Chapter 32: Journey To The Ocean Current
Zeus spotted Metis at once. She followed behind the two Titans, wearing that unique Golden Flower Crown on her head, which was particularly eye-catching.
Zeus stealthily raised his eyebrow at Metis, but Metis remained calm and unruffled, as if she hadn’t seen it.
Oceanus, the Leader of the Titans, the incomparably great Ocean Current encircling the World—his body was as vast as the Ocean itself.
He bore the heavy burden of expanding the World and was an important upholder of Cosmic Order.
He was an incomparably majestic Titan, yet his demeanor was quite gentle, his heroic face bearing a hearty smile, clearly in excellent spirits.
The warm and moist Tethys was a gentle and stunningly beautiful woman, as tender and tolerant as the warm currents deep in the Ocean. The joy overflowing in her eyes at this moment was also hard to conceal.
Zeus stepped forward first, embracing the two Titans respectively, and said in a sincere and respectful tone:
“Great Son of Uranus, great Lord of the Great Ocean, God encircling the World; great Goddess who moistens all things, it is my honor to see you.”
Oceanus showed no arrogance at all, treating Zeus completely as an equal existence. He laughed heartily: “Honored guest, sacred Son of Rhea, welcome your Arrival, which brings joy to the Gods like the return of the Tide.”
With that, he nodded to Rhea in salute: “Great Goddess Queen, welcome your visit. The Great Ocean has long awaited your Arrival. We have been looking forward to it eagerly. Your Arrival brings immense glory to the Great Ocean.”
Rhea nodded in return and smiled: “My Brother, thank you for your continued support and protection.”
Tethys stepped forward to embrace Rhea, holding her arm and laughing: “Today is truly a day worth celebrating. This is the reunion we have long awaited!”
“Mm~ And that event that gladdens the Gods. Let’s go home first and celebrate!” Her Voice was gentle and filled with Joy. The Goddess who moistens all things made every God feel Warmth and Closeness.
The Gods returned to the Divine Palace together, escorted by numerous Ocean Gods.
After entering the Divine Palace, Oceanus had the Children withdraw, leaving only Metis as the one Child.
Now, only these five Gods remained inside the Divine Palace, and the Atmosphere silently shifted from noisy relaxation to Solemnity.
The enthusiastic Oceanus got straight to the point. He restrained his smile, his face bearing Seriousness and Respect, and said solemnly:
“Illustrious Zeus, you have accomplished a great feat unmatched by any God, severely damaging the God King’s Majesty.”
“This has not only helped too many Gods, but also vented the pent-up resentment for too many Gods.”
“That includes me, relieving the resentment pent up in my heart for many years. Here, please allow me to thank you. Your courage and resolve fill me with admiration.”
Zeus’s expression turned solemn, and he hurriedly replied: “Great Oceanus, my Success could not have been achieved without the Great Ocean’s help. The beautiful and wise Metis helped me; it was her Wisdom that guided my direction.”
“Here, I express my most sincere gratitude to you and Metis.”
Oceanus smiled. Zeus’s Attitude left him both satisfied and reassured.
He continued: “Respected Zeus, I know the purpose of your visit, but I still have some Doubts in my heart that I wish you to resolve.”
Zeus nodded with a smile: “Please speak.”
Oceanus said gravely: “What is your ultimate Objective? Do you intend to completely overthrow the God King’s Rule and establish a brand New Era, or merely to seek Self-preservation and stop here?”
The sharp and majestic Gaze of the Ocean Current fixed directly on Zeus. He needed a clear Answer.
Zeus gently shook his head and said: “The Order of the World today is too poor. All Gods are firmly restricted, unable to enjoy the World’s beauty. What I want is to construct a brand new Order, a Universe where all Gods can share, the most splendid New Era!”
Zeus’s Tone was extremely firm: “Before achieving this Objective, I will not stop!”
Oceanus asked: “Then, do you have the confidence and Plan to defeat the God King? Though I hate to admit it, I must concede that the God King is the most powerful and unshakable existence among the Gods.”
Zeus smiled confidently, full of composure: “Great Son of Uranus, just like you once were, how could I rebel against the God King without sufficient confidence and a definite Plan?”
“Though I do not possess the captivating Wisdom of your Daughter, I am not that stupid, am I?” Zeus made a playful remark to ease the overly Heavy Atmosphere, while secretly giving Metis another Gaze that fooled no one.
His smile carried seriousness as he continued: “The God King’s Power has already been weakened too much by me. He is no longer that aloof and invincible ruler.”
“At the same time, I have freed my siblings and gained the aid of numerous united Comrades. One declines while the other rises—the God King is no longer invincible.”
“Moreover, I have gained the Recognition of the great Mother Goddess of All Things, and the support of the Lady of Night.”
“My Mother Goddess, the great and sacred Rhea, stands by my side. Too many Gods are Dissatisfied with the God King’s Order—what possibility of failure do I have?”
“I will surely succeed!”
Oceanus nodded lightly and asked the most important question, which would decide how much he would invest.
“Then, great Zeus, if the God King is truly overthrown, how should the Honor of the Gods now be allocated?”
Zeus said earnestly: “Great and noble Son of Uranus, majestic Eldest Son of the Heavenly Father, I Promise you here that I have no intention of damaging the Honor of any God among the noble Gods!”
“I guarantee to all Gods that I will defend the Honor of all Gods, preserve everything the Gods now possess, and allocate to all Great God Offspring the Honor they deserve in the New Era!”
“What the Gods already have, I will let them have more; what they lack, I will grant them, so they too can enjoy the World’s beauty!”
“The Gods will jointly enjoy the World’s beauty and share the World. I will build an Order of collaborative Sharing among the Gods.”
“The Gods will each perform their duties and control their own Honor, but the Gods can also share each other’s conveniences, collaborate with one another, and develop together.”
“Sky, Earth, Ocean, Starry Sky—these should belong to the Gods. The Gods will enjoy the World’s beauty together, with no more Limitations or oppression!”
“We will together formulate an Order that accords with the Gods’ Intentions. If the Gods have any disputes, the Gods will jointly Judgment them, fairly and justly, through common consultation!”
Oceanus nodded again and asked the final key question impassively:
“Noble Zeus, the other Son of God King—Poseidon. He was conceived from Cronus’s theft of the sea and Ocean, as well as the Mother Goddess’s Divine Authority.”
“How will his Honor be divided?”
