Chapter 133: Scorch Release
Yoru looked around and found a clean blanket, covering Ye Cang with it.
Ye Cang blushed and secretly glanced at Yoru.
Yoru had seen all kinds of fragrant winds and hot waves, saying, “Who told you to insist on taking a bath tonight? You didn’t even check the weather beforehand.”
Ye Cang draped the blanket over herself, burying her flushed face between her knees.
“I almost crossed half the Land of Wind. This is the first unclaimed oasis. I finally encountered it, and I really wanted to take a bath…” She looked up again and asked:
“Is your Earth Release solid? The three children won’t be blown away by the wind, right?”
Yoru patted the Earth Spear nearby: “Absolutely solid.”
With that, Yoru walked over and picked up Ye Cang.
“You you you, what are you doing?”
“Sitting on the sand is so uncomfortable. I’ll put you on the bed.”
Ye Cang had been worried all night and hadn’t slept much, somewhat afraid that the young man in the tent would make moves on her.
The next day, Ye Cang was sleepy with a headache and dark circles under her eyes as she looked at Miqu.
Miqu was sleeping soundly.
She hurriedly found a few ill-fitting clothes in the tent and left the tent.
All morning while using her special ability to fetch water, Ye Cang occasionally looked resentfully at Miqu’s tent.
He really hadn’t done anything, which left Ye Cang somewhat disappointed.
Close to noon, Yoru finally came out of the tent yawning.
Having completed the mission, he could finally relax.
Coming to the side of the Crescent Small Lake, Yoru watched Ye Cang distilling drinking water.
Ye Cang looked up at Miqu, then quickly lowered her head, her face flushed red.
After fetching the water, Ye Cang gathered her courage and came to Miqu’s side as he drank water.
“Mr. Miqu, can you teach me ninjutsu? The kind you used last night in the super massive sandstorm, the life-saving ninjutsu.”
Yoru coughed repeatedly, saying, “Sure, but I also want to take a bath tonight.”
“Deal!”
Over the next few days, Yoru enjoyed Ye Cang’s distilled water in the oasis; it was drinkable and usable for bathing.
Poor Yagura got nothing but two pots of water each day.
Yoru and Ye Cang’s relationship warmed up quickly.
Yoru first taught Ye Cang chakra refinement instead of relying on instinct to use her evaporation ability; Ye Cang prepared bath water for Yoru.
One day, they encountered another super massive sandstorm.
Yoru was woken up in the middle of the night by the sandstorm, walked out to reinforce the tent for Ye Cang and the three children, but saw Ye Cang taking a bath by the lake at midnight, while the tent had been lifted by the strong wind.
Yoru was already familiar with the routine.
He went over, picked up the naked but blushing Ye Cang, reinforced the three children’s tent with Earth Release midway, and carried Ye Cang back to his own tent.
Back in the tent, Yoru saw that Ye Cang was soaking wet and covered in sand grains, so he reached out to brush her shoulders, flicking away a lot of sand.
Ye Cang’s face turned even redder:
“Um? You can’t touch there… You can’t touch there either… You definitely can’t touch there…”
Half an hour later, Ye Cang was panting and lying on the bed.
The sand on her back and buttocks had already been repeatedly cleansed within that half hour.
Yoru finally had time to clean the sand from other parts of Ye Cang’s body.
Gently stroking Ye Cang’s beautiful back, Yoru asked: “Ye Cang, how did you end up here? This place is so close to the frontline of the battle.”
Ye Cang adjusted her position, arching her back into a more alluring curve, saying:
“I was originally from the north of the Land of Wind. A passing Sand Ninja said I had special ninjutsu talent and wanted to take me to the Hidden Sand Village.
I didn’t like being a ninja, so when that Sand Ninja was conscripted by the Hidden Sand Village, I didn’t follow his planned route to the Hidden Sand Village.
Someone kept looking for me, so I chose a route they wouldn’t expect, coming to the east of the Land of Wind, to the rear of the frontline.
Along the way, I successively encountered three children who were about to die of thirst, so I brought them along to survive.”
Ye Cang turned her shoulders, keeping most of her back facing him, lifted her hand to hook Yoru’s neck, and asked:
“Miqu, how many more days do I need to practice extracting chakra? When can I learn your Earth Release pillar?”
Yoru smiled, saying: “Of course, but I have a condition.”
“What condition?”
In the sky-obscuring sandstorm, Yagura struggled to look toward the oasis.
In such a terrible environment, he didn’t know how the captain endured it.
The next day at noon, the terrible sandstorm finally ended.
Ye Cang, wearing ill-fitting clothes, came out of the tent and first went to the tent where the three children were.
The tent was fixed with Earth Release, and the three children were fine.
After distilling the water, Ye Cang came to find Yoru, looking eagerly as if wanting to learn ninjutsu.
Yoru said:
“Ye Cang, although I’m a rogue ninja, I know how ninja villages train ninjas.
Most ninjas before chunin level learn ninjutsu but can’t use it effectively in battle.
Taijutsu and ninja tools are more efficient.
I’m not refusing to teach you ninjutsu. Your biggest problem now is building a solid foundation: learning chakra refinement and chakra circulation, practicing taijutsu.”
Combining physical energy with mental energy produces chakra.
Yoru had already taught Ye Cang how to sense physical energy, how to sense mental energy, and how to mix the two inside the body to form chakra.
Next, Yoru taught Ye Cang to concentrate chakra in different parts of the body to produce different effects.
Concentrating chakra in the feet and calves can speed up movement. Concentrating it in the arms and fists can increase fist strength.
Ye Cang progressed very quickly; she excitedly felt the changes brought by chakra.
That evening, Ye Cang didn’t return to the three children’s tent but entered Yoru’s tent.
“I’ve gotten stronger! Tonight I’ll definitely last longer!”
From thirty minutes to thirty-five minutes, Ye Cang did last longer.
But she was still the first to tremble and surrender.
The next day, Yoru put the intermediate water from the first distillation into a large basin and taught Ye Cang water-walking training.
In the afternoon, by the small lake next to the dead trees poisoned dry, Yoru taught Ye Cang to climb trees with her feet.
That evening, Ye Cang’s fragrant sweat soaked Yoru’s legs; she lasted three minutes longer.
“Don’t be discouraged; three minutes is a long time.”
Hearing the teasing, Ye Cang blushed and arched her waist again.
After five days of such intense… training, Ye Cang could already proficiently manipulate chakra.
Standing by the Crescent Small Lake, Ye Cang listened to Yoru’s explanation, memorizing which hand seals corresponded to which chakra circulation routes.
Her hands slowly formed hand seals, groping for chakra’s circulation method.
A blazing fireball appeared in the air above Ye Cang’s palm.
The fireball was fist-sized, emitting intense heat and light.
Yoru nodded repeatedly. Yoru didn’t even know Ye Cang’s chakra nature; learning Earth Release held no promise for her. For Ye Cang, developing her bloodline limit ability was most crucial.
“This… Mr. Miqu, is this the unique ability you mentioned that I have?”
