Chapter 1: Scamming Biological Father
In the sky.
“Wrong, wrong, cub, you almost went to the wrong place.” This voice was a little anxious, and chirpy.
Then another soft voice sounded.
“I, I’m so dizzy.”
In a dizzying swirl, she finally turned in the right direction, and after landing, a little girl with skin as white as soft jade, exuding a soft light like an immortal child, spun around dizzily on the ground and then plopped down.
But it didn’t hurt; instead, it was soft.
“Jiyoo!”
Qin Wanwan’s ears twitched, as if she heard something cry out, in a milky voice.
And what she was pressing down on was also soft.
No longer as dizzy, she opened her eyes and met the gaze of a big white-faced tiger with striking eyes.
Qin Wanwan blinked.
Something under her moved, and as she slightly shifted, two little tigers, their bottoms sticking out as they tried to crawl away, plopped to the ground.
They were quite bewildered, staring blankly at Qin Wanwan, the thing that was competing with them for ‘milk’.
So big!
Qin Wanwan scratched her head: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
The big tiger didn’t blame her; instead, it leaned in to rub her chubby cheeks, exposing its soft belly and asking with its eyes if the cub wanted milk.
Qin Wanwan stared, the little cub seemed eager, and it smelled so good.
A parrot flapped its wings over: “Cub, what are you thinking? You can’t drink it, you have milk fruit on you.”
Qin Wanwan withdrew her gaze, a visible hint of regret: “I’m going to find Daddy, bye-bye, tiger mom~”
Standing up before leaving, Qin Wanwan hugged the two boisterous little cubs and petted them.
So soft, so soft~
Then, she trotted away with her short legs, taking small steps.
The tiger cubs were dizzy from her petting, and by the time they reacted, she was gone.
The reason the tiger didn’t attack Qin Wanwan was because she was a Qilin.
A Qilin cub from the heavenly realm, this was her third year after hatching.
The reason she came down to the mortal realm was to find her father.
Qin Wanwan was born with a weak constitution and almost didn’t hatch; her father stole, robbed, and tricked for all sorts of heavenly treasures for her, causing the immortals in the Heavenly Court to complain. Finally, after her condition stabilized, she was punished by the Heavenly Emperor to descend to the mortal realm for a tribulation.
However, the originally smooth destiny was suddenly disrupted by external forces, and if it continued to develop, Qin Wanwan’s father would meet a tragic end.
Knowing this news, Qin Wanwan, who already missed her father dearly, went down to the mortal realm without hesitation, hiding it from her mother and Uncle Heavenly Emperor. She wanted to find her father; she absolutely did not want her father to die tragically.
Qin Wanwan found a large deer and, at night, rode the deer from the depths of the forest towards the destination for her planned encounter with her biological father.
…………
“Cub, your father is a Great General and is about to guard the border pass. If you wait on this road, you’re sure to find him!”
The palm-sized, rouge-colored peony parrot landed on the shoulder of the three-year-old human cub, speaking very swiftly, almost like a human.
“Mhm!”
The little milk bun crouching behind the grass responded vaguely.
Having run out of the forest, she had transformed from a beautiful little milk bun into a dirty little calico cat, her hair all messy.
She was also very sleepy.
She hadn’t slept all night.
“Keke, when will Daddy come?”
The little one leaned against a tree, a haphazardly made grass nest beneath her. Her little chubby hands still held a fruit with many nicks and scratches from being gnawed on. At this moment, she was yawning, her eyes already struggling to stay open.
This sight made the parrot on her shoulder feel immense heartache.
“Cub, hold on a little longer, your father will be here soon.”
“Keke, I want to sleep.”
Under Keke’s encouragement, Qin Wanwan tried for a little longer, her big eyes only managing to open a small slit before closing completely.
Sleep, sleep~
She waited until the afternoon. Qin Wanwan didn’t sleep well either. Although Keke had tried to lay down soft dry grass for her, how could the little one who had lived a life of luxury since birth endure such hardship?
Even in her sleep, she frowned, pouted her little lips, and whimpered pitifully.
In the meantime, she had to gnaw on the fruit in her belly sleepily a couple of times.
Finally, the sound of hooves approached. Bathed in the afterglow of the sunset, a black military flag fluttered in the wind, accompanied by warhorses and the movement of warriors, exuding a sense of grimness.
“Cub! Your father is here!!!”
Keke screamed, flapping its wings and using its beak to tug at the cub’s hair, trying to make her get up.
It’s finally here; if it doesn’t come soon, what if its cub catches a cold!
Qin Wanwan was woken by Keke’s sharp voice, but she was still completely groggy, her mind a little unclear.
“Quick, quick, go out and stage an accident, stage an accident! You must get him to take you away today!”
Qin Wanwan’s little head was muddled, she didn’t understand anything, but instinctively followed Keke’s instructions.
Holding Keke and the half-eaten fruit, she stumbled towards the middle of the road.
Then, without any need for Keke’s command, she performed a flawless fall on flat ground.
And it was face-down.
“Cub, are you okay!!!”
Keke screamed, flying up to tug at her clothes, but unfortunately, its strength was too small to lift her.
Qin Wanwan didn’t speak; she wasn’t okay. Her nose hurt terribly, making her eyes water, and her big eyes turned into egg yolks.
Plop.
Something stopped in front of her.
Qin Wanwan held her little nose and managed to sit up. In front of her were a pair of super long legs.
Belonging to a big black horse.
Looking up again, she saw a horse’s face close by. As for the person sitting on the horse, she couldn’t see clearly because it was too high, and it was already dark.
The tall black warhorse stood majestically, but at this moment, it lowered its head and gently nudged the little bun.
Keke then landed on Qin Wanwan’s shoulder, pretending to be a mute bird. Otherwise, what if it got caught? It didn’t want to be forced to leave its cub.
“General, what’s wrong?”
The general behind them stopped, and the deputy general came forward to check.
Xie Chong said nothing, his eyes fixed on the tiny human in front of him.
“Where did this child come from?”
Xie Chong tightened his grip on the horse reins slightly. If he hadn’t controlled it, his horse would be frolicking around this child.
“Go investigate.”
Xie Chong said two words in a calm, unruffled voice.
“Yes!”
Qin Wanwan reacted. She hugged the horse’s head and stood up, her dark eyes staring at the person on the horse, then she said something astonishing.
“Daddy!”
