Chapter 11: Dreaming
Through hypnosis, Li Yingqi learned from Yun Wenwen’s mouth that the other party was exactly the master of the live streaming room. The truth was infuriating and also made one unable to help but feel pity.
Soon, Yun Wenwen was also under Li Yingqi’s control and told herself the storage locations of all her voyeuristic recording videos, and stated that she also had a backup stored in an internet cloud drive.
With remote assistance from the technical personnel of the Mysterious Group and their tireless efforts, it took one night to finally check all dangerous factors several times over, and they also conveniently helped clean up the voyeuristic videos of the other innocent victims.
After Yun Wenwen’s all backups and existing videos were thoroughly deleted, Yu Lianyun felt as if some bad thing had quietly slipped away from her body. With her extremely high inspiration, she immediately realized that the thing leaving her body should be the curse from the video tape, and she was truly overjoyed.
Yu Lianyun was happy that her fate of impending death had been changed, while the Mysterious Group and others were immensely relieved for having saved the world.
As for Yun Wenwen, this girl who had gone astray, everyone unanimously decided to give this younger sister a complete life. With one phone call, she was handed over to law enforcement officers. What awaited Yun Wenwen afterward would be lifelong unforgettable suffering and atonement.
By the time the voyeuristic incident was confirmed to have ended, Yu Lianyun and Li Yingqi returned to the hotel, and it was already six o’clock in the morning of the next day. Having stayed up all night, they could no longer resist their fatigue, collapsed onto the bed, and both fell asleep.
In a daze, Yu Lianyun felt a euphoric sensation. She galloped through the flower sea of the dream, laughing wildly and shouting freely. It had been a long time since she had such a beautiful dream.
But soon, she realized that this time also did not seem to be a good dream.
Running, running, Yu Lianyun saw a stone well standing in the flower sea. Upon seeing that familiar stone well, Yu Lianyun’s smile stiffened along with the frozen spacetime.
“Why…… why, haven’t I already…” Yu Lianyun was dazed in disbelief, terror gathering in her pupils.
Yu Lianyun turned to run, but upon looking back, she discovered a wall behind her. The surrounding environment suddenly changed; the flower sea shattered into pieces like torn wallpaper, revealing the true environment she was in: an old house full of dry yellow fallen leaves and devoid of any vitality. That stone well which should have been behind her now appeared in front of her once again. No matter how she shifted her line of sight afterward, the stone well and environment seemed to rotate with her, making it completely impossible to avoid.
Yu Lianyun panted heavily as she retreated, squeezing against the wall behind her. Her horrified gaze stared fixedly at the stone well that seemed engraved in her eyes and imprinted in her mind.
Silently, a pale withered hand with five fingers covered in blood stretched out from the well, gripping forcefully onto the edge of the stone well.
Witnessing this eerie scene, Yu Lianyun wanted to close her eyes to not look, hoping to comfort herself with “out of sight, out of mind.” However, she found her eyelids as if being pulled tightly open, unable to close. Her whole body also could not move, as if fixed in place by an invisible power. Thus, she could only watch wide-eyed as the shocking and unconventional image continued to unfold.
She saw a disheveled pale woman with both hands on the well edge, slowly poking out a head. That one eye exposed amid the hair was staring straight at Yu Lianyun. That eye had red eye sockets, devoid of any vitality, with a clearly visible “Lu” character imprinted in the pupil.
At this moment, Yu Lianyun completely understood that escaping the disaster, surviving the ordeal—those were all just her own assumptions.
That curse had no intention of letting her go at all. The woman in white who met a tragic death recorded in the video tape still locked her as the next target to kill.
Therefore, the “seven days” symbolized by Qi had dropped to the “six days” symbolized by Lu.
Why exactly was this? Could there still be some uncleaned recording? Yu Lianyun could not help but think.
Just as Yu Lianyun thought that the terrifying woman in white would only frighten her at present and not climb out of the well again, the other party seemed to sense her thought. The woman in white, who was originally preparing to let go of her hands and fall back into the well, suddenly changed her movement and jumped out of the well all at once, exposing her twisted deformed body, charging toward her rapidly in a strange crawling posture close to the ground.
The woman in white’s movement speed was extremely fast. Yu Lianyun almost had no time to react and could only cover her face with both hands, screaming in despair.
But after a dozen seconds passed, Yu Lianyun still felt no sensation of being touched, only a gust of wind whistling past her side.
Opening her eyes to look, the woman in white—whose other facial features were almost completely absent except for a pair of eyes—was now within arm’s reach. Yu Lianyun’s heartbeat stalled. The two locked eyes, both widening their eyes—one out of terror, the other revealing ferocity.
Feeling her ears wet, Yu Lianyun glanced sideways with her peripheral vision and saw several strands of the woman in white’s hair turning into black snakes like Medusa’s snake hair. They brushed past Yu Lianyun’s ears and tightly wrapped around something behind her.
Yu Lianyun’s spine chilled. Looking back, she saw a monstrous hand with only four claws emerging quietly from a spatial wormhole behind her. From the ferocious giant hand’s intending movements, the other party actually wanted to grab her.
Seeing the familiar icy chill emanating from the monstrous hand, Yu Lianyun immediately realized that this monstrous hand was the extradimensional creature behind the nameless female corpse.
That extradimensional creature had indeed appeared, and it had just tried to take her away!
The woman in white was actually saving her!?
But Yu Lianyun quickly dismissed her overly one-sided thought. The woman in white was not trying to save her but simply did not want the human she had targeted to be influenced by other powers. To the woman in white, Yu Lianyun’s pure body and highly sensitive soul were her best food.
Therefore, the woman in white was now fighting the extradimensional creature attempting to seize her body. This snake hair entanglement tightly locked the arm that was no longer under control and trembling. The woman in white let out a low roar of unclear meaning, her hair contracting, actually trying to drag the extradimensional creature hiding behind the wormhole out.
The woman in white’s hair was quite tough, and her strength was outrageously great. In no time, she dragged more than half of the extradimensional creature’s body out of the spatial wormhole.
The extradimensional creature revealed its ferocious twisted appearance in front of Yu Lianyun for the first time: hunched waist, humanoid-like, with a third arm growing from the back where a human should not normally have one, deformed face with unidentified wax-like liquid wriggling, body covered in overly dense muscle lines—that was the extradimensional creature’s true form.
Seeing clearly the extradimensional creature’s appearance, Yu Lianyun felt a chill reapproach her, and her perceived body temperature dropped sharply again.
Yu Lianyun wanted to dodge but was caught in a dilemma, because the anomalies on both sides wanted to kill her. After a moment, Yu Lianyun gritted her teeth and decided to hide behind the woman in white. At least the woman in white would not let her die right now, while that extradimensional creature might. The other party came with killing intent. Although she could not fully understand the extradimensional creature’s language, her intuition told her she absolutely could not side with that one.
The woman in white did not speak, merely gazing indifferently at that strange creature from the dimensional realm. Then, she suddenly widened her eyes, her pupils trembling slightly. Her hair like strips of black snakes suddenly tightened, and the extradimensional creature’s limbs and head were completely pulverized. The extradimensional creature vanished without a trace on the spot.
Worked overtime until very late today, got home at ten o’clock, ate dinner, and after a shower it’s almost eleven. After rewriting chapter eleven, I have completely no energy left. I’ll make it up for everyone tomorrow.
