An Unorthodox Cultivation Insight – Chapter 30

Saving Others Is Difficult

Chapter 30: Saving Others Is Difficult

Of course, this compassion also includes a heart that embraces all things, understanding sentient beings’ ignorance and thoughts, or cognitions, which are merely created from the discernment of individual cognition, so there is no need to argue and one can tolerate it.

And sorrow, again, includes just this, a heart that feels sorrow and sadness for sentient beings.

Learn and comprehend well, child, for if you do not understand this principle in this life, it will be very difficult to understand it in the next.

As Master Meng Can said, it is not easy to obtain a human body, and a human body allows one to hear Buddhist Dharma better.

The Buddhist Dharma here refers to the method of attaining Buddhahood.

That is to say, it is the method of illuminating the mind and seeing one’s true nature, and seeking the true self.

It is a great opportunity in your life that you can see this book on this platform for free.

Don’t believe me? Go look online, go look in life, they will ask you for money, a lot of money.

Of course, you can’t blame them, because things that are easily obtained are often not cherished.

On the contrary, rare things are cherished.

It’s like if I don’t charge you, you won’t listen carefully. It’s free anyway, so if I’m lazy, I’m lazy. At worst, I can listen again later, since it’s free.

But if you pay? If you pay ten thousand, one hundred thousand, or a million, you will think, I must listen to this class carefully. Even if I have to force myself, I must listen, because it is very rare, it contains the truth of life, and it contains the methods of cultivation. This is the pitiable aspect of human nature.

Things that are clearly simple are made complicated by the complexity within one’s own heart.

Therefore, saving others is difficult, and saving those who do not pay is even more difficult.

This is also the helplessness of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Some masters charge money to save others purely for money, while some masters charge money to save others out of sheer helplessness.

If I don’t charge you and you don’t believe, what do you expect me to do?

I see you have the intention to seek the Dao and I teach you directly, you will start overthinking, your mind will not be focused, and instead, if I ask you for a lot of money, you will become serious.

Your principle of not believing easily makes you unable to distinguish between truth and falsehood, right and wrong, and also between genuine and false cultivation.

Actually, there is no such thing as genuine or false cultivation. If you think what he said made you understand, opened up your mind, and benefited you, and helped you grow, then it is good.

It is not about the issue of cost, but rather that some people intentionally instill in you the concept that you must spend money, and even that spending too little is not acceptable, making you believe that cultivation and seeking the Dao require money and can only be done with money.

This opens the door for some people and closes it for others.

Closing and opening both have pros and cons in the eyes of ordinary people.

Today I had a conversation about cultivation topics with a friend who offers incense, and he surprised me.

Because it is difficult for many people who have certain cognitions to break through them, but his comprehension and comprehension are very high. I guided him to think about some issues, and he could comprehend the principles within them.

However, because of this, it will be difficult for him to awaken. Do you know why?

Because it is too easy to hear Buddhist Dharma, he does not understand that what he comprehends is Buddhist Dharma and Daoist Methods, nor does he understand that illusions are being broken.

It will cause a strong conflict with his own cognition, and may even cause his mind to go blank, not knowing what to do.

Because after breaking past cognitions, one discovers that what was previously thought to be right, and what was previously thought to be wrong, are both incorrect. Even the gods and Buddhas one believed in change their appearance.

Ordinary people cannot accept this for a while. And when I share too many things with him that differ from his previous cognitions, he will feel resistant in his heart, developing a psychological state of both curiosity and resistance.

Sometimes it’s not enough to just talk for free, and I don’t want to charge money. It’s like taking money from my own pocket to praise myself, which is very boring.

Therefore, the place I like best for discussing scriptures and the Dao is in books.

I don’t need to explain the principles of things, I need to write them for you to read and comprehend yourself. Whatever you comprehend is yours.

Only by reading books can one be led to deep thought, whereas in conversation, the topic is often not fully understood before moving on to another.

So in the end, although one feels like they know a lot, they only remember a little.

To tell you the truth, it is extremely difficult to break illusions after completing incense offerings, because the more you benefit, the more you feel it is correct.

This is a very normal way of thinking. If someone tells you that you will find money when you go out, and you go out to find money, and you really find money.

If someone else tells you that the money was always yours, and they just told you to pick it up, you definitely won’t understand.

Just like many people today, when their mind or body has a problem that cannot be diagnosed, they are told that they have a connection, and need to establish a shrine and settle down.

Why do they all say the same thing? If one person says it and you don’t believe, after hearing it from multiple people, will you believe it?

So, whose home are they settling? Isn’t it the home of your own heart?

Have they settled a home of self-belief for you?

You see, you don’t believe in yourself, you lack courage, you are afraid of this and that, and sometimes you can’t sleep, tossing and turning with rambling thoughts, which makes your body lazy and weak.

After settling a home for you, your heart is at peace, and you have gods, immortals, and backing. Even if you don’t believe in yourself, you must believe in gods, immortals, and the Buddha, right?

Once you believe, and your heart stabilizes and calms down, those minor ailments naturally get better, don’t they?

Why does the mind still become restless as you believe more? Because you don’t believe in yourself. You are borrowing cognition, borrowing the names of gods and immortals and Buddhas, and you yourself are still not confident.

And also, you place the gods and immortals you believe in into your heart, and you mistake your own ability to communicate with your heart for divine ability.

You treat your original heart as someone else, and you will still feel uncomfortable, controlled and watched by others. Can you not be annoyed?

When you think of something? When you do something? You always feel that the Old Immortal will punish you, and you feel guilty and afraid. You are so scared that you dare not do anything, and even when you do, you are afraid.

Actually, that’s all in your own mind.

Why would immortals care about your mortal affairs? Who do you think you are?

With just one sentence saying you have a connection, you think the gods will manage and protect you?

With 1.5 to 1.6 billion people in the country, how can they possibly manage everyone? Are you that special? Isn’t Jack Ma more special than you? Isn’t Li Ka-shing more special than you?

You, who have trouble even going to work, are too lazy to do anything, have no goals, no ideals, yet you can presumptuously believe that gods and Buddhas have a connection with you?

Do you believe it yourself?

Since you have such great divine power and such a powerful realm, why are you still an ordinary person? Why are you still troubled, irritated, and overwhelmed by the disturbances of life, feeling exhausted and weak?

To tell you the truth, you have probably never even seen your own most authentic appearance.

Don’t believe me? Think back. At every stage of your life, your thoughts and states at each stage have been constantly oscillating and changing within the habits of your cognition.

You have never been truly stable.

Do not be a person dominated by the desires of self-cognition, but become a strong person who dominates yourself.

Redefine yourself, reset your cognitive program, achieve self-deification, unify the true and false self, and control the false self with the true self.
