Chapter 71: Poseidon: What Could Possibly Be Wrong With Me?
After Zeus slightly separated from Demeter, he looked around at the gods, revealing a warm and confident smile, “Please rest assured, everyone, I have everything under control in my heart, and I will never be in danger.”
“My dear brothers and sisters, dear comrades, we never need to worry about temporary gains and losses. A momentary victory or defeat is not important; everyone’s safety is the foundation of Olympus.”
“Only if everyone is safe can I forever charge fearlessly at the forefront. You are my strongest support!”
Then, Zeus turned his gaze to Poseidon, who was still not in a good state, his eyes full of concern and comfort, and he asked warmly, “My dear brother, Poseidon, are you alright now?”
Poseidon, clearly still not in a good state, barely squeezed out an ugly smile.
In this campaign, he was the most severely injured, his divine body battered terribly by Coeus.
Of course, as long as it wasn’t completely destroyed, recovery would be quick.
The divine body of the Law God is ultimately not the foundation; the difficulty lies in raising the limit, not in recovery.
Although he was the most severely injured, the gods cared most about Zeus. Being neglected, he inevitably felt a bit jealous, but Zeus’s concern still warmed his heart.
Seeing the gods’ gazes all turning toward him following Zeus’s words, he naturally responded stubbornly, “Just a minor injury, what could be wrong with me? Not worth mentioning!”
At this point, Poseidon gnashed his teeth, seething with hatred, his furious voice almost squeezed out through his teeth: “I was merely sneak attacked by those two despicable cowards who have no glory whatsoever, using despicable means!”
“They, as Primal Titans, noble sons of Uranus! Yet they have no glory whatsoever, acting so despicably, carrying out such a despicable sneak attack!”
“Next time, I will make them pay the price! Make them pay an unforgettable price for today’s despicable actions!”
Hearing this, Zeus abruptly stood up, raised both arms high, and let out a heroic laugh full of power. The laughter was filled with confidence and strength, echoing endlessly inside the hall.
“It will happen! It certainly will! My dear comrades, I guarantee you that all gods who dare to oppose us will pay the most painful price for their choice!”
“Everyone has worked hard in this campaign! What could be more important than a post-war feast?”
Zeus spread his arms toward all the gods, issuing the most sincere invitation: “My dear comrades, let us begin the feast! Use the finest divine wine and most delicious ambrosia to relieve your fatigue!”
Inspiring words came from his mouth: “This momentary defeat is only because the opponents abandoned glory! But such despicable tricks will only succeed for them this one time!”
“After today, they will have no more opportunities!”
“Victory will surely belong to us! It will only belong to us!”
As Zeus’s words fell, the entire Olympus Temple instantly erupted in thunderous cheers.
The slight gloom and haze from the defeat, under this declaration full of hope and power, and in the atmosphere of the upcoming feast, finally completely dispersed.
The faces of the gods regained the radiance befitting gods, filled with confidence once more!
After the gods became immersed in the feast, Zeus keenly noticed that Metis’s emotions were slightly low and melancholic.
He subtly gave an imperceptible glance to Mother Goddess Rhea, who immediately understood and quietly took over the lead of the banquet, presiding over the temple’s revelry with a dignified and gentle posture.
Amid the noise, Zeus unobtrusively came to Metis’s side, his tall and majestic body slightly bending down, whispering gently in a voice only they could hear, tenderly inviting her: “My dear bright-eyed goddess, would you like to leave this noise with me, go outside for a walk, and clear your mind?”
Metis nodded slightly and stepped out of the noisy divine palace with Zeus.
The figures of the two gods strolled side by side on the prosperous and brilliant Mount Olympus, flowing with sacred radiance.
In this short time, Mother Goddess of All Things Gaia had already used her supreme power to fully repair the world wounded by the flames of war.
The cracks torn in the earth had healed, the collapsed mountains stood tall again, and various flowers, plants, and trees once more covered the earth.
Only those lives completely destroyed in the terrifying divine war could not be salvaged.
Blossoming flowers, lush vegetation, rich fragrance permeating the gentle breeze. Yet there were no bird songs or butterflies; the entire world was exceptionally silent, silently empty.
A gentle smile graced Zeus’s handsome face as he gazed caringly at the clearly downcast Metis, speaking first in a soft voice: “This time was just a minor setback, but the advantage is still with us, and we’ve probed the God King’s hidden helpers.”
“In truth, we haven’t truly lost anything; victory still leans toward us.”
“So, my dear bright-eyed goddess, what heavy worry is it that prevents your smile from appearing on your delicate beauty?”
Zeus paused, his voice low and magnetic, filled with infinite comfort and tenderness: “How I wish to let you know that not seeing your radiant smile pains me more than this small defeat.”
Zeus’s words of sweet talk successfully rippled deeper in Metis’s heart, but instead made her feel even more melancholic and guilty.
She lightly furrowed her elegant brows, her cherry blossom-like delicate lips slightly pursed, her voice as gentle as a breeze over the ocean, yet carrying a hint of obvious bitterness.
“Zeus, the God King’s sudden helper this time might, might be because of my existence.”
“The two great gods of intelligence were originally low-key and silent, rarely involved in disputes. Their relationship with the God King is not particularly close.”
“With their wisdom that sees through everything, they wouldn’t fail to understand the current situation or know how dangerous it is to help the God King now.”
“Yet, this time they unusually stepped in to help the God King.”
“It must be because the God King learned of my existence and exaggerated my threat, thus persuading the two Titans to act.”
“With the God King’s helpers, winning this war for us will become extremely difficult.”
Zeus thought to himself, this silly girl, feeling guilty over such a thing when she bears no responsibility at all.
But on the surface, he nodded in agreement, subtly echoing, “Yes, that does seem like the real reason they acted; they must have felt your threat to them, forcing them to help the God King.”
