Chapter 23: A Lesson
Grandmother Lin had recovered her senses. She held Lin Mu Xue’s hand and said, “A Chu, don’t blame your brother. It’s this old woman who’s been dragging him down. If it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t have stayed in this place.”
Sang Chu replied, “Grandma, I don’t blame my brother. It’s already good enough that we can meet.”
It was already good enough to be reunited with someone they thought they would never see again.
When Sang Chu put the medical pod on Sang Jing Wen, he didn’t ask anything.
Just then, a furious knocking sound suddenly came from outside the door.
“Sang Jing Wen, get out here!”
“Sang Jing Wen!”
Sang Jing Wen held Sang Chu’s hand, protecting her, and whispered, “Find a chance to leave quickly later.”
Lu Min Feng asked, “Who is outside the door?”
Sang Jing Wen looked at the man who had come with his sister and glanced at him with his spiritual sight, “It’s Sun Hou.”
Upon hearing the name, Lin Mu Xue immediately became furious, “Brother Wen, is this Sun Hou the one you beat up in junior high for bullying others!”
Sang Jing Wen nodded. Sang Chu asked, “He’s the one who made things difficult for you? What level is his supernatural ability?”
“Level Two Wind Element Supernatural Ability.”
Lu Min Feng closed his eyes and sensed.
“There are five people outside in total. One is Level Two, one is Level One, and the rest are ordinary people. The Level Two person should be the Sun Hou that Brother Wen mentioned.”
Sang Jing Wen asked, “You’re also a Level Two Supernatural Ability User?”
Lin Mu Xue exclaimed, “Brother Wen, A Chu is also a Level Two Supernatural Ability User now! And so am I!”
She said this with a bit of pride. Sang Jing Wen felt a pang of sadness realizing he was just an ordinary person, but he still looked at Sang Chu with great relief, “Sang Sang is truly amazing, even more amazing than your brother.”
He gently stroked Sang Chu’s head. Meanwhile, the knocking outside the door grew louder and louder, as if they were trying to break the door down.
Sang Chu glanced at the door and directly took a freezing gun from her space link. “Brother, this is a freezing gun. It can instantly freeze a person into ice. I’ll tell you how I got it later. For now, let’s go get revenge!”
She had been frustrated before for not being able to kill Zhao Feng, and now she didn’t want to let this lone Sun Hou escape.
Lu Min Feng looked at Lin Mu Xue, “Xiao Xue, you take Grandma into the hovercar first. We’ll handle this here.”
Hovercar?
Sang Jing Wen looked at them in astonishment, but Lin Mu Xue didn’t explain much. After nodding, she operated her wristband and disappeared with Grandmother Lin.
Sang Jing Wen stammered, “This, this…”
Sang Chu said, “Brother, I’ll tell you about these things later.”
“Okay.”
“Sang Jing Wen, you damn monkey, hurry up and open the door! What are you hiding for? Aren’t you amazing? What are you afraid of!”
“Yeah, the Boss has already issued new regulations. You don’t have immunity anymore. Come out quickly!”
Lu Min Feng looked at Sang Chu and Sang Jing Wen. Seeing them nod, he turned invisible and hid to the side, then opened the door.
Sun Hou sneered, “I see you really want to die, taking so long to open the door.”
As soon as he entered the room, he immediately saw Sang Chu standing beside Sang Jing Wen and said with a sinister grin, “Isn’t this Sang Chu? Sang Jing Wen, you’re breaking the law by bringing people into the base without permission. It seems even Xiao Yi Fei can’t save you this time!”
Sang Jing Wen retorted, “Dead monkey, you only dare to act like this towards me because A Yi is out on a mission and not in the base, right? When he’s here, when have you ever dared to raise your voice at me!”
“Brother Hou, why bother talking to him? The Boss said to deal with him quickly!”
The Boss?
Sang Jing Wen frowned slightly. He knew that Xiao Yi Fei and the base Boss had a conflict, but why would the base Boss make a move against him?
What threat could he, a person without any supernatural abilities, pose?
Sun Hou said, “That’s right, he’s just a waste. Attack!”
Sun Hou took a step forward.
Just then, the invisible Lu Min Feng kicked him down and promptly closed the door.
Sang Jing Wen shot him cleanly. In a short while, Sun Hou was frozen into an ice block!
“Brother Hou?”
Sang Chu scoffed, “Brother Hou? Does he deserve to be called that?”
Sang Chu said with a chilling voice, conjuring a wind blade in her hand and throwing it out. The only remaining supernatural ability user quickly erected an earth wall.
Sang Chu shouted, “Earth Thorns!”
With a soft cry, thorns grew out of the earth wall the person had constructed. Unable to dodge in time, they were pierced through.
Lu Min Feng knocked out all the ordinary people, one in each hand. “What should we do with these ordinary people?”
In his opinion, they should all be killed. In the apocalypse, if you weren’t ruthless, you were leaving future trouble for yourself.
But he didn’t dare to say it.
Sang Chu just looked at Sang Jing Wen. He raised his gun and directly froze them.
Sang Jing Wen said, “Sang Sang, these people can’t stay with me. If they’re discovered, I won’t be able to stay here.”
Sang Chu asked, “Brother, are you waiting for the Xiao Yi Fei that Sun Hou mentioned?”
Sang Jing Wen replied, “Yes, he’s a Level Three Fire Element Supernatural Ability User in this base, and he’s my university classmate. He came to Hai Shi with me this time for fun. I didn’t expect the apocalypse to break out, and we were all trapped here, unable to move. He’s been helping me find you.
We knew you were at Zhao Feng’s base, but Zhao Feng is a complete scoundrel and has been holding you back. And his ability level is similar to A Yi’s, so we haven’t been able to rescue you. However, A Yi said he sent you some supplies. Did you receive them?”
Sang Chu shook her head, “Let’s not talk about that for now, Brother. Let’s deal with these corpses first.”
Sang Jing Wen nodded and, along with Lu Min Feng, carried the corpses onto the hovercar.
He was completely shocked.
Grandmother Lin was just as stunned as he was.
“Wen Waizi, this, this, is Grandma dreaming!”
Seeing Sang Jing Wen get in, Grandmother Lin blinked her eyes and said in a daze.
Sang Jing Wen swallowed hard, shivered all over, and bit his arm fiercely.
‘Hiss—’
“It’s not a dream!”
“My heavens, this, Sang Sang, how are you here!”
Lin Mu Xue cheerfully brought over freshly washed fruit and stuffed grapes into her grandmother’s and Sang Jing Wen’s mouths.
“Grandma, Brother Wen, these are all things Sang Sang earned. Eat up! These grapes are so sweet. We don’t have to eat those messy, dirty things anymore!”
Hearing this, tears welled up in Grandmother Lin’s aged eyes. “It’s good that you’re doing well. Grandma has always worried about you suffering outside. If Grandma weren’t old, she would have gone with A Yi and A Wen to find you long ago!”
“Don’t cry, Grandma. We’re back. Our lives will only get better from now on!”
“Yes, yes, you are all capable people. You will definitely succeed!”
Sang Jing Wen looked at Sang Chu. She stopped her work and took out an optical computer from her space link, placing it on Sang Jing Wen’s hand.
“Brother, this is an optical computer. I accidentally boarded a time-space train before and went to another world. These are all brought back from that otherworld, along with the space link and a lot of food and drinks. It’s also because of the hovercar this time that we were able to come back to find you.”
Sang Jing Wen’s eyes reddened as he hugged Sang Chu, “I’m sorry.”
