Chapter 85: Spirit Ascension
I don’t know what method the hospital director, that old bastard, used, but the time in this prison is vastly different from the outside.
Before you know it, years have passed, and before you know it, years have passed.
In the blink of an eye, thirty years went by.
During this time, the old bastard would bother Big Brother whenever he had a chance.
As soon as Big Brother recovered a little, he would beat me to a pulp.
This isn’t the most ridiculous part; the most ridiculous part is the cellmates. They’ve gotten used to life in prison and always urge me to compromise and accept my fate.
There were many times Big Brother almost couldn’t take it and just muddled through life like them.
The worst part is, sometimes when I secretly cultivated my realm a bit, some of these idiots would report me.
Damn it, you can’t blame these people. When they saw me being punished, they’d offer comfort. But when I got better, they’d plot against me again.
They truly can’t stand to see others in a bad situation, and even less can they stand to see someone better off than them. This trait even applies to two cellmates who were quite close to me.
“Chan Ge, hehe, Xin Ge, when you get out, be sure to pull your brother along, okay? After you’re better, this brother will follow you.”
“Yeah, Xin Ge, I think so too. You’re definitely going to be extraordinary in the future because you’re different from everyone else. When you stand up, your younger brother will follow you too.”
These two guys would say things like that to me from time to time, trying to flatter me. I thought that even if people like them couldn’t help me, they wouldn’t betray me, right?
Cough cough cough, turns out that was the opposite.
This day, they were holding an election for managers in the Heavenly Prison, which meant the prisoners would compete amongst themselves to elect representatives to manage others.
Guess what the people who said those things to me did? They directly reported my secret cultivation, and they even spoke ill of each other.
All their past insincerity was completely exposed at this moment. One was appointed as the head manager, and the other as the deputy manager.
Given their behavior, you’d think they would stop associating with us, right? But no, they had the audacity to come back and talk to me.
“Um, that person, Xiao Chan Xin, sweep the toilets today, and then go wash my socks! Hehe, don’t worry, if you do a good job, I definitely won’t treat you unfairly.”
“Hey, you there, Xiao Chan, come here for a moment. Go fetch me some foot-washing water. Do a good job, and I’m keeping an eye on you.”
Damn it, these two beasts, they said they’d follow me when I got better. Now that they’re in power, their faces have changed faster than a professional face-changer.
Fine, fine, fine, you two are impressive. I’ll endure it. Just you wait until I rise up!
I don’t know if it was because of living like this for too long or what, but gradually, I was influenced by these people. Big Brother also learned to flatter and scheme behind people’s backs.
Gradually, through interacting with these cellmates, I helped out whenever anyone needed it. After a while, when new managers were being chosen again, I was pushed forward.
Of course, this was difficult because after those two idiots got into power, they each had their own trusted subordinates.
However, through constantly feigning weakness and persevering for a long time, they relaxed their vigilance towards me. Big Brother has stood up; I’ve become the third manager.
Damn it, let’s see then. There’s a long way to go, we’ll play slowly.
I would always deliberately cause trouble for those two bastards whenever I had the chance. Every time they were punished, Big Brother would secretly snicker in my heart.
Hehe, I’m certain I am a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and you are my prey, the lamb in my mouth.
Lost in hatred, Big Brother relaxed his cultivation, or rather, he was assimilated by these kinds of people.
With just two steamed buns for a meal, and being a petty official in prison, they felt incredibly powerful, thinking everyone else was inferior to them.
They became complacent and forgot their original intentions. I thought that living my life like this would be quite good.
Until I was beaten three more times by the hospital director, that old bastard.
Damn it! Big Brother is unwilling, I am unwilling to be imprisoned here my whole life, being manipulated like a beast.
I must get out. When I get out, I will make this idiot hospital director pay.
Time flies, days and months pass like a shuttle, and another sixty years have gone by.
In these sixty years, everyone here hasn’t changed much; they live like beasts, confined and repeating their daily jobs.
But I have been secretly investigating the differences between this place and the outside world, constantly reminding myself not to give up cultivating.
Through my continuous secret exploration, I learned that the place where I am imprisoned is a prison called the Heavenly Prison.
This place holds beings from the Three Realms, but they are not imprisoned because they committed a crime, but rather because they once opposed the people of Heaven.
This Heavenly Prison is a trap set to imprison the souls of all beings, making them waste away here, fight amongst themselves, and forget their original selves.
It’s meant to corrupt their souls, prevent them from discovering this secret, and suppress them here for eternity.
There are no doors here; it is boundless, and its boundaries cannot be explored. Therefore, there is only one method to escape from within: Spirit Ascension.
To achieve a breakthrough in soul power, in human terms, it’s Dimensional Ascension, upgrading the soul’s level to a higher dimension to escape this prison.
I once read about the concept of ten dimensions in a book.
One-dimensional space refers to a space composed only of points along a single line. It has only length, no width or height, and can only extend infinitely in two directions. In one-dimensional space, objects can only move in one direction.
Two-dimensional space is a plane formed by countless parallel lines, possessing length and width but no depth. In two-dimensional space, objects can move in two directions.
Three-dimensional space is a solid space formed by countless two-dimensional planes, possessing length, width, and height. The mortal world is a three-dimensional space.
Four-dimensional space adds a time axis to three-dimensional space, forming the concept of space-time. In four-dimensional space, objects can move through both time and space.
Five-dimensional space adds another time axis on top of four-dimensional space, forming the X and Y axes of time, allowing observation of different parallel universes and branches of time.
Six-dimensional space adds another time axis on top of five-dimensional space, forming a three-dimensional temporal structure, allowing observation of all possible futures and pasts.
Seven-dimensional space imagines six-dimensional space as a line connecting an infinite point of possibilities to another infinite point of possibilities, representing all possible universes and events.
Eight-dimensional space makes seven-dimensional space three-dimensional, forming the ability to traverse different multiverses, where the physical laws and chemical reactions differ in each universe.
Nine-dimensional space makes eight-dimensional space three-dimensional, forming the ability to alter the rules of the universe, including formulas for gravity, time, and speed, which can be manipulated at will.
Ten-dimensional space is the dimension of a point, containing all universes and all possibilities, a concept of infinite space-time.
Of course, these are just concepts.
If my guess is correct, the soul of a cultivator can go to any dimension, depending on the strength of their soul power. For example, my Nirvana before dying, the process of re-growth, utilized the concept of ten-dimensional infinite possibilities to start anew.
If this is the case, then as long as I strengthen my spiritual power, I will definitely be able to escape.
