Chapter 101: The Daughter Finally Gets It
Jiang Yuan was woken up by Deng Rui.
“Hurry up and get up, a little bird has been looking for you several times.”
Jiang Yuan rubbed her eyes, “Who is looking for me?”
Deng Rui: “The little bird!”
Jiang Yuan sat up, stunned for a few seconds, and thinking about what happened last night, she quickly got out of bed.
“Is there something going on?” Deng Rui looked at her, surprised.
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow, “There might be some gossip you’d like to hear.”
Deng Rui’s interest was piqued, “I’ll go downstairs and buy some sunflower seeds.”
Jiang Yuan grabbed a handful of millet to soak in water, and then went to brush her teeth and wash her face.
She took a piece of bread and stood on the balcony, eating while waiting for the little sparrow.
“Yuan Yuan, you’re awake!” Little Sparrow Coco flew over, folded her wings, and landed on the cat bed, “Sparrow looked for you several times, Aunt said you weren’t up yet.”
“She told me,” Jiang Yuan put the last bite of bread in her mouth, turned around, picked up the millet she had soaked, and fed Little Sparrow Coco, “Are you hungry? Eat something first.”
Little Sparrow Coco flapped her wings and flew in front of her to peck at the millet.
Jiang Yuan put it on the coffee table for it to eat, and when it stopped, she offered it milk.
After eating and drinking its fill, Little Sparrow Coco began to narrate the scene she saw last night.
“Yuan Yuan, Sparrow followed that old hag into a room last night, and there was a white-haired human inside.”
“White-haired human?” Jiang Yuan asked doubtfully, “Was it male or female?”
Little Sparrow Coco: “It was male.”
Hearing this, a hint of interest flashed in Jiang Yuan’s eyes: “What were they doing in the room?”
“The white-haired male hugged the old hag, pecking at her wrinkled face and mouth,” Little Sparrow Coco said with some disdain, “It’s so perverted.”
Pecking her face?
Jiang Yuan thought for a moment and searched for a kissing video on her phone, “Was it pecking like this?”
Little Sparrow Coco stared at the screen for a moment and nodded vigorously, “That’s right, that’s exactly it.”
Jiang Yuan’s eyebrows raised slightly, her delicate and beautiful face filled with shock.
Deng Rui, who had returned after buying sunflower seeds, saw her expression and asked doubtfully, “What’s wrong?”
“Mom.” Jiang Yuan put away the shock on her face and said with a smile, “Coco saw Cao Laoting kissing a white-haired man last night.”
Deng Rui’s eyes widened instantly like brass bells, “Really?”
“It’s definitely true,” Jiang Yuan said, “I happened to see her go out when I went downstairs to throw out the trash last night.”
Deng Rui tutted, “She’s asking for trouble, going out in the middle of the night to fool around with another man…”
She sat down beside Jiang Yuan, tore open the bag of sunflower seeds, grabbed a handful for Jiang Yuan, and then grabbed some for herself to crack.
Little Sparrow Coco looked at them with its small, black bean eyes, “Is that called kissing?”
“Yes,” Jiang Yuan cracked a sunflower seed and added, “What else did they do besides kissing?”
Little Sparrow Coco: “Sparrow saw them take off their clothes, fight on the sofa, and fight all the way to the bed. Oh, and that old hag also stuck her white butt out and let the white-haired male hit it.”
Jiang Yuan: “…”
Deng Rui asked enthusiastically, “What else did Coco say?”
Jiang Yuan pressed her lips together, suddenly not knowing how to repeat what she said.
It was like that awkward feeling when you watch a passionate scene on TV with your parents.
“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Deng Rui urged.
Jiang Yuan simply said, “Coco said Cao Laoting and that white-haired man were on the sofa and then on the bed, all the way to the bed.”
Deng Rui’s eyes were full of gossip, and she clapped her hands and laughed, “Oh my gosh, what was she thinking? Did that man give her money?”
Before Jiang Yuan could answer, Little Sparrow Coco smartly asked, “Yuan Yuan, is money red?”
Jiang Yuan: “Coco, did you see the white-haired male give the old hag money?”
After speaking, she searched for pictures of RMB and showed them to it, “This is all money.”
Little Sparrow Coco leaned towards the phone screen and pecked at a hundred-yuan bill with its pointed beak, “It’s this kind, the white-haired male gave the old hag two of them.”
Jiang Yuan: “…”
Her expression suddenly became a bit hard to describe.
It wasn’t cheating, but selling herself?
“Hurry up and say it!” Deng Rui urged.
Jiang Yuan: “Coco said that Cao Laoting accepted two hundred yuan from that man.”
Deng Rui: “…”
This is outrageous!
“Is she crazy?”
Jiang Yuan: “She’s gone crazy for money.”
Her gaze flowed, and she quietly calculated in her heart how to use this incident to get revenge on Cao Laoting.
Perhaps because she heard the gossip about Cao Laoting, Deng Rui was in a great mood and waved her hand grandly, “Let’s go, I’ll treat you to a meal at noon.”
Jiang Dashan went to work, and Jiang Die was working a part-time job outside. They would only be mother and daughter at noon.
Deng Rui chose a Southeast Asian restaurant, with a per-person cost of three hundred yuan.
The price was a bit high, but she had just received her retirement pay the day before yesterday, so she could splurge once.
“Can you get used to this flavor?” Jiang Yuan asked while warming the bowls.
“Let’s try it,” Deng Rui said smilingly, “You have to try new things to avoid being eliminated by society.”
“Ms. Deng, you’re becoming more and more aware,” Jiang Yuan gave her a thumbs up.
Deng Rui’s face was filled with pride, “Of course, I’m a woman of the new era.”
Jiang Yuan scanned the code on the table with her mobile phone, “See what you want to eat.”
Deng Rui took the phone and felt a pang of pain when she saw the unit prices of the dishes.
But thinking that it was food for her and her daughter, and that they wouldn’t suffer too much either way, she generously ordered four dishes, one soup, and one staple food.
Stir-fried water spinach, grilled pork neck, curry crab, steamed sea bass with green lemon, tom yum soup, and pineapple fried rice.
After the dishes were served, Deng Rui handed her phone to Jiang Yuan, “Take a few pictures for me first.”
“Okay, Young Lady,” Jiang Yuan diligently took pictures for her.
Deng Rui took back her phone and, seeing Jiang Yuan picking up her chopsticks to eat, asked suspiciously, “Aren’t you going to take pictures?”
Jiang Yuan: “No.”
In the past, she used to post on Moments for business and occasionally show off her beautiful photos to attract rich second-generation men.
Sometimes when she couldn’t find a photo buddy, she would ask Deng Rui to take pictures for her.
Now she had no intention of attracting rich second-generation men and was too lazy to take pictures.
Occasionally, when she felt like it, taking a few pictures to record her life was quite nice.
Jiang Yuan put down her chopsticks and sat beside Deng Rui, “Mom, let’s take a few photos together.”
Deng Rui was a little surprised, “Do you want to take pictures?”
Before, when she helped Jiang Yuan take pictures, she had also suggested taking mother-daughter photos, but at that time Jiang Yuan had a look of disdain.
She had said, “I don’t even have enough time to take solo pictures, how could I have time to take photos with you? Besides, you dress so unstylishly, it would make me look cheap.”
At that time, Deng Rui’s eyes turned red, her heart broke, and she forced herself not to cry.
“Mom? What are you spacing out for?” Jiang Yuan raised her phone to take a selfie and saw Deng Rui in a daze through the screen, then patted her thigh to remind her, “We’re taking a picture.”
“Oh, okay,” Deng Rui suddenly felt a warmth in her eyes, blinked a few times, and smiled at the camera.
Fortunately, Heavens favored her, and her daughter finally opened up to her at the age of twenty-three.
