Chapter 12: The New Order
After the gods redefined the cosmic order, they all condensed their physical forms.
The current universe is already colorful and diverse; only by having a physical form can they better enjoy this universe.
The Goddess of Night Nyx was once again accepted by the Celestial Pantheon. The gods allowed Nyx to integrate into the rules of the universe, and she has a share in the supreme honor of the universe.
Nominally, Aether and Hemera have become her children again, though their root still belongs to the Celestial Pantheon.
Cronus and the gods reformulated the new cosmic rules, which all gods must obey. If violated, the gods will unite to crusade against the offender and jointly maintain the newborn order.
There was no method; Cronus could not, like his father Uranus, possess absolute power to control everything.
Even though it was extremely unwilling in its heart, at present, it could only compromise, carefully maintaining the newborn and fragile cosmic order together with the gods.
But just like what all kings do, after Cronus firmly sat on the divine throne of the God King, it unhesitatingly began to gradually centralize power.
It newly created numerous mortal and spiritual objects. As the God King of Creation, it fully exercised its authority within the world, making the world colorful and diverse, thus earning the unanimous respect of the gods.
Afterward, it invited the Mother Goddess Gaia to construct Mount Othrys together. This divine mountain, which grew alongside heaven and earth, serves as the common home of the Titans, the center of the cosmic order, and the location of the God King’s supreme divine throne.
Its authority became increasingly stable, its power increasingly formidable, and similarly, its desire for centralization burned ever more fiercely.
Subsequently, it created numerous elemental beings on the Earth; these beings were like deities.
They do not age, have extremely long lifespans, and are free from pain, disease, and toil. The Earth naturally yields abundant harvests, providing ample food without the need for cultivation.
This was Cronus’s first large-scale creation of sentient beings, so it treated them extremely well, and there was also a scheme behind creating these sentient beings.
However, it was also very cautious; the intelligence of these elemental beings was not very high, and they were deprived of most of love and desire.
They have no strife, are kind and gentle in temperament, and loyally worship the gods, making them the gods’ ideal subjects.
Their deaths are also filled with peace. The Titan Weaver of Death Iapetus treats them very well, weaving for them a death in beautiful sleep, without the slightest pain.
And after death, the souls condensed from their spirituality will be granted divine gifts by the Earth Mother Goddess and the gods, becoming earth spirits.
Or be taken by the gods to their abodes in the universe( different constellations. At this time, the constellations were not yet named; they were clusters of celestial bodies formed by combinations of stars in the starry sky).
The current universe is still too empty and desolate; advanced sentient beings distributed throughout the universe are truly pitifully few.
Creating life is simple, but creating higher sentient beings requires care; it is truly not an easy task.
The gods are too solitary. Although these elemental beings are somewhat dim-witted compared to the gods, they are still higher sentient beings.
Moreover, they are so gentle and loyally worship the gods, so the gods are naturally willing to favor them.
Therefore, death is instead eternal life for them; after sleeping, they can follow the gods to their divine kingdoms.
This era is called the Golden Age by later mortals, and these beings are called Golden Humans, but in reality, they are elemental beings.
These elemental beings are good in every way, except that they are always caught in the crossfire.
That is naturally due to the Hundred-armed Giants and Cyclopes, mainly the Hundred-armed Giants.
They are too enormous and too powerful. Even though heaven and earth are constantly expanding, the Hundred-armed Giants are simply too big and too rowdy.
Their casual play is a terrifying disaster for the elemental beings, like a natural calamity descending.
Or rather, a disaster for all life.
Heaven collapsing and earth splitting, sky falling and ground caving in, is the most realistic reality.
The cosmic starry sky beyond the world is vast enough, but only the laws within the world are the most complete, and the life within the world is the most colorful and diverse.
The universe is too barren and desolate, lacking beautiful vitality.
The countless celestial bodies outside the world were created by the Heavenly Father Uranus; their essence is merely to maintain the framework of the world, serving as a barrier against Tartarus.
Only the Earth is the place beloved by the Heavenly Father, the true cradle of life.
Only where both heaven and earth exist, and the laws of heaven and earth along with many other laws are complete, can it be called a true world.
Within the world is the gods’ true home, the place the gods truly love.
The celestial bodies of the universe are merely the gods’ villas for enjoying quiet or resting well; a casual tending is enough, no need for meticulous construction.
With that effort, it is better to further expand the world and make the homeland more beautiful.
The gods are busy constructing heaven and earth and cannot keep up; who has the idle time to bother constructing those “quicksands” that disperse with a wave of the hand?
This also quickly led to the Hundred-armed Giants incurring the wrath of the gods. Cultivating advanced sentient beings is not easy, but they destroy most of them with casual rowdy, which gives the gods headaches.
If it were just normal deaths, the gods would not care.
But the destruction they cause is not normal death; it is direct and complete annihilation by their absolute power, the power capable of piercing matter, from which even souls can hardly escape.
This was deliberate by Cronus, a pure open scheme, and one with the tacit understanding of all Titans.
It fears and hates the formidable power of the Cyclopes and Hundred-armed Giants.
It is the god of creation, growth, and harvest, yet the authority of clouds and rain, crucial to it, is similarly held by other deities.
And there is the even more terrifying thunder and lightning thunderbolt, with its incomparably fearsome might. Every time it sees it, it recalls the father’s past anger, that suppressed terrifying memory.
Of course, it also knows that its other brothers and sisters feel the same.
That terrifying thunderbolt is the psychological shadow of all Titans.
Cronus cannot tolerate their existence in the world; the other Titans feel the same—no one wants these giants in the world.
Moreover, the three Hundred-armed Giants occupy too much space, completely hindering the expansion and integration of its power within the world.
Thus, Cronus used the giants’ destruction of elemental beings as a pretext, leading numerous Titan Gods to demand that these six giants leave the world, exiling them to the vast, empty, desolate universe.
Even the Mother Goddess Gaia had nothing to say about this, as she could not refute that the Hundred-armed Giants indeed brought chaos to the world.
Faced with the resolution of all Titans, she could only comply.
After this event, Cronus truly established its own authority.
Not only the gods’ respect, but also the gods’ awe—it now possesses.
