Chapter 84: Prometheus Is Getting A Bit Panicked
The entranced goddess’s words were filled with unconditional trust in and worship of Zeus.
Zeus lowered his head and gazed at the delicate goddess in his embrace, temporarily pausing his mischief, the smile on his lips becoming even warmer and brighter, like spring sunlight sprinkling across Metis’s heart.
His smile, enough to captivate any goddess, made Metis utterly reluctant to look away.
The exquisitely beautiful face of the goddess of wisdom shyly averted her gaze slightly, yet she pressed even more closely against Zeus’s chest.
She continued softly, “Since Prometheus already knows the final outcome, a god as wise as him will surely choose to pledge allegiance to the victor.”
“He should be thinking of his father and brothers, hoping that after defeat, he can beg you for forgiveness for their sins.”
Metis paused, then said softly, “Perhaps, there is another layer of meaning.”
“That is, he might want to use this to ‘tarnish’ your reputation, making you appear in the eyes of the gods as a god king with a narrow mind.”
“If you do not accept him, or even strike at him directly, many gods will become vigilant toward you, even disappointed.”
“In that case, this war might give rise to more complications and twists.”
Zeus nodded lightly, a playful smile reappearing on his lips: “It seems this god known as having ‘foresight’ has truly given me a choice that seems ‘to have no choice’.”
“No matter what decision I ultimately make, it appears to be a advantageous arrangement for him with no harm.”
Metis shook her head, her soft purple hair lightly brushing Zeus’s arm: “Not entirely. As long as you give him sufficient respect and do not strike at him, even if you ultimately do not accept him, it will not produce too great a negative impact.”
Zeus neither affirmed nor denied this, merely asking softly, “Then, my love, do you think we should accept him?”
Metis pondered for a moment, then said earnestly, “We should accept him. We should strive as much as possible to win over every power that can be won; we must not push away the enemy’s sage.”
“Whether he will fully help us or not, as long as he no longer helps the god king, that is already tremendous help for us.”
“Moreover, this can demonstrate our attitude to the gods: we only wish to overthrow the decadent order, with no intent to punish those innocent gods or those not stubbornly loyal.”
“We should give the gods more choices: choose allegiance to you, and we welcome them all; choose to remain neutral, and we respect that.”
“Only those stubbornly decadent gods firmly loyal to the god king will face our most severe strike.”
“God King Cronus has never given the gods true choices; all the gods know well that apart from pledging allegiance to him, even neutrality is tantamount to betrayal. Compared to that, their hearts will naturally lean more toward us.”
“Furthermore, even the family most loyal to the god king has a god coming to join us; does that not even more prove that we are destined to win the final victory?”
Zeus suddenly kissed Metis’s pretty face, nodding with a smile:
“My love, what radiant brilliance you possess! You have infinite beauty and wisdom; you make my heart so soft and tender, you make my mind wise and bright. With you accompanying me by my side, final victory is already predestined, with no uncertainty.”
“My love, we are truly of one mind; your ideas are completely the same as mine.”
Never underestimate the power of words, especially sweet talk.
After the daily sweet talk, Zeus continued, “Father and child are not necessarily the same; since there is a god willing to come pledge allegiance to me, how could I refuse him at the door?”
“How could the god king’s magnanimity be so narrow? The god king’s magnanimity should be as vast as this boundless universe!”
Zeus looked up, his gaze piercing through the divine palace’s lofty dome toward the endless sky, smiling: “All gods in the universe, as long as they are willing to embrace the order of light, I, Zeus, will accept them.”
“Because I am the sky.”
His simple words contained boundless confidence and grand magnanimity; the immensely firm voice echoed like a great bell in the palace, awe-inspiring.
Nestled in her lover’s broad, warm embrace, Metis slightly raised her fair little head, gazing entranced at such a Zeus.
Her beautiful eyes now brimmed with autumn water, clear and deep, as if able to drown all starlight; she was nearly entranced.
Zeus lowered his head again, tenderly kissing the lips of this bright-eyed goddess.
Letting the goddess of wisdom once again feel the wondrous and unfamiliar sensation never before experienced by her divine body.
Her wisdom seemed to instantly fly to the ninth heaven, drifting through the vast starry river, unable to return to her body no matter what, leaving only pure and ultimate happiness and joy.
Zeus savored the sweetness brought by wisdom; that taste was simply a hundred times sweeter than the richest, most delicious divine wine in the universe, making him unable to resist sinking into it, unable to extricate himself.
After gently parting, while wisdom had not yet recovered rationality, this fickle yet charming god lord whispered sweet talk softly: “My love, having you is my eternal luck; we are of one mind. How I wish to let you see the depths of my heart, where I love you so enthusiastically.”
“How I wish my heart to forever be filled with the radiance of your wisdom. My love, please accept my humble and sincere love; please never leave my side.”
At this moment, the originally lofty and calm divinity of the goddess of wisdom was floating in a daze.
Her golden eyes were filled with fascination and attachment, tightly locked on her lover’s face.
Trembling, she raised her hand, gently and preciously caressing Zeus’s handsome, sculpture-like face, her voice carrying irrepressible deep affection: “My love, great and illustrious Zeus, my lord, my love for you is as deep as yours for me.”
“No matter how beautiful the world itself may be, my world has become truly beautiful only because of you.”
“Forever and always, I will accompany you by your side, no matter what lies ahead.”
“My love, Metis swears to you here: you are my love, my lord, my father, my everything; I am forever loyal to you, never betraying!”
This fickle god lord, who was incomparably deep in affection at certain moments, was truly deeply moved at this instant.
He tightly embraced the wisdom goddess in his arms, who was dazed and confused by emotion, quietly enjoying this infinite warmth and softness, as well as Metis’s love completely surrendered to him at this moment.
After a good while longer, until Metis’s divinity finally gradually recovered clarity from that ultimate happiness, she rose and brought the already anxiously waiting Prometheus before Zeus.
The Prometheus with foresight was now truly a bit panicked.
