Chapter 75: The Truth of the Time-Space Bureau
Hu Sui, Lang Mou, and the Sky Wolf Demon were all gone. Seeing this, the other demons knew they were no match for the Great Celestial Master and scattered like loose sand.
Ni Yu and the two young Taoist disciples looked at the weapons in their hands, exchanging bewildered glances. “Master, what’s going on? Where is Sang Chu? And her Magic Tool?”
They thought this thing that could continuously spew fire was a Magic Tool, and it felt a bit hot to the touch.
“Keep them. It’s your good fortune. We’ll go find the Demon King. We should be able to leave now.”
As he spoke, he glanced at the small Water Droplet that had abruptly appeared on the grass not far away, then turned and left with Ni Yu and the other two.
Old Fish stretched his body and stood up from the ground. The small Water Droplet that had been used for Hiding had disappeared. “I didn’t expect she could actually do it. This will bring some peace to the demon race for a while.”
A wisp of shadow under the moonlight transformed into a giant black dog. It prostrated itself on the ground and said in a low voice, “I originally intended to help my disciple, who has the title but no real recognition. I didn’t expect her to actually achieve it.”
Old Fish said, “Thank you.”
Old Fish had called Xiao Yue intending to help, but after they arrived, they realized Sang Chu didn’t need them at all, so they never made a move.
Xiao Yue said, “She’s my first disciple, after all. Even though she doesn’t acknowledge me, I still acknowledge her. Since she’s fine, I’ll be going now.”
With that, he hid back into the moonlight and vanished without a trace.
Old Fish crushed a water ball in his hand with Spiritual Power and scattered it into the air. “Xiao Yu, the enemy who killed you is dead. Forgive me for not being able to kill him myself to avenge you. I wish you peace and health in your next life, free from all worries.”
On the Time-Space Train.
Sang Chu lay on the ground. Standing before her was a tall Man.
He wore a golden Tang suit embroidered with black nine-clawed dragons that looked so lifelike, as if they would soar into the sky and ascend to the heavens at any moment.
This Man’s features were incredibly exquisite, his skin fair and translucent, but his peach blossom eyes were filled with indifference.
He looked down at Sang Chu from above, exuding an air of disdain for all beings.
His waist-length silver hair cascaded casually behind him, giving him a somewhat lazy and unrestrained appearance.
Seeing Sang Chu staring at him without any further expression, he said, “Sang Chu? Well done. This is your Identity Card. From now on, you are an official employee of the Time-Space Administration Bureau.”
The Time-Space Administration Bureau? Not a traveler?
She wanted to ask what was going on, but seeing the Man’s icy eyes, Sang Chu swallowed her words, deciding to ask the Rabbit later.
Sang Chu looked down at her chest. A golden chain was adorned with a golden Identity Card. The front bore her name, Sang Chu, and the back featured a relief of a train.
The train was golden yellow, the carriages were resplendent, and even what the Man wore was dazzlingly golden. Now, even the chain and Identity Card were golden. Sang Chu didn’t understand their aesthetic sense, only feeling that they were truly extravagant!
Sang Chu asked, “Then them?”
The three demons, Hu Sui, Lang Mou, and the Sky Wolf Demon, had been in a coma since boarding the Time-Space Train. Tu You, unfazed, explained, “This is what happens to outsiders on the train. It was the same when you first boarded. Only by learning the Time-Space Train’s exclusive Mental Power can one maintain their consciousness on board. You’re already doing quite well!”
At this, the tall Man nodded slightly. “Yes, to cultivate to this level in such a short time, you must have been very diligent. Good. Once they are on the train, they will be handled by specialized personnel. The Apocalypse is approaching, so prepare to disembark.”
Sang Chu nodded. Looking at this cold, seemingly emotionless Man, she quickly stood up, preparing to disembark.
The train door opened.
A strong whirlwind roared past. Just as Sang Chu felt she was about to be torn apart by the gale, the Man kicked her off the train!
With a loud thud.
Sang Chu fell from mid-air, rolling several times before managing to stabilize herself and lie on the ground.
This reminded her of the first time she returned from the Monster Transformation World; she had felt like her internal organs were shattered.
“Rabbit, was I also kicked off the train by him last time?”
Tu You laughed heartily. “Yes, Mian Ge said most Time-Space Travelers are afraid to disembark and are annoyingly hesitant. The reason is that the gale instills instinctive fear in them, so he has to help. You’ll get used to it!”
“Mian Ge?”
“Qin Si Mian. He’s the big shot in charge of personnel allocation, mission verification, and issuance at the Time-Space Bureau, and the highest authority on the Time-Space Train. A very powerful figure.”
Sang Chu nodded. Still reeling from being kicked, she knew just how powerful the other party was!
At least his Strength was many times greater than Hu Sui and Lang Mou combined!
Sang Chu asked, “What the heck is this Time-Space Administration Bureau? You didn’t tell me this before!”
Tu You replied, “Different identities receive different information. Before it was confirmed that you could become official, matters of the Time-Space Bureau were confidential. Now that you are an employee of the Time-Space Bureau, there’s no need to hide it. Our mission is to ensure the normal circulation of Supplies across various Worlds.
For example, the first World you visited was the Monster Transformation World. They lacked things like gold, silver, copper, and iron, making it difficult to survive by killing Monsters. Therefore, outsiders needed to bring them the things they lacked for Trade. Your Apocalypse World needs Food, Water, and Soil, which also need to be brought in from the outside to bring a glimmer of Chance of Survival to this World.”
Sang Chu asked, “So, the existence of the Time-Space Train is to bring a glimmer of Chance of Survival to Worlds that are about to disappear?”
Tu You nodded. “That’s right. Without our intervention, the Monster Transformation World would gradually lose its land, people would become food for Monsters, and eventually, the Monsters would kill each other, leading to the complete extinction of a World’s species.
In the Apocalypse World, there’s no normal Energy needed by humans, causing ordinary people who can’t complete their Mutation to die one by one. Zombies and Supernatural Ability Users would kill each other for the Energy on their bodies, leading to extinction.
In the Demon Realm, as the Sky Demon Wolf grows stronger and only retains its beastly nature, it will eventually lead to the destruction of the World. Such matters fall within the jurisdiction of the Time-Space Bureau.”
Sang Chu lay on the ground for a while before slowly standing up. “Hearing it like this, your Time-Space Administration Bureau sounds pretty good.”
Tu You squatted on Sang Chu’s shoulder and said proudly, “More than just good, it’s fantastic! To ensure the smooth completion of Time-Space missions, we must select people with high talent and ensure they are not insane, cold-hearted, or ruthless individuals. Otherwise, if they can’t become official, we Little Elves will die too. It’s because we choose the Ticket holders ourselves, and we have to be responsible for our choices!”
This made Sang Chu very curious about the person he had originally chosen. “Then what kind of person was the one you chose before who died?”
Tu You sighed. “A good person, unfortunately. Good people don’t live long. I observed him for a long time before deciding to bind with him. The moment I came out of the Chaos Zone to give him the binding notification, he died.”
Tu You shook his head helplessly. Sang Chu asked again, “You said you observed him for a long time? That means not everyone who boards the train is necessarily chosen by you, and only those you choose can be true Time-Space Travelers!”
“Of course! Otherwise, how would we find people in so many Worlds? After boarding, they travel, and from these travelers, we select the people we want to bind with.”
