Hong’s side.
“Xiaoxiao, Ziyi, you’ve arrived,” Tang Hong said. “Chusheng is still in the operating room.”
“Uncle Tang, what happened to Chusheng?” Lu Ziyi asked. “How did he get into a car accident?”
The young man next to Chairman Tang frowned and said miserably, “I really didn’t hit him. He fell in front of my car himself, and I braked immediately!”
This young man was Chairman Tang’s new driver. For him, it was lucky to find a good job. He never expected that after only a week, he would be involved in a car accident!
Tang Hong explained, “I was entertaining some clients at the Qiteng Club tonight. When we were returning, the driver drove the car out of the gate. As he was turning onto the main road, a young man on the sidewalk was drunk and walking unsteadily. As my car passed, he stumbled and fell in front of my vehicle.
“My driver wasn’t driving fast at the time, and he braked immediately. I got out to check, and the young man who was hit by the car turned out to be Chusheng.
“Chusheng was unconscious. I immediately called for an ambulance and had Chusheng sent to the hospital.
“I called Jie’er to come to the hospital, but she said she had broken up with Chusheng and had already been broken up for over half a month!
“These two children, I don’t know what happened, but they just broke up out of the blue!
“Jie’er refused to come to the hospital, saying that Chusheng had nothing to do with her anymore. He insisted on getting drunk and falling on the road; she looked down on such a man.
“I know Chusheng is a person who deeply invests his emotions. Jie’er has some arrogance. Her proposing to break up might have hurt Chusheng, and he was in a bad mood, which is why he got so drunk!”
