Chapter 140: Just Be Awesome
He didn’t know if others were the same as him, he just used this sentence; treat all beings as Buddhas, and he saw that pattern.
He wanted to tell his girlfriend, wanted to tell his brother, but his girlfriend and brother couldn’t understand what he was saying at all.
He invited Gouzi to eat, holding a bottle cap in his hand, and asked Wang Fei; “Do you think this bottle cap is here or not?”
Wang Fei said; “It’s here, isn’t it in your hand?”
He asked Gouzi again; “Do you think it’s here?”
Gouzi said with doubt; “No?”
The boy shook his head and smiled; “You are both right. When you think it’s there, it is, and when you think it’s not, it actually isn’t either.”
The two didn’t understand what the boy meant. The bottle cap was clearly in the boy’s hand, so why did the boy say it was both there and not there?
Seeing Gouzi and Wang Fei looking at him blankly, the boy continued; “How did this bottle cap come about? Was it man-made? Wasn’t it there before it was made?”
“Yes,” Gouzi replied.
“Then when man makes things, doesn’t he need to think first? Can he make it only after thinking?”
“Yes,” Gouzi responded again.
“Then what if you don’t think at all? Can there still be a bottle cap?”
“Of course not,” the two answered the boy simultaneously.
Seeing that the two had thought of this point, the boy continued; “Did people develop this cognition because they first thought of good things and bad things? When they think of good things, they are happy, and when they think of bad things, they are sad or angry. Nothing has happened to you two right now, Gouzi, think of something that makes you sad, and wife, think of something happy.”
Hearing the boy’s words, although they didn’t understand what the boy was trying to do, they both did as he said. After a moment, seeing their expressions change, Gouzi looked wronged and pained, while Wang Fei was radiant and smiling.
The boy said, “Stop!”
He first asked Gouzi; “Gouzi, are you feeling very uncomfortable?”
Gouzi said; “Yes.”
The boy then turned and asked Wang Fei; “Wife, are you feeling happy?”
Wang Fei smiled and said; “Of course, who wouldn’t be happy thinking about good things?”
“Then, we are sitting here without moving, eating, and has what you were thinking about happened now?”
Both of them said no.
“Then why do you have emotions? Why, when nothing has happened, would one feel sad and the other happy?”
They said that thinking about those things evoked emotions.
Hearing this, the boy asked again; “So, can we say that regardless of whether things happen or not, as long as you think about them, you obtain that state and emotion?”
The two really couldn’t understand what the boy was talking about. The boy, however, felt that he had already explained it very clearly.
Seeing that Gouzi and Wang Fei genuinely couldn’t understand, the boy became helpless and simply stopped talking. He didn’t mention it again and continued to chat and drink alcohol.
Back home, the boy said to Wang Fei; “Humans are a species controlled by inertial thinking. Whatever they believe, or rather, think, they will be controlled by that thought. While I was eating, I simultaneously controlled both of you, making one of you uncomfortable and the other happy, to teach you this lesson. But you two didn’t notice me controlling you, nor did you understand what I was teaching you… alas…”
Wang Fei thought the boy was drunk and talking nonsense.
The boy himself saw the pattern, but couldn’t awaken the people around him. The people around him even thought he was suddenly talking like a madman.
The boy stopped talking because he had benefited from Buddhist Dharma and continued to cultivate according to it, researching what the Five Aggregates are Empty means, and what it means to see all forms as non-forms to see Tathagata. He didn’t read scriptures, but only researched some phrases within them and fully understood them.
After cultivating for a while longer, he felt like he should have a sword, so he began to mentally draw one in his mind and observe it for fun. He saw something like a comet about to hit the earth, and he swung his sword to chop it, and a huge sword qi shattered the comet.
When he felt irritated, he would use his sword to chop the word “irritation,” and oh dear, he found it very effective. He didn’t know why, but after that, whenever he had any trouble or disturbance, he would use this sword to chop it. He was completely treating it as fun, and it truly resolved those issues.
It’s just that at this time, he didn’t know what “awakening” was; he was purely playing. Sometimes, when distracting thoughts increased, he would frantically chop them in his mind, using his sword like a kitchen knife, hahahahaha. Every time he played like this, his troubles were eliminated.
This sword was not fixed; sometimes it turned into a meteor hammer, sometimes into a halberd, sometimes a rapier, sometimes a greatsword, sometimes a Buddha bell, changing in myriad ways.
Damn, if outsiders knew about this, they would be stunned! This is not proper cultivation at all! He’s actually cultivating while playing around!
In a few days, the boy felt again, something was wrong, he seemed to have another item, also a magic tool, different from this thought sword, it was a physical object, it seemed to be called a ruler.
The boy thought for a week but couldn’t remember what this thing was. What kind of ruler was it? He thought about it every day and researched information daily.
Later he found it, the moment he saw the name, he was sure, the Fuchi (Fu Chi)!
Fuchi is also known as Jiefang, and in ancient times it was called the Startling Hall Wood. It has a lot of messy names.
What the Emperor used was called Longdan. It was also called “Zhen Shan He” (Shaking Mountains and Rivers), meaning that when the Emperor clapped it, it could be heard in all four directions, showing supreme power.
What the Empress used was called Fengxia; what concubines used was called “Fengzhu,” also known as “Fengxia.”
What civil officials used was called Jing Tang; what county magistrates used was called “Jing Tang Mu” (Startling Hall Wood).
What military generals used was called Huwei, also known as “Jing Hu Dan” (Startling Tiger Gallbladder), used to intimidate the army.
Monks and Taoists called it Zhen Tan, also called “Zhen La,” “Jie Gui,” “Xing Shu,” “Qu Xie” (Exorcise Evil), and “Han Pai,” used to awaken the spirit.
What pharmacies used was called Ya Fang. Doctors called it “Shen Chen,” “Shen Shen.”
Performers called it “Qiong Shuai,” “Guo Ban Shi,” “Ling Er,” “Zhi Yu.”
This is only a part of them, and there are many more names.
After the boy found out what this magic tool was, he was as happy as a child.
He knew it, he remembered he had this thing. At that time, he was fighting someone with the sword and this thing, and smashed a bump on someone’s head.
But these memories didn’t belong to him, and he couldn’t understand why.
He didn’t bother with it and continued to cultivate, cultivating vigorously, just as the Buddhist Dharma said.
Worldly people looked like children in his eyes, everyone did.
As long as he wanted, a few words could stir people’s emotions.
He always reflected and summarized his cultivation. As he cultivated, he became a bit confused because he had no emotions. How could he get angry now? Everyone was like a child, how could he, an adult, get angry? It wasn’t worth it.
Buddhist Dharma says that Buddhas often have a joyful heart. He heard this and was overjoyed by everything he saw, but not in a perverted way. When he saw someone suffering, he wouldn’t be like that, but he would feel a bit of heartache. However, after observing the pattern, he was relieved.
Later, after cultivating, he had no emotions left, only joy, which Wang Fei noticed. She said he was like a different person.
The boy smiled, of course he was different! His heart was completely unlike his former self. All the things he couldn’t get over before, all the suffering and pain, he had let go of, because he knew they were experiences he should have had, all for him to achieve enlightenment.
His leg began to recover faster. Every day before sleeping, he would tease the cells in his body; “Hehe, little friends, if you follow Big Brother in this life, you’ll be the most awesome. Big Brother believes in you, you will definitely be as awesome as me, you are the most powerful. Others can’t recover, but I believe in you, you will definitely work. To put it boastfully, if you get serious, you can even grow back a meniscus for Big Brother, cough cough cough. Awesome is all that matters.”
He was bluffing his own cells, but it wasn’t really bluffing; he truly believed that the life forms within him were incredibly awesome.
Things were indeed as he thought. By persevering in his cultivation, he actually got better! His leg was only two fingers away from being as good as the other. Of course, he also squatted for fun, not just by bluffing. Hahahaha.
Later, he no longer deliberately paid attention. He knew that his cells had become invincible.
He always trained to relax his body, feeling his body becoming lighter and lighter.
