Chapter 34: The Eldest Young Master’s Act of Kindness
“Long time no see, it’s been a full month, hasn’t it?” Zhong Yang said. He had always wanted to ask Lian Li to hang out, but she always rejected him, saying he was a bad influence.
A soft smile bloomed on Lian Li’s lips. “Brother Zhong Yang.”
After finishing her instructions with the staff, Xue Shufan turned and briefly greeted them before pulling Lian Li into the club.
Jin Shiyue’s gaze drifted casually, and the first thing he saw was a round head.
Her hair was tied into a bun with a simple black hair tie, revealing her slender neck and ears that were flushed red from the cold.
Zhong Yang and a throng of people followed closely into the club and changed into their skiing gear.
As a beginner, Lian Li was not very skilled and spent a lot of time getting dressed. By the time she slowly finished changing into her ski suit, Xue Shufan was already fully geared up.
Xue Shufan took the safety gear and fastened it properly for her, saying with her head down, “Your studies were heavy before, and you had to practice piano. Now that you finally have free time, if you don’t exercise, your bones will get moldy.”
The highly intelligent Junior Sister was a mental athlete, not a physical one, and rarely exercised.
“Thinking and using your brain is also exercise,” Lian Li argued, “Using your brain consumes no less energy than physical exertion.”
Xue Shufan: “Then why don’t you have even half a muscle after exercising your brain so frequently for so many years?”
Lian Li said, “I do. You just can’t see it.”
Xue Shufan moved behind her and pulled the strap to fasten the double D-ring. “Muscles you can’t see, like the Emperor’s New Clothes, right?”
Lian Li felt her waist tighten and laughed, “Mental muscles are harder to train than physical ones.”
A smile touched Xue Shufan’s heroic face. “You haven’t grabbed your ski poles yet. Go to the lounge first; there’s food and drinks there.”
“Okay.”
Hugging her ski helmet, Lian Li emerged from the changing room and followed the signs to the lounge.
Inside the lounge, the dining area and sofa area were clearly separated.
As Lian Li entered, a staff member in a work uniform approached and asked what she needed. Lian Li said, “A sandwich and a cup of hot milk, please.”
“Certainly, please wait here for a moment.”
Lian Li wanted to find a window seat with a view of the ski resort. As she searched inside, she unexpectedly spotted a familiar figure.
Jin Shiyue was leaning against the sofa, holding his mobile phone in one hand, looking down as he messaged someone.
He was wearing a black windbreaker today, which added a touch of sharpness to his handsome and distinct features.
He looked even more unapproachable.
Just as Lian Li hesitated about whether to greet him, Jin Shiyue had already lifted his eyelids and looked over.
The girl’s feet were clad in white ski boots, and she was wearing a white ski suit. The slightly puffy ski suit made her already small head appear even smaller.
She held a white helmet in her arms. Her safety gear consisted of small turtle-shaped pads on her knees and a slightly larger one on her thighs and waist to protect her hips.
Their eyes met, and Lian Li greeted him, “Brother Shi Yue.”
Jin Shiyue appraised her. “White?”
Lian Li looked down at herself, entirely in white from head to toe, then looked back up at him. “Is there a problem?”
“Good choice,” Jin Shiyue said casually. “If you buried yourself, no one would find you for three days and three nights.”
The snow was white, and she was white; it was indeed not easy to distinguish her.
But she would never bury herself alive!
Lian Li ignored his teasing and sat on the sofa diagonally opposite him. Within two minutes, a server brought her food.
After sending his message, Jin Shiyue placed his mobile phone on the sofa and glanced at the milk in her glass cup.
The drink was also white.
Lian Li ate slowly, occasionally looking out the window. On the snow-covered ski slopes, figures could be faintly seen gliding by with ease.
When she was almost done eating, Xue Shufan sent a message saying she and the club staff were in the lobby.
Lian Li picked up the helmet from the sofa and put it on her head.
The helmet seemed to be at odds with her head; she struggled with it three times without success.
Jin Shiyue, sitting casually on the sofa diagonally opposite, propped his temple with his long fingers, watching her with a noble air of amusement.
He commented with a hint of mockery, “Your mouth is just for show.”
“Oh.”
Lian Li was not annoyed and held the helmet in her arms again.
She picked up her phone, about to leave, when a heavy shadow suddenly fell beside her. Immediately after, the helmet was snatched away with irresistible force.
Lian Li looked up, but before she could make sense of it, her hair suddenly loosened. Her hair tie was pulled off, and her smooth, long hair cascaded down, falling onto her shoulders.
Jin Shiyue placed the helmet over Lian Li’s head. As his fingers hooked the strap, his calloused fingertips brushed against her face.
Lian Li felt a slight tickle, and her long lashes fluttered.
A flash of cold, white, slender fingers crossed her vision, followed by a soft “click” by her ear. Then, the helmet settled firmly on her head.
Lian Li’s eyes remained fixed on Jin Shiyue’s high-bridged nose, feeling quite bewildered.
The Eldest Young Master showing kindness was so unaccustomed.
“You’re only happy to be by yourself and don’t speak, don’t you know the helmet feels wronged?” Jin Shiyue chuckled lightly.
Lian Li: …He was saying she was mistreating the helmet?
Just as she thought, how could the Eldest Young Master be so kind.
Lian Li raised her hand and touched the helmet on her head, its texture cool.
She didn’t argue with him. “My Senior Sister is calling me, I’m leaving.”
Jin Shiyue didn’t respond, but Lian Li didn’t mind and left without looking back.
In the lobby, Lian Li brought Xue Shufan a hot drink. Xue Shufan took it, so touched she wanted to kiss her considerate Junior Sister.
Lian Li, having anticipated this, dodged with a smile.
Putting on her sunglasses and gloves, Lian Li, holding her ski poles, followed Xue Shufan to the ski slope.
The weather was clear today, the sun wasn’t too strong, bright but not scorching, perfect for outdoor activities.
“Hey! Pei Qingji!” Xue Shufan cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted to Pei Qingji in the distance.
Pei Qingji skied over, pushed up his sunglasses, and said elegantly, “Is there anything I can help you with?”
“Are there any extremely good-looking coaches at the ski resort?” Xue Shufan asked directly.
Her Senior Sister was always straightforward and never beat around the bush, so Lian Li didn’t feel awkward.
Hearing the call, Zhong Yang also skied over quickly.
Pei Qingji asked Zhong Yang, “Are there any coaches at the resort today?”
“No, the Young Master cleared the area, there are hardly any staff,” Zhong Yang looked at Xue Shufan. “You know how to ski, don’t you? You can teach Li Mei.”
Xue Shufan said, “Do you think I haven’t considered that? My methods are a bit rough and not suitable for Li Li.”
Her secret when learning was to just fall a lot until you got it.
The Junior Sister had a good brain; she couldn’t afford to fall.
If something serious happened from a fall, she would regret it immensely.
Pei Qingji and Zhong Yang heard this and their gazes fell on Lian Li simultaneously.
Xue Shufan had won a skiing competition in her youth, defeating many experts to take first place. She was a renowned skiing master, but later severed ties with the Xue Family and no longer participated in competitions.
If Xue Shufan said it wasn’t suitable, then it truly wasn’t.
Pei Qingji said he would go find someone. “Any requirements?”
Xue Shufan thought for a moment and said, “Good physique, high attractiveness, excellent skills, quick reflexes, and adept at handling all kinds of crisis situations.”
Sliding down the ski slope from the mountainside, there were always dangers, so she needed a coach who could ensure Li Li’s safety.
Passersby who overheard the requirements chuckled, “Miss Xue, your requirements are too high. There are very few people in the entire skiing world who meet them, let alone someone who can be here immediately.”
Pei Qingji pondered.
As if seeing something, Zhong Yang’s eyes suddenly lit up. “No need to find anyone, we have one ready!”
He pointed in a direction.
Lian Li turned her head and saw two figures.
Jin Shiyue had changed into a black ski suit and was walking slowly ahead of the staff.
