Chapter 8: Welcome To The Apocalypse
“Right, dog bites dog, both sides suffer!”
Someone around cursed in a low voice.
Behind everyone, an old man watched the situation outside intently and asked softly to the person beside him, “What do you think?”
Gao Zhe frowned, “That mutated dog is very strong, it can easily pounce and kill ordinary zombies, and its smell is sensitive. Last time when I was looking for supplies, I was almost discovered by it, and ran three kilometers to shake it off, but Su Huan’s supernatural ability is very strange, I’m not sure.”
The old man looked somewhat grave, “You can’t beat that mutated dog either?”
Gao Zhe narrowed his eyes, “Depends on the environment and timing, but in this narrow space, I only have thirty percent confidence.”
“Thirty percent confidence to take it down, that’s not bad.”
The old man breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to himself.
Gao Zhe coughed lightly, “Thirty percent confidence to survive.”
“…”
Seeing that it couldn’t break the car window for the time being, the blood hound glared with its feet and suddenly lunged toward the car door.
Full of fangs, ferocious appearance fully revealed!
But what it faced was Su Huan’s pair of cold eyes and his raised index finger.
“Bang!”
The blood hound flew backward.
After a moment, the blood hound shook its head, staggered to its feet, its entire lower jaw beaten to a mangled mess, but it looked even more ferocious and terrifying.
“Grr… Roar!”
The pain made even its remaining beast instinct disappear, its hysterical howl shaking people’s minds.
It madly charged toward the train.
“Bang!”
Su Huan looked at the dents on the outer wall of the carriage, his mouth twitching.
That was 3mm steel plate!
The sound attracted Yu Jing and her daughter from the front carriage.
Liang Kuan grabbed his axe and was about to step forward, but was stopped by Su Huan behind him.
“Don’t go over, you all retreat!”
Su Huan said calmly.
“Bang bang—crack”
The carriage shook violently.
Looking at the blood hound squeezing onto the train, Su Huan’s mouth curved up. Under the train, he really had no way to deal with this thing, with its tenacious vitality and ferocious attack power.
But on the train, this was his home turf.
…
“Boom—”
The blood hound’s massive body flew backward and crashed into the door. Instantly, glass shattered, the car door twisted, and blood mixed with glass shards splashed backward.
“Crash”
The sounds stopped for a moment, replaced by the blood hound’s painful howl.
These mutated beasts had extremely tenacious vitality, able to struggle for a moment even after fatal injuries.
The youth sitting in the wheelchair stared at Su Huan standing alone in the corridor facing the blood hound, a strange light flashing in his eyes.
Because of his disability, he had seen many vile people, but nothing compared to these past few days after the apocalypse.
Fear, greed, desire, rage…
Only on Su Huan did he see something a bit different.
Qi Xiao Ba raised one hand.
The twisted metal door frames battered by the blood hound came alive like pythons, wrapping around the dying, struggling blood hound with creaking sounds.
“I can’t hold it for long, you…” Qi Xiao Ba said.
Su Huan looked at the familiar metal vines, his mouth curving up. A cold blue electric arc extended from the steel plate on his shoe sole, traveling along the metal vines and striking the struggling blood hound.
While it was in a stunned state, he raised his finger.
“Bang!”
The blood hound’s head snapped back.
Mangled beyond recognition.
Qi Xiao Ba stood stunned in place. For some reason, he had the illusion that the two had cooperated many times before, so tacit without even speaking.
“Phew…”
Su Huan let out a long breath. Although it had only been a short while, his clothes were already soaked with sweat.
He turned around and gave an appreciative look to Qi Xiao Ba sitting in the wheelchair, “Su Huan.”
Qi Xiao Ba was stunned for a moment, then said somewhat shyly, “Qi Xiao Ba.”
Su Huan showed an exaggerated smile, “Welcome to the apocalypse, Xiao Ba.”
…
The passengers who got splattered with dog blood widened their eyeballs.
They didn’t expect that ferocious blood hound to be dealt with so easily by Su Huan.
Looking at the deformed carriage bridge door battered by the blood hound, everyone’s previously restless thoughts instantly cooled.
This damn thing, no point in fighting, better honestly work for the train conductor.
Gao Zhe and that old man were equally silent.
“What type of evolver is he exactly?”
A trace of unwillingness flashed in Gao Zhe’s eyes.
Before, he thought that becoming an evolver would let him easily overthrow Su Huan’s rule, but today he suddenly realized the huge gap between himself and the other!
Like heaven and earth!
That blood hound surpassed him in both strength and speed.
But facing Su Huan’s strange methods, it didn’t even have the ability to fight back.
Clearly both were evolvers who had awakened supernatural abilities, why the huge difference!
The old man beside him sighed and patted his shoulder, “Don’t be impulsive. Hold on a bit longer, figure out Su Huan’s ability, and absolutely don’t alert the enemy.”
Gao Zhe gritted his teeth and pulled off his hoodie, “I know.”
…
Liang Kuan walked over from behind, a trace of lingering fear on his face, “What the hell is this thing, fiercer than the bear-like figure.”
“Blood hound, thing evolved from ordinary wild dogs, way stronger than the bear-like figure. I hit it with all my strength so many times, and it could still struggle this long.”
Su Huan narrowed his eyes and said, the smile fading from his face.
This little interlude served as a reminder that with his current strength, being invincible in the early apocalypse stage was still somewhat difficult.
To avoid capsizing in the gutter, he still needed to leverage his rebirth advantage to accumulate strength.
In the early stage, energizers were too powerless against things like mutated beasts.
The armored train plan needed to be accelerated, and personal evolution had to be put on the agenda as soon as possible.
Collecting his thoughts, Su Huan stood up and said, “Check if you have any wounds on your body. At this stage, the mutation probability will drop a lot, but the incubation period is also longer.”
“Of course, evolvers excepted.”
Su Huan’s last sentence was directed at Qi Xiao Ba.
Qi Xiao Ba’s eyes suddenly lit up, “Why?”
“Because evolvers are equivalent to successful evolution, they’ve already passed that mutation stage.”
Yu Jing nearby looked pensive.
“Is there any way to become an evolver?” Qi Xiao Ba asked immediately.
Su Huan gave him a suspicious look, then looked at the nervous woman behind him and narrowed his eyes, “How long infected?”
The woman opened her mouth, somewhat hesitant.
Qi Xiao Ba quickly said, “About an hour.”
“Still good, there’s a chance. All of you go to the dining car and wait. Xiao Ba, first patch the hole in car 6.”
Su Huan said.
Qi Xiao Ba turned back and comforted, “Xing Zi sis, you go first.”
After the few left, the hopeful light in Xiao Ba’s eyes calmed, and he said seriously, “If Xing Zi sis survives, consider it I owe you a life.”
‘Worthy of Eighth Master, straightforward!’
Su Huan’s mouth curved in his mind.
But his face remained calm, “I didn’t say hundred percent, just a chance.”
