Chapter 87: There Was Another Dog At Home
“Spare our lives, we won’t dare again, never again.” The red jacket man repeatedly waved his hands, begging for mercy, “Please let us go.”
Jiang Yuan estimated the time; the police should be arriving soon.
She forcefully pushed the man to the ground and turned to ask the panicked girl beside her, “Do you want to kick him a few more times?”
Hearing this, Xing Xing looked up at her.
Their eyes met, and a flicker of surprise flashed in both their eyes.
Jiang Yuan curved the corners of her lips and said with a light laugh, “Don’t just stand there, hurry up.”
“Okay.” Xing Xing nodded and walked up to the red jacket man, channeling all her strength into her right foot, and kicked him directly in the abdomen.
Hearing his pained wail, her gaze turned cold, and she delivered another kick.
Xing Xing turned her head and stared at the man in the printed sweater who was curled up on the ground, hugging his arms and rolling around incessantly.
“And you.” She walked over, kicked him twice without saying anything, and said with disgust, “Disgusting person!”
Police sirens wailed.
The police arrived at the scene and saw two big men lying on the ground groaning in pain, with two slender young girls beside them.
“Alright, stop pretending,” the police officer crouched down and patted the shoulders of the two men. “You’re grown men, why do something like being thugs? Get up quickly and come with us to the police station.”
“Officer, we’re not pretending, it really hurts,” the red jacket man gasped as he spoke.
They had seen many people like this. They directly pulled the two men up from the ground, handcuffed them, and put them in the police car.
Jiang Yuan said softly, “My car is parked over there. I’ll take her to the police station.”
The police officer nodded, “Okay, thank you for your trouble.”
“It’s okay.” Jiang Yuan looked at Xing Xing, “Let’s go.”
The police officer also got into the police car, thinking that Jiang Yuan looked very familiar but couldn’t recall where he knew her from.
The red BMW drove under the night sky.
Xiao Bai sat on Jiang Yuan’s lap, staring intently at the stylish Bichon Frise.
Xing Xing, holding Pipi, sat somewhat reservedly in the passenger seat. She turned her head to look at Jiang Yuan’s beautiful profile and said softly, “Streamer, thank you for saving me.”
“You’re welcome,” Jiang Yuan glanced at her, “But why were you sitting there for so long?”
“I…” Xing Xing pressed her lips together, her voice muffled, “I didn’t dare to go back to the dormitory with Pipi. Many hotels don’t accept pets, so I was sitting there thinking about where to go.”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuan guessed the reason, “Did you not communicate well with your mother?”
“She…” Xing Xing lowered her eyes, gave a bitter smile, and shook her head, “I don’t know how to talk about her.”
Jiang Yuan’s fingertips tapped the steering wheel absently, and the car soon arrived at the police station.
After getting out of the car and finishing her statement, Xing Xing held Pipi and said goodbye to Jiang Yuan at the police station entrance.
“Streamer, thank you so much today!”
Jiang Yuan looked at her, her slender eyebrows furrowing slightly, a flicker of worry in her bright eyes, “What about you, what are your plans?”
Xing Xing hesitated, “I’ll see.”
Fearing Jiang Yuan would worry, she added, “Don’t worry about me.”
“Alright,” Jiang Yuan nodded, “Then I’ll be going now.”
Xing Xing smiled and waved her hand, “Goodbye, be careful on the road.”
Jiang Yuan opened the car door, and Xiao Bai, who had been lying on the seat, immediately got up, “Yuan Yuan, where is Pipi?”
“He’s gone.” Jiang Yuan fastened her seatbelt, but a sense of unease lingered in her heart.
After driving for a while, she turned the steering wheel and drove back.
From a distance, she saw two lonely figures illuminated by the car headlights.
Jiang Yuan slowed down, rolled down the window, and said, “Xing Xing, get in.”
Hearing the voice, Pipi’s big, dark dog eyes instantly lit up, and he barked joyfully, “It’s the streamer! The streamer is here!”
Xing Xing turned her head to look at Jiang Yuan, who had returned, and suddenly felt her eyes sting.
The temperature inside the car was pleasant; her frozen fingers gradually felt warm.
“I’ll book you a hotel room,” Jiang Yuan parked the car by the roadside and took out her phone to search for hotels.
Hearing this, Xing Xing quickly shook her head, “No need. I’ve asked several hotels, and they don’t accept pets.”
Jiang Yuan tilted her head to look at her and raised an eyebrow, “Then you’ll stay by yourself.”
Xing Xing was astonished, “Then Pipi…”
Jiang Yuan’s gaze fell on the fluffy Bichon Frise, and she said with a smile, “He can stay at my place for now.”
Upon hearing this, both the person and the two dogs were surprised.
Xing Xing said uneasily, “But this will be too much trouble for you…”
“It’s alright, I have pets at home anyway, so one more won’t make much difference,” Jiang Yuan paused for a moment before continuing, “I just don’t know if Pipi is willing.”
Before Xing Xing could speak, Pipi immediately barked, “Yes, yes!”
Xiao Bai was also very happy, “This is great!”
“Pipi is willing?” Xing Xing asked.
Jiang Yuan: “Yes.”
Xing Xing genuinely didn’t know where to send Pipi at that moment, so she didn’t refuse any further.
“Then I’ll entrust Pipi to you,” she looked at Jiang Yuan gratefully, “I’ll book the hotel myself.”
She felt too embarrassed to trouble Jiang Yuan to take care of Pipi and even spend money to book her a hotel.
Jiang Yuan nodded, “Alright, let’s add each other on WeChat. You send me the hotel address, and I’ll take you there.”
“Okay, thank you,” Xing Xing said again.
Jiang Yuan took Xing Xing to the hotel entrance and went home with the two furry children.
Deng Rui woke up and found another dog in the house.
She stared at Pipi, frowning deeply.
Xiao Bai anxiously circled her feet, explaining, “Mom, don’t chase Pipi away, it was Yuan Yuan who brought him home.”
Pipi stood with his four paws together, obediently squatting in front of her, mimicking Xiao Bai’s bark, “Mom, I’m very well-behaved, I won’t destroy the house.”
Deng Rui couldn’t understand what they were saying. She secretly guessed that this Bichon Frise was likely an unfortunate little dog.
She sighed, comforting herself, “It’s okay, it’s the same whether I have one or two. Come on, little ones, it’s time to eat.”
Seeing this, Xiao Bai immediately said to Pipi, “Mom agrees you can stay. She’s calling us for breakfast.”
Upon hearing this, Pipi’s fluffy face showed a look of joy, “That’s great, Mom is so nice!”
After breakfast, Xiao Bai suggested, “Pipi, let’s play with Mom!”
“Okay!” Pipi readily agreed.
Xiao Bai went to the toy pile and picked up a red ball, “This one’s for you.”
“Thank you, Xiao Bai!” Pipi was very grateful to him.
If it weren’t for Xiao Bai, it might not have integrated so quickly.
“You’re welcome,” Xiao Bai said, then picked up a yellow ball himself.
Deng Rui was watching the news with her reading glasses on when she suddenly saw two furry children squatting in front of her, one on each side, holding balls in their mouths.
Xiao Bai and Pipi barked simultaneously, “Mom, we’ll play with you.”
Deng Rui pursed her lips, thinking to herself: These furry kids are really high maintenance, wanting to play right after eating, just like little babies.
She extended her two hands, grasped both the red and yellow balls simultaneously, and threw them in two different directions.
Xiao Bai and Pipi transformed into swift cheetahs, instantly leaping out.
After a few back-and-forth rounds, Xiao Bai trotted up to Deng Rui, sticking out his tongue and excitedly asking, “Mom, are you having fun?”
