Chapter 79: What The Hell Are You Doing To My Head!
Nan Yuanman followed the lingering scent of grievance all the way from the sixteenth floor to the banquet hall on the first floor.
It was still early, and the banquet hall was being decorated and not yet open to the public, with staff coming and going frequently and noisy sounds inside.
Nan Yuanman’s chubby little hand pushed the door, and she slowly poked out a round little head, cautiously and carefully observing the staff inside.
She could smell that the grievance lingering here was the strongest.
But strangely, the staff in the banquet hall were all normal, with no ghost energy or lingering grievance on them.
Nan Yuanman frowned tightly with her little brows. Could it be that she came too late? Had that vengeful ghost run away?
Nan Yuanman was not reassured and feared the vengeful ghost was hiding in the dark harming the staff, so she moved her little steps, hunched her waist, and sneaked in stealthily like a dog.
When Jiang Xinxin sneaked over, she happened to see the scene of Nan Yuanman stealthily sneaking in, full of a sneaky vibe.
She blinked, instinctively following along, and turned on the recording function on her watch. Finally, she caught Nan Yuanman doing something bad. She would record the footage of Nan Yuanman doing bad things to show her uncle!
She didn’t believe that after her uncle saw the video of Nan Yuanman being so naughty and disobedient, he could still like her!
At that moment, Nan Yuanman had arrived outside the restroom in the banquet hall.
As soon as she approached the men’s restroom, she smelled a very strong rotten stench coming from inside, accompanied by clattering sounds of things falling to the ground.
Just at that moment, the banquet hall was testing the sound system, and the noisy music covered up the sounds coming from the men’s restroom.
“Oh no! The person inside is in danger!” Nan Yuanman looked at the restroom door overflowing with ghost energy, her small face serious. She pulled out a copper coin sword in one hand and a talisman in the other, rushing inside.
Gou Dan, who had just wandered around and come back: “!!!”
He panicked and chased after her: “Perfection! You can’t go in there!”
That was the men’s restroom! Not a place for a little girl to go!!
Nan Yuanman didn’t listen to him. After bursting through the door, she saw a young man lying one meter from the doorway.
A vengeful ghost full of vigorous ghost energy was crouched on the young man. The vengeful ghost had an extremely tragic deathly appearance, with large areas of corrosion wounds on his body, almost no good flesh on his face, and his eyeballs had popped out of their sockets, hanging outside by a thin tendon, swaying constantly with his movements.
Seeing the vengeful ghost’s blood-red eyes, Nan Yuanman’s steamed bun face was especially serious. This vengeful ghost had already been eroded by grievance and lost its reason!
The young man was struggling desperately, his face full of despair, not daring to open his mouth to call for help, afraid that if he opened his mouth, the eyeball would fall into it.
When Nan Yuanman rushed in, the young man thought he was saved, but upon seeing that tiny figure, his face became even more despairing.
Yet he still shouted at her, risking eating the eyeball: “Kid! There’s a ghost! Run—!”
The music outside was too loud, and Nan Yuanman didn’t hear clearly what the young man said for a moment, thinking he was fearfully shouting for help, and hurriedly comforted him: “Big brother, don’t be afraid! I’ll come save you right now!”
With that, she gripped the copper coin sword and charged forward.
Young man: “!!!”
I told you to run! Not to come deliver yourself to death!
He powerlessly closed his eyes.
Fine, time to die.
He hoped that when this ghost ate him, the kid would react and run away quickly!
Nan Yuanman glimpsed him closing his eyes, and her heart sank. Oh no! The person had fainted! She had to fight quickly and decisively!
The vengeful ghost sensed danger, let out a low roar, and swiftly leaped from the young man toward her. Carrying the anger of being interrupted while feeding, sharp black fingernails emerged from his hand as he attacked Nan Yuanman.
The vengeful ghost that had lost its reason was extremely aggressive. Luckily, Nan Yuanman had many talismans, was small, and moved nimbly; otherwise, being grabbed by his claw would mean death or at least a layer of skin peeled off.
When Gou Dan hurriedly floated in, he saw the little girl being forced onto the sink counter by the vengeful ghost. Her originally styled hair was slightly messy, and the bag slung across her waist had been eroded by grievance, its strap broken, clutched tightly in her hand.
Nan Yuanman was very angry. She stood on the sink counter, pointing the copper coin sword at the vengeful ghost below: “I’m angry now! You ruined the bag Grandpa made for me! You bad guy!”
After roaring, Nan Yuanman charged at the vengeful ghost again, and Gou Dan hurriedly floated over to help her.
He was a living soul and couldn’t mobilize ghost power like the vengeful ghost, but… his fists weren’t for show!
With Gou Dan’s help, Nan Yuanman finally dispersed most of the grievance on the vengeful ghost, and its reason gradually returned.
He was pinned under Gou Dan, crying out: “I was wrong! I was wrong! Don’t hit me! Don’t hit me!”
Nan Yuanman squatted in front of him, tilting her head to look at him. Once she saw the vengeful ghost’s bruised and swollen face, the redness in his eyes faded, restoring the clarity from before his death, she spoke up to stop Gou Dan: “Okay, Gou Dan, he’s regained his reason. Don’t hit him anymore.”
Gou Dan took a deep breath, his face gloomy as he released the vengeful ghost.
The vengeful ghost lay on the ground for a few seconds before slowly crawling up, hissing as he inhaled sharply, clutching his face and fearfully retreating a few steps, stammering: “Who are you guys? Why did you suddenly hit me? I don’t even know you. That’s too much, wuwuwu…”
Before he finished speaking, the vengeful ghost suddenly burst into loud cries, crying so aggrievedly and miserably: “I was sleeping fine at home, why did you hit me, wuwuwu, it hurts so much, wuwuwu…”
Nan Yuanman: “???”
Gou Dan: “…??”
The little girl went from shocked to at a loss, looking at the vengeful ghost in front of her who seemed about to shatter, at a loss for what to do: “Aiya, don’t, don’t cry! We didn’t mean to hit you. You were eating a person first, and I hit you to save him!”
“What eating people! Don’t wrongly accuse me. I’m a big good citizen. Even when starving, I eat dirt instead of people!” The vengeful ghost was so aggrieved that his one intact eye bulged like a poached egg: “Besides, I’m a person! How could I eat people!”
Nan Yuanman was stunned and instinctively looked at Gou Dan. Gou Dan frowned, realizing something off about the vengeful ghost before them.
He said solemnly: “You’re already dead.”
The vengeful ghost cried back at him: “You’re the dead one! I’m living fine! Why curse me for no reason!”
Gou Dan’s brows furrowed with irritation, and he roughly lifted the vengeful ghost from the ground, making him face the mirror in the restroom: “Look at yourself. With that appearance, can you still be a living person?”
The vengeful ghost instinctively looked at the mirror, and upon seeing himself in it, he let out a sharp scream: “Ah—!!!”
The young man lying on the ground, resigned to his fate but discovering he wasn’t dead and peeking with open eyes: “Aaaah—!”
Screams comparable to a male soprano rose and fell in the restroom.
The vengeful ghost’s eyes rolled back, and he fainted from fright at himself.
The young man looked at the man carrying the vengeful ghost, whose half face was occupied by black red silk thread, looking even more like an evil ghost, his face deathly pale, scared to the point of nearly wetting himself.
Mommy! Another new ghost came! Heaven wants me dead!
Damn it! Why hasn’t he fainted yet!
Stupid brain! Faint already!
Nan Yuanman then remembered there was still someone lying on the ground and hurriedly asked him: “Big brother, are you okay…”
“Ah—!” The young man shuddered in fright, his eyes rolled back, and he finally fainted, a happy smile involuntarily on his lips.
Finally, no more facing ghosts.
Nan Yuanman: “!!!”
She hurriedly ran over and pinched his philtrum: “Big brother, pull yourself together!”
Just then, Jiang Xinxin’s voice, tinged with excitement, rang out from outside: “Uncle, I just saw Nan Yuanman run in here, and I heard screaming inside. She must be doing something bad in there!”
