Chapter 24: Past And Present Lives
This was the first life from outside the world to appear in the Ocean, and it was such stunning flowers, beautiful to the extreme.
Even in this Ocean Current that devours everything, they could bloom safely, brimming with vitality.
All Gods could clearly feel the profound blessing of Mother Goddess Gaia contained on this Flower Crown.
It must be known that in this Ocean Current, even Oceanus’s Divine Palace was condensed from Pure Water.
Except for a few high-grade Divine Artifacts gifted by the Gods, nothing could exist in the Ocean Current.
Numerous Daughters of the Ocean vied to request to appreciate that Flower Crown, and the gentle Metis was not a stingy God.
However, facing her sisters’ requests, she firmly refused.
They could look, but not touch, and certainly not let others wear it.
This was her cherished Gift.
In an instant, she harvested gazes of envy from countless Oceanid Goddesses.
Especially one of her younger sisters—Eurynome, whose eyes were glowing, truly glowing, and her envy was turning them red.
As for Zeus, after He returned to the world, He no longer had the relaxed smile from before Metis, replaced by a deep solemnity like an abyss.
He knew clearly that the true campaign officially began from this moment.
This was a grand gamble concerning the future of the Universe and his own destiny.
Rebelling, especially rebelling against the God King, challenging that supreme Authority, without the resolve to die, was absolutely impossible to succeed.
Even if there had been a successful “Outcome” in memory, it was merely a brief summary of a few words on paper, glossing over the blood and fire within.
In reality, many things could not be redone from the beginning, with no chance of a do-over.
The success of many things was inherently filled with chance and luck, impossible to simply replicate.
In true execution, any slight negligence would inevitably lead to a tragic result.
Rebellion had truly zero margin for error. One wrong step, and there was no return.
Every step required utmost caution and care; no matter how meticulous and steady, it would not seem excessive.
Once failed, it was even far more terrifying than death.
Life in Tartarus was truly worse than death, an eternal endless torment and torment.
Compared to life in Tartarus, death seemed so lucky and beautiful, even a luxury.
What they now wanted to overthrow was God King Cronus!
The truly invincible God King now! Absolutely invincible!
The great titles He possessed could not fit on a sheet of paper! His Authority covered almost every inch of the Entire Universe.
Facing such a God, if one could still relax, that would be truly foolish and self-destructive.
After all, in his previous life, he had only lived over twenty years on a small blue planet, leading the most ordinary peaceful and comfortable life.
It was during a trip to Athens in Greece when a thunderbolt from a clear sky struck without warning, prematurely ending his ordinary life.
Who knows why there was Thunder on a clear day!
That Lightning split open the past and also split open the future.
Perhaps it was also fate’s karma.
The foreshadowing of destiny had long been laid.
Because his name in his previous life was also Zeus!
His family name was the rare surname “Zeus,” and his father, who loved Greek mythology, somehow named him “s.”
One could only say this name was too bold; fortunately, born in the great Eastern country, there was no taboo against this name, merely attracting some unusual gazes.
Thinking about it was frightening; if his family surname had been Zhang and his father named him Zhang Bainren, he might not even need to go to Greece—he wouldn’t reach adulthood in the East before welcoming a thunderbolt from a clear sky.
When he opened his eyes, he saw an utterly bizarre scene, a fantastical image indescribable by language or text, as if immersed in an ocean of Concepts.
If forced to describe it, it was countless points and lines, countless strange colors, forming an infinitely complex, bizarre, and profound “world.”
Yet he felt no strangeness toward this “world,” as if it had some ancient connection with his Soul.
After an unknown amount of time, perhaps just an instant.
When he opened his eyes again and truly saw the real world, it was such an infinitely vast and magnificent world.
Vast and boundless, inspiring awe, yet also infinite expectation.
Becoming Zeus was an infinitely wonderful thing; this nearly omniscient and omnipotent Great Father God, His divine life was a story as satisfying as it gets.
But! He became it too early!
Before becoming God King, Zeus had to go through the deadly Titan War to rise to power!
That was a bloody slaughter for the Authority of Ruler of the Universe!
And this process, in his previous life, was merely a few hundred words on paper, glossing over countless hardships and blood and fire.
Heaven knows what Zeus felt in his heart when lying in the cradle hanging from the tree, seeing the divine mountain that exhausted mortal imagination yet remained unimaginable.
That Divine Mountain towered imposingly, piercing the Stars, as if it were the pillar of the world.
This was the highest-spec mythology world!
Every inch of land was filled with Divine Power, every scene bore traces of Laws, the world’s scale unimaginably high!
Numerous Great Gods possessed terrifying Authority and Power indescribable by mortals; even within Him, He could sense that infinitely terrifying Power.
Those Curetes who only symbolically covered for him, these powerful Demigods—not to mention his previous life’s small planet without the supernatural—placed in any ordinary mythology world, each would be a top-tier powerhouse.
But under him, he could clearly feel they were beings he could casually smash with a wave of his hand, utterly insignificant.
This world’s scale was indescribably high, its vastness indescribable, surpassing any known dimension or imagination.
There was still no concrete concept of Time; from infancy to now, an unmeasurable amount of time had passed, a number beyond counting.
The more he understood this world, the more he knew its magnificence and unfathomable depth.
A pure Matter continent comparable to the Solar System—this was an unimaginable existence!
Its poles so vast that even the speed of light from his previous life would take one or two years to traverse, and this world was still rapidly growing! And never stopping!
The Solar System was large, but full of empty Cosmic Space; that bit of Matter compared to the Solar System’s diameter space was almost no different from nothing, impossible to describe with proportions between Matter existence and empty space.
A casual small hill here was larger than the sun from his previous life! That magnificence was simply suffocating.
The energy density of this continent was outrageously high!
Casually toss a few stones into the Universe, and they become a planet; toss a small hillock, and it becomes a massive Star.
At first, Zeus didn’t dare imagine how strong the sun god of this place would be!
Later he learned that the concept of the sun god was not a single sun, but the God of Starlight!
And gods like the sun god, in front of his own mother goddess, didn’t dare speak loudly, every sentence requiring honorifics!
His own incomparably beautiful mother goddess, Goddess Queen Rhea, seemed beautiful and fragile, but was actually the Incarnation of the Universe’s foundational Laws; her strength was simply indescribable.
One drop of her tears was a Demigod; in truth, if she willed it, one drop of tears could directly shape a God.
A true God.
But even a Great God like Mother Goddess Rhea, likewise a Primal Titan, before the current Second Generation God King, still had no possibility of resisting His Will.
The God King Zeus now faced, the one he wanted to overthrow, was such a God King, the truly invincible God King.
The mythological tales before Zeus became God King amounted to barely one or two thousand words.
For Zeus’s current situation, they couldn’t be said to be useless, but their use was truly limited, barely comforting.
Relying only on that bit of knowledge from his previous life to overthrow the God King was frankly too over the top in difficulty.
To put it bluntly, it was simply wishful thinking.
That Divine Mountain growing with the world’s growth was visible with a glance.
Mount Othrys, representing the God King’s infinite Majesty, the Divine Mountain of the Order Center, the invincible God King was right there.
Infinite terrifying pressure constantly weighed on Zeus’s head, never disappearing for a moment. Compared to Zeus’s situation, the pressure of the Sword of Damocles seemed utterly insignificant.
He had used countless time, exhausting everything to grow, until now perfectly mastering his Authority, with Power increased to the limit, having learned as much cosmic information as possible, before resolving to act!
But even so, Zeus dared not be careless, much less reckless; rebelling against the God King had zero margin for error!
No mistakes allowed at all!
The intricate, multi-version legends known from his previous life could be trusted, but only a little.
Daring to take them as gospel would surely lead to death without burial!
Most likely even worse, falling into a state more terrifying than death.
After much deliberation, Zeus decided that steady was most important!
Walk the path that had already worked, minimizing Risk!
For Sentient Beings, the most important was Wisdom! That was the power to see through everything and turn the tide!
For all things, plan before acting—that was the way to victory!
He must first gain the support of the Goddess of Wisdom, first weaken the God King, making the invincible God King beatable.
He must first tear open the God King’s invincible facade, then win the support of most Gods, letting Them see hope, see the possibility of overthrowing the old Order.
Only thus could he steadily achieve final Victory!
Countless sages and cases told Zeus that Arrogance and Recklessness led only to death; only humility and steadiness ensured success!
Everything is hardest at the start; now he had to take this hardest, yet most important and crucial first step!
