Chapter 58: You Want To Sleep With Me
That day, number 7, was a Tuesday. Meng Shuyou asked Madam Kasa for a day off and could only return on Friday evening.
“Who are you going to Florence with?” Madam Kasa asked casually.
Meng Shuyou told the truth: “Mister Kerwin.”
Madam Kasa smiled and teased, “A date?”
Meng Shuyou quickly denied it, “Not a date, attending a banquet and looking for inspiration on the side.”
“It’s indeed a good place over there, the birthplace of the Renaissance, with a strong artistic atmosphere.” Madam Kasa gave her advice, “Uffizi Gallery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and Piazzale Michelangelo—you can visit them if you have time and gain some good inspiration.”
Meng Shuyou nodded, “Okay.”
The night before departure, she packed clothes in her room.
Besides daily necessities, she also brought a set of paintbrush, paint, and sketch paper. The 18-inch suitcase was just full.
Winnie’s video call came in.
Meng Shuyou answered it while closing the suitcase with her other hand.
Winnie had just gotten up and was eating breakfast in the hotel room, “What are you doing, Yaoyao?”
Meng Shuyou picked up the suitcase and stood up, “Packing, going to Italy for a few days.”
Winnie took a bite of fruit and guessed blindly, “With Mister Pei?”
“Yeah.” Meng Shuyou lay back on the bed to rest for a bit.
Winnie propped her cheek with her left hand and asked in a lowered voice, “How’s progress between you two? Have you done what you’re supposed to do?”
Meng Shuyou held up her mobile phone, her expression unnatural, “……No.”
“Not yet? You two are progressing way too slowly.” Winnie unintentionally glanced at the red mark on her collarbone and narrowed her eyes with a smile, “Yaoyao, why do you have a strawberry below your neck.”
Meng Shuyou realized and quickly pulled up the collar of her pajamas.
Blame Pei Yuzhou—he just liked leaving marks on her body.
Winnie laughed out loud, “Why so shy.”
Meng Shuyou changed the subject, “I heard Mister Zhao is back in the country. Have you been in touch?”
Winnie’s smile faded, and just as she was about to speak, the doorbell suddenly rang.
“I’ll get the door first.”
She put her mobile phone on the dining table and walked to the door.
The door opened, and Zhao Hesong stood outside, “Slept with me and planning to deny it, Miss Winnie?”
Winnie immediately covered his mouth, “Keep your voice down.”
Zhao Hesong pushed her hand away and walked inside, “What, hiding a man inside?”
Winnie closed the door, hurried back to the dining table, picked up her mobile phone, “Yaoyao, I’ll tell you next time, bye.”
Meng Shuyou stared at the mobile phone screen in a daze.
Did she just hear something she shouldn’t have?
What kind of development is this?-
The next morning at eight o’clock.
The private plane took off from Kennedy International Airport, heading straight to Italy.
An eight-hour flight. Meng Shuyou watched a movie alone in the front cabin to pass the time, while Pei Yuzhou held a video conference in the room to handle work.
He wasn’t idle even on the airplane.
Meng Shuyou only saw him during meals.
In the latter half of the flight, she slept for a while. When she woke up, it was already dark.
The airplane landed at Italy International Airport; it was ten o’clock at night there.
The night was heavy, with lights wandering in the empty terminal area.
The cabin door opened.
Meng Shuyou followed Pei Yuzhou off the airplane.
Several bodyguards behind them handled the luggage.
They left the airport via the VIP channel, with a business car waiting outside.
The night wind was strong, blowing coolly. Meng Shuyou sneezed.
Pei Yuzhou lowered his gaze to look at her, “Cold?”
Meng Shuyou was only wearing a sleeveless silk dress and rubbed her arm, “A little.”
Pei Yuzhou threw the suit jacket from his hand into her arms, “Put it on.”
The scent of agarwood brushed past her nose.
His clothes were too big; when put on, they were as long as her dress.
The car drove all the way to a private manor.
The butler had received notice in advance and was waiting at the doorway.
To his surprise, this time Mister Pei had actually brought a girl with him.
Miss Meng looked around at the surroundings, vast green spaces and woods encircling it, retro architecture that retained classical elements from the Renaissance period.
As soon as they entered the door, a black-and-tan large dog suddenly lunged at her, baring its teeth and barking wildly: “Woof woof—”
Miss Meng was terrified and reflexively hid in Pei Yuzhou’s arms. “Mister Pei, save me!”
Pei Yuzhou gave it a cold look to stop it. “Zeus, quiet.”
As soon as it heard its master’s command, it settled down and sat obediently to the side.
Miss Meng turned her head and saw the large dog clearly in front of her—a fierce-looking German Shepherd with very aggressive eyes.
“Will it bite people?”
Mark replied, “Miss Meng, don’t worry. It won’t bite people casually.”
That meant it would bite.
Miss Meng clung to Pei Yuzhou’s waist and wouldn’t let go.
The butler spoke up: “Mister, it’s not early anymore. Would you like to eat something before resting?”
Pei Yuzhou asked the little girl in his arms, “Are you hungry?”
Miss Meng shook her head. “I ate my fill on the airplane.”
The butler considered for a moment and then asked, “Should this miss’s room be arranged together with yours, or a separate one?”
Miss Meng blinked, her ear roots slightly hot.
In a moment, she had already prepared herself mentally.
Anyway, they would have to sleep together sooner or later; a couple days earlier or later made no difference.
However, she heard him say, “The room next to mine for her.”
The butler nodded. “Understood.”
Miss Meng raised her eyes and met Pei Yuzhou’s gaze.
The arc of his lips curved slightly. “What, do you want to sleep with me?”
Miss Meng lowered her head and withdrew her gaze, murmuring, “I didn’t think that.”
“Upstairs.” Pei Yuzhou put his arm around her shoulders and headed for the stairs.
Behind them, Zeus followed along.
Miss Meng grabbed tightly at Pei Yuzhou’s shirt. “Why is it coming up too?”
“It won’t bite you.”
Miss Meng was still a bit scared. “It looks very fierce.”
Pei Yuzhou stopped and turned around. “Zeus, you stay downstairs today.”
“Woof—”
It stood at the bottom of the steps and barked once, its voice sounding a bit downcast.
Miss Meng softened. “Let it come up anyway. I’ll just stay in the room and not go out.”
Zeus understood and immediately bounded up the steps.
Pei Yuzhou ignored it and went upstairs.
“Mister Pei, is it your dog?”
“Mm.”
“Why keep it here?”
“It’s wild and hard to tame, prone to attacking people. Keeping it here to herd sheep is pretty good.”
Miss Meng glanced back. “It’s pretty obedient in front of you.”
Pei Yuzhou’s voice was flat. “If it weren’t obedient in front of me, why would I keep it.”
A bit ruthless, but reasonable.
After all, he was a capitalist and wouldn’t waste time on useless things.
The Filipina maid delivered the luggage to the room.
Miss Meng pulled out her pajamas and went to take a shower.
She wasn’t sleepy at all and dawdled slowly until two in the morning before sleeping.
–
At six in the morning, light shone into the bedroom from the window.
Miss Meng woke up, got out of bed barefoot, and pushed open the terrace door.
Fresh air hit her face.
Before her eyes was a lake and garden, sunlight pouring on the water surface, and with a gust of wind, golden ripples spread out, the water shimmering.
The scenery was beautiful.
Meng Shuyou leaned on the railing to take a deep breath, stretched lazily, and went back to the room to get her painting tools.
With the easel set up, she sat down and began squeezing paint for color matching.
She painted intently, not even noticing someone coming out from next door.
The sun climbed higher, the ultraviolet rays growing stronger.
Seeing her face flushed red, Pei Yuzhou spoke up to remind her: “Aren’t you afraid of getting sunburned?”
