Chapter 48: Meeting, Call A Meeting Quick
Styx saw the affable smile on Zeus’s face and personally came out to greet him, her heart filled with ecstasy. She then pulled Pallas along and quickly walked up to Zeus.
She respectfully knelt on one knee: “Respected Son of the Goddess Queen, future Master, illustrious Zeus, Styx has come to await your command.”
Pallas also knelt on one knee. Though his tone was slightly nervous, he said firmly: “Respected Zeus, your will is Pallas’s will. I wish to pledge my allegiance to you!”
Their children followed suit, kneeling on one knee and swearing allegiance.
Zeus laughed heartily and invited them to rise, asking them to enter the divine palace together and feast with the gods.
Pallas and Styx have four children, two sons and two daughters. They are:
Nike(Nike) goddess: symbol of victory, her figure always accompanies success and victory.
Kratos(Kratos): symbol of power and authority, he is the representative of power and majesty.
Bia(Bia) goddess: symbol of violence or raw force, she represents primal, irresistible might, the incarnation of pure power.
Zelus(Zelus): symbolizing competition, passion, and the desire for glory, he possesses courage and fervor, tenacity and stubbornness.
They will be Zeus’s most loyal lesser gods, forever by his side.
It is precisely because they forever follow Zeus that they can become invincible gods, incarnations of power and glory.
Because victory forever stands only behind the victor.
They are with Zeus.
And Zeus forever triumphs.
Of course, they currently have no honors to speak of; they are mere small fries.
It had not been long since then when Pallas’s brothers followed suit, arriving one after another.
It was clear that they each harbored their own little thoughts, secretly competing among themselves for the position of “first to pledge allegiance,” wanting to leave the deepest impression in Zeus’s heart.
Crius’s eldest son Astraeus, along with his beautiful wife Dawn Goddess Eos and their four sons, arrived at Olympus at the fastest speed.
They now have only four sons, the Four Winds.
East Wind God: Eurus(Eurus);
South Wind God: Notus(Notus);
West Wind God: Zephyrus(Zephyrus);
North Wind God: Boreas(Boreas).
These pitiful third-generation Titans jointly hold authority over the winds and should enjoy a lofty status in the universe.
Yet now they can only drift aimlessly in the cosmic starry sky, not permitted to enter the world.
Even though they can unleash cosmic storms that tear everything apart, before God King Cronus, they are no different from a gentle breeze.
Arriving with Astraeus were also Hyperion’s children: the radiant Sun God Helios and the pristine Moon Goddess Selene.
Because their little sister Dawn Goddess Eos is Astraeus’s wife, their family ties are the closest, so they agreed to come pledge allegiance together.
However, when they saw the Styx family already comfortably seated in the divine palace, the smiles on the faces of these later-arriving gods could no longer bloom so happily.
They were too late!
Zeus did not care about their petty thoughts. On the contrary, seeing that they were not so united made him feel much better.
He laughed heartily and held the first grand feast for the rise of the new gods on Mount Olympus, solemnly welcoming the arrival of the gods.
It was also to celebrate their successful repulsion of God King Cronus’s first attack, establishing the prestige of the Olympian gods.
The last to arrive was Perses. This Titan had not yet married Star Goddess Asteria, and they were not yet familiar.
He came alone, his pursuit of honor not yet strong.
The entire Olympus was immersed in joyful feasting, with song and dance, a new atmosphere prevailing.
At the same time, the atmosphere atop Mount Othrys was comparatively heavy.
Or rather, oppressively suffocating.
After the God King summoned the gods, ultimately eight Titan Gods responded by coming.
Goddess Queen Rhea certainly would not heed him, nor would the Ocean God Couple.
The Oceanic Pantheon had gone all in on Zeus, Metis no longer hiding, not pretending at all, completely breaking ties.
The other Titans, whatever thoughts they harbored in their hearts, ultimately all chose to come.
Besides the Primal Titans, there was also Mother Goddess Gaia and Lady of Night Nyx, Bright Aether Aether and Daylight Hemera, and Sea God Pontus.
In terms of numbers, the two sides were not far apart.
But in terms of hard strength, the gap was too great, simply worlds apart.
However, the good news was that Zeus’s side was now fully united.
As for Cronus’s side…
If it came to a real fight, he feared he would be ganged up on.
His once intimately close allies, merely standing by now was already the most they could do for him.
One misstep, and they might immediately turn traitor for a backstabbing blow.
The only one who brought his children was Death Weaver Iapetus, this staunch supporter utterly loyal to the God King.
Cronus had long ago conquered Iapetus completely with his fearless courage and unmatched power, the great feat of separating heaven and earth, parting the mingled world, and sending Supreme Heavenly Father Uranus into eternal deep sleep, winning his heartfelt submission.
Over these countless ages, the Iapetus Family had received Cronus’s generous favor; they were the God King’s most steadfast supporters and his most trusted arm.
He brought his three sons—Atlas, Menoetius, Prometheus—to aid with full force.
However, his wife, Oceanid Goddess Clymene, did not come.
Iapetus’s three children were all outstanding among the second-generation Titans, capable in both civil and martial affairs, with extraordinary strength.
They were the only family to receive Cronus’s preferential treatment.
Cronus had granted their family extraordinary honors, so his family(except for wife Clymene) were basically Cronus’s diehards(though the clever god Prometheus wasn’t that diehard).
The gods gathered in the Mount Othrys divine palace. Cronus sat high on the God King’s throne, his deep eyes sweeping over the gods below who were expressionless and indifferent, his heart growing ever more furious.
Especially with the Goddess Queen’s seat beside him empty, such a huge mockery fueling the rage burning in his heart even more.
Now in his heart, he secretly regretted it. If only he had destroyed this empty seat earlier; he had been too lost in thought and forgotten.
Now with all the gods assembled, it was not convenient to act anymore, or it would be even more embarrassing.
Cronus slowly spoke, his tone exceedingly sincere, his usual majesty dissipated, replaced by warmth.
“Root of the universe, foundation of the cosmos, respected gods, it has been some time since we gathered together. Here, I offer you my most sincere sentiments of longing.”
