Chapter 73: Shelving Announcement

From a plot perspective, the content break these past two days is just right. Although it’s not a big satisfying point for shelving, it’s at least the middle of a long-term case being shelved.
This book, published for thirty-five days and with 190,000 words, time flies. This time I received a strong recommendation for a new book, and I’m quite happy about it; the results should be much better.
Then, tomorrow, Monday, the shelving day, there will be 5 chapters of 5000 words each, totaling 25,000 words. Tuesday will have 2 chapters of 5000 words and a combination of 3 chapters of 3k, 3k, and 4k words.

For convenience, my additional chapters are not like others where one chapter is two thousand words; I release three chapters totaling ten thousand words over three days, so the rules for additional chapters are relatively high.
Additional Chapter Rules:
Rule One: For every thousand monthly votes, an additional ten thousand words will be added （, equivalent to five chapters ）. This difficulty is not particularly high. With my rapid updating speed, I will reach the monthly vote count and can usually add one chapter per month. Furthermore, only when monthly votes reach one thousand does the author have a chance to win a lottery, though it’s usually around one hundred yuan.
Rule Two: For the first Alliance Leader, an additional twenty thousand words will be added.
My previous book, a sentimental one, did have two Alliance Leaders. At the time, seeing the string of zeros, I thought the system had malfunctioned. After confirmation, I was incredibly excited.
I won’t dare to hope for Silver Alliance Leaders and the like.
Rule Three: Average Order and First Order, these are the most crucial.
It’s really difficult to estimate the specific data.
On Monday, there were 2400 fake follows and 1668 true follows. The following days showed a fluctuating curve. In the industry, it’s generally calculated at 0.6 to 0.7.
To be realistic, at 0.6, it’s exactly 1000. For every hundred more, add five thousand words; for two hundred more, add ten thousand words.
I’m really unsure about this first order. Because the data I’ve recently learned shows that one book with two thousand fake follows only had a first order of 680. Another with three thousand two hundred fake follows had a first order of 1400. However, they are light novels, and it seems the author community doesn’t have high expectations for light novel first order ratios, so the requirements for light novel comparisons are quite high.
I won’t go into the logic behind this in detail.
Average Order is the key.
In twenty days, I had a first order of 1050 and the average order increased to 2500, which mainly relies on intelligent recommendations distributed based on different update volumes.
So, starting from 1000 average order, for every 300 average order, add ten thousand words. 3000 average order is considered excellent, and excellent average order will get an additional ten thousand words. （ For that book with 1400 first order, it reached three thousand average order within ten days. I also want to dream a little ）.
Let me share some thoughts.
In the past 6 years, or even more than ten years before that, I’ve slept before twelve o’clock very few times, probably no more than 30 times.
But in the past week, I’ve adjusted my schedule to sleep before 10:30 PM, trying to sleep and wake up early. （ Suddenly changing my biological clock makes me wake up easily in the middle of the night, which is why you see me replying to some comments at three or four in the morning ）.
In my previous popular book, I couldn’t control its plot. Because its plotline was very singular, focusing on Chinese sentiment, that kind of Chinese mythology, and a singular combat plotline. If I didn’t write it that way, readers would easily abandon it.
With this book, I find it much richer to write.
However, the further I write, the more things I need to remember in my mind. It’s impossible to forget some characters or rules while writing.
I believe novels have realms; the higher you go, the stronger your control over the overall narrative becomes.
I used to have a smooth life, but I stumbled in my novel writing, and there’s a lingering frustration.
I also want to challenge myself. Changing my schedule isn’t just about being a writing robot; it’s mainly about improving my mental state. When my state is good, writing is indeed much easier, and the content is more enjoyable.
I can vaguely sense a barrier in front of me, wanting to break through, yet feeling it’s difficult.
Blustering in the author’s notes and making empty promises is meaningless. I can only say that the excitement of High Martial lies mainly in the mid to late stages, and I will do my best to write it well.
In my mind, writing well means something like “The Magic Doctor” (Full-time Magician), expanding from the initial Bo City to the entire world, making every character encountered and every place visited lead to further exploration （ This is what I personally consider the biggest bottleneck in novel writing ）.
To prevent anyone from arguing that I dare to compare it to “The Magic Doctor,” I emphasize that this is just what I aspire to achieve in my heart. What it ultimately becomes, no one knows.
