Chapter 179: Pretty Humanized
“Mm, it says that when they were little, they weren’t here; only after growing up a bit were they sent here.”
“It also says that once they grow a bit more, they can leave here…”
Shi An’an furrowed her brows. “So, this place is just for them to grow up. When they’re little, they lack survival ability…”
Suddenly, Shi An’an thought of the group of little Star Beasts she had seen underground on Edge Star before.
“Did it say where it lived when it was little?”
Shi An’an looked at the place ahead where the Star Beast figures had already disappeared and asked.
“No.”
Shi An’an turned to look at Xiu. “Before, my Eldest Brother and Brother Lin were captured by Star Beasts and taken to a Star Beast Nest.”
“You mean underground on Federation Edge Star?”
“Mm-hmm, that’s the place!”
“That place has lots of very small Star Beasts. Besides the little Star Beasts, there are adult Star Beasts.”
“So, these Star Beasts most likely came from there.”
The two speculated.
Shi An’an and Xiu flew onto the boulder and looked at the Star Beasts below.
The leading Star Beast was now surrounded by a group of Star Beasts.
“Roar!!!”
The leading Star Beast very reluctantly placed Mint on the ground, then roared at the surrounding Star Beasts.
The other Star Beasts bounced around happily. Then, Shi An’an saw all the Star Beasts line up, one by one coming forward to lower their heads and sniff Mint.
After each Star Beast sniffed, it bounced happily and ran to the back of the line to queue again.
In the middle, one Star Beast tried to cut in line and was ganged up on by the ones in front and behind.
Finally, that Star Beast was chased out miserably and couldn’t approach Mint…
Shi An’an and Xiu watched this scene below, exchanging a glance, not knowing what to say.
“These Star Beasts…” Shi An’an spoke up, then paused.
“Pretty human-like?” Shi An’an thought for a long time and finally came up with a suitable word.
Xiu’s expression was grave. “They have no malice toward humans now. Why do they attack humans after leaving?”
“Could they be brainwashed?”
“Or controlled?”
“Or gone stupid?”
…
Shi An’an kept guessing.
Xiu listened to the increasingly outrageous guesses and chuckled.
“Let’s go, back to the cave.”
“Okay.”
Xiu extended his palm.
“Hm?”
Shi An’an looked at Xiu in confusion.
Xiu’s ears turned slightly red. “My Spiritual Power is used up. I need you to take me back.”
Shi An’an glanced at him, sensing that he still had plenty of Spiritual Power on him, but she didn’t call him out.
Looking at the slender, broad palm in front of her and feeling Xiu’s quickened breathing, Shi An’an’s lips curved up.
“Sure.”
Shi An’an reached out her hand and placed it on his palm.
Xiu immediately gripped her hand tightly. Shi An’an took Xiu and flew toward the cave.
Along the way, neither spoke. Though they had held hands and flown together before, now a feeling of affection spread in their hearts.
“We’re here.”
They landed. Shi An’an looked at Xiu and said, signaling that he could let go.
Xiu directly pulled Shi An’an into the cave, pretending not to see An’an’s signal.
However, after just two steps, Xiu’s face darkened.
Shi An’an looked at the narrow gap, holding back a laugh. “You can change back to Tudou!”
A flash of amusement crossed Xiu’s face. “Okay.”
The next second, the cute and adorable little Tudou appeared in front of Shi An’an.
Seeing Xiu in Tudou form, Shi An’an completely lost the previous awkward shyness and directly picked up Tudou.
“If you were always Tudou, that would be great. Then I could carry you everywhere!”
“Even if I’m not like this, you can still take me everywhere you go.”
“Don’t talk!” Shi An’an poked Little Lion’s head. “You’re Tudou now, and Tudou can’t talk!”
“…” Xiu helplessly closed his mouth, fully cooperating with Shi An’an.
“Master!”
Wali heard the movement outside and excitedly ran out to greet his Master.
“Good disciple!” Shi An’an saw Wali and was also very happy. This was her first disciple!
“Master, you’re back.”
Wali walked up to Shi An’an, his attitude very respectful.
“Mm, back to the cave first.”
“Yes, Master.”
After Master went ahead, Wali hurriedly followed.
Suddenly, Shi An’an turned to look at Wali.
Wali stopped, looking at Master in confusion, not knowing why she had stopped.
Shi An’an looked at Wali’s legs, pondering his legs. Once they got out and returned to H11 Star, she would have Mother and the others heal him.
“Nothing. Let’s go.” Shi An’an turned and continued walking inside.
Wali hurriedly followed.
“His legs are probably due to nerve damage.” Xiu glanced at Wali’s legs and sent Telepathic Transmission to Shi An’an.
“Yes, probably when those people modified his body, they accidentally damaged the leg nerves. The bones and such are fine.”
“Bones are easy to heal. For nerves, it requires advanced medicine to recover.”
Xiu added, “However, the final recovery depends on his luck.”
“Why? Can’t the medicine make him recover?” Shi An’an asked, puzzled.
“If it’s damage to flesh, bones, or internal organs, it can be healed, but for nerve damage…
You know, human nerves are very complex. There are medicines to repair nerves now, but if the damage is severe, it might not fully recover.”
Shi An’an fell silent after hearing this.
“I understand.”
“Your Highness, you’re back!” Fei’er saw His Highness in Shi An’an’s arms and immediately called out respectfully.
In front of the people, he had to maintain the proper image.
Xiu jumped down from An’an’s arms and reverted to human form.
Yina also walked over, happily looking at the two.
Shi An’an looked at Yina and said, “We discovered that the Star Beasts here have no hostility toward humans. Their temperament is gentle. Even toward animals, they don’t harm them.”
“Why? Could the Star Beasts here be a different species from those outside?” Fei’er guessed.
Yina also spoke up. “Over these years, I’ve noticed these Star Beasts see us but don’t attack. However, I can’t get past the hurdle in my heart. Seeing them makes me afraid.”
“Every time corpses are thrown out from that black hole, they disdainfully dump the corpses in the same place.”
Wali added.
“So, I suggest we don’t rush to leave. I want to investigate why these Star Beasts become violent and bloodthirsty after going out…” Xiu looked at everyone and said.
“If we can find the reason and solve it, it will be of great help to us humans!”
Shi An’an nodded in agreement. “At the very least, humans won’t have to worry about sudden Star Beast attacks anymore. The soldiers on Edge Star won’t have to fight bloody battles and lose their lives…”
