Chapter 60: Strong Reinforcements
During the day, Yoru trained the new members of the Anbu squad. At night, Yoru went to investigate Senju Rinki’s whereabouts.
Senju Rinki always brought six guards when he went out, either staying deep in the Senju Compound or going to the Hokage Building.
Since the battle at Ushi-ga Mountain, Lord Mito Uzumaki’s death date had become a mystery.
Transferring the Nine-Tails seal was no longer so urgent, but the entire Senju Clan was still very tense.
Yoru had never found Tsunade’s whereabouts and didn’t know where she had gone. After performing surgery on Kurozaru, Tsunade had disappeared.
In the afternoon, Yoru left Anbu early and came to the izakaya.
“Qiao Yi, lend me your property deed for a bit.”
“What do you need my property deed for?”
“I see you’ve recovered too well lately. Come on, let’s go to the backyard and teach you a lesson.”
An hour later, Qiao Yi crawled up from the bed with shaky legs and found the property deed in the drawer by the bed.
“What a nemesis… Do I have to write you an authorization letter too?”
Holding the property deed and authorization letter, Yoru headed to the only bank in Konoha Village, the Daimyo Bank.
The money he earned from the bloody Anbu work had all been spent on Tsuruzuki Izakaya. Now using the izakaya’s property deed for a loan wasn’t too much, right?
If he died on the 14th this time, everything would return to last month’s full moon.
Any loan amount would be written off.
Yoru found a manager and asked, “Manager, with this property deed, how much can I loan at most?”
“This mainly depends on how many years you can loan. The longer the loan term, the higher the interest rate and the larger the loan amount. How old are you this year?”
Yoru said, “I’m 18 this year. Best to loan for 60 years.”
“Haha, young man, you’re a bit humorous, but not much.” The manager said, “Konoha Village’s average lifespan is 45 years, so you can loan at most 45 minus 16, which is 26 years.”
“26 years will do. Loan me for 26 years.”
“Wait.” The manager said, “Are you a ninja?”
“Yes.”
“Then you can’t loan for 26 years. Ninjas’ average lifespan is 31 years, so you can loan at most 15 years.”
“Fine, 15 years it is.”
Yoru thought to himself, anyway, he had no intention of repaying.
The manager said again:
“Don’t be in a hurry, young man.
The Daimyo Bank, after detailed statistics, found that the average lifespan of male Konoha ninjas is 27 years, and for female ninjas it’s 35 years.
If you’re a medical ninja from Konoha Hospital, you can loan 15 years.
If you’re an ordinary combat ninja, you can only loan 11 years.”
This Daimyo Bank really has a lot of talent.
Yoru said angrily, “11 years! Calculate how much I can loan!”
The manager looked at the property deed and authorization letter, did some rapid calculations, and finally said:
“You can loan 8 million ryo, to be repaid over 11 years.
Young man, you must train well and strengthen your strength. If you die next month, we’ll directly confiscate your property, understand?”
Yoru thought to himself, then you’d better hurry, because next month I might not be in this parallel universe anymore.
After I leave, who cares if this parallel universe floods.
After leaving the Daimyo Bank, Yoru went to the ninja tool shop again.
Exploding tags are 10,000 ryo each. Buying too many at once would attract a village investigation, so he bought 40 per day in batches, slowly stockpiling exploding tags.
800 exploding tags were enough for Yoru to squander.
In the original story, it said Konan had 600 billion exploding tags. Clearly, Kishimoto’s math was taught by a kindergarten art teacher.
He knew nothing about numbers.
After returning to the izakaya, Qiao Yi didn’t ask what Yoru had done with her deed.
Late at night, the sound of a crutch appeared.
Senju Ka entered the izakaya leaning on his crutch.
He didn’t go to the bar counter but found a table and sat in the high sofa.
Yoru glanced over. Senju Ka’s expression was ashen, his eyes vacant.
Not long after, Kamachi came in carrying a long cloth-wrapped bundle on his back.
Kamachi’s steps were heavy. He looked around and found Senju Ka shrunk in the sofa.
Unwrapping the backpack, inside was a prosthetic limb.
Seeing the prosthetic limb, Senju Ka understood something.
“My son didn’t die to a spy! Do you know something!”
Senju Ka stood up on one leg, frantically shaking his friend’s shoulders, his eyes bloodshot.
Yoru recalled a mission record he saw in Anbu that morning: a Senju Clan youth died at the hands of a spy.
Senju Kashi’s contact with the Uzumaki Remnants had been investigated by Anbu, and he didn’t know which squad carried out the clan annihilation mission.
“Shh!”
Kamachi interrupted Senju Ka’s agitated shouting.
Fortunately, the izakaya was noisy, and most people’s attention wasn’t here.
Senju Ka came to his senses, silently sat down, rolled up his pant leg, and began installing the prosthetic limb.
His hands trembled nonstop at first, then became unusually steady.
After installing the prosthetic limb, both men’s faces were filled with resolve.
In silence, they raised their wine cups, drained the wine in them, and left the izakaya.
Yoru set down his wine cup and hurriedly followed.
Senju Ka and Kamachi slowly headed toward the Senju Compound.
Kamachi asked, “Are we really going to confront him?”
“What else? My son died just like that for no reason? I can accept him dying on a mission, dying on the battlefield, but I can’t accept him dying in Konoha Village’s dark alleys.”
“If we lay it out, the Senju Clan and the village will completely fall out. It could lead to a terrible civil war.”
“So what? My son is dead. What do I have to hesitate about? What’s your attitude? If you’re scared, you can go back. I’ll go find the clan head alone.”
Kamachi’s face was full of reminiscence: “Me… I actually liked your sister more. Who doesn’t like the young ones? It was your older sister who couldn’t get married, so I pursued her out of pity.”
“You bastard!”
The two middle-aged men quickened their pace.
At a corner, Yoru body flickered down, blocking their path.
Senju Ka and Kamachi instantly tensed up.
This young boy was a regular at the izakaya.
The two exchanged a glance. Had this young boy seen through something?
Yoru said directly, “Are you planning to confront Clan Head Senju Rinki and tell him that Danzo and Anbu pushed for the Uzumaki Clan’s clan annihilation?”
Kunai instantly appeared in both men’s hands as they charged at Yoru from two directions.
Kamachi was okay, but Senju Ka was too slow.
Yoru formed hand seals with both hands: “Summoning Jutsu!”
After a puff of white smoke, a Long Spear Egret appeared on Yoru’s shoulder.
Senju Ka and Kamachi instantly halted.
Yuka Uzumaki was the leader of the Uzumaki Remnants. If these two knew anything, they would certainly recognize this summoning beast.
Yoru glanced at the distance and said, “This isn’t the place to talk.”
In the depths of a woods, Yoru said:
“Next month on the 14th, we’ll go find Lord Mito Uzumaki together. I’m an insider for the Uzumaki Clan, and the summoning beast Long Spear Egret can vouch for me.”
“Why wait until next month on the 14th?”
“It’s confidential. This matter involves too many people. Revealing it could cause Konoha to split, or even the Senju Clan’s clan annihilation. Anyway, just follow my lead.”
Kamachi pulled Senju Ka aside and said many things.
He had heard Senju Kashi mention the Uzumaki Clan member they met in the Land of Grass; her summoning beast was indeed Long Spear Egret.
Senju Ka came before Yoru and said, “We believe you. We’ll wait for action on the 14th next month.”
Yoru had secured two strong allies.
With Senju Ka as an insider, finding Senju Rinki would be much simpler.
There’s one more chapter tonight.
