Chapter 84: Bao Bao In Wei
Having made up his mind, Lu Li knew it was time for him to perform.
“No need to go to such trouble. Leave the Grimers to me. You all just take the Pokémon Eggs and go.” After Lu Li finished speaking, he released Milotic.
“Milotic!!”
Everyone in the sewer looked in surprise at this Pokémon that was too beautiful for the human world.
The little girl Bao Bao stared at Milotic with infatuated eyes. “The world’s most beautiful Pokémon… This is so cool!”
Even Wei He looked at Lu Li and the Milotic beside him with probing eyes.
Unlike Ai Ke and the others, Wei He could tell Milotic’s strength at a glance.
“Elite Level!”
Wei He’s facial expression darkened. What she cared about wasn’t Milotic’s strength, but the bond between Milotic and Lu Li.
This meant Lu Li was a true Elite Trainer, an Elite Trainer who was only 16 years old!
“The Jiuzhou Region actually has such a prodigy. But why is he mixing with Ai Ke?” Thinking of this, Wei He felt even less calm.
Snake Doctor looked at Milotic and secretly clicked his tongue. When he had gone to Lu Li’s home, he had seen Wailmer. He had naively thought Lu Li was raising a Wailmer purely for fun.
But he never expected that it was actually aimed at Milotic.
Raising a Wailmer and nurturing a Wailmer were two different concepts. Snake Doctor couldn’t figure out how Lu Li dared to do it.
“Brother, what level is your Milotic at?” Ai Ke asked curiously.
“Elite Level.” Lu Li answered calmly.
“Holy crap!”
“An Elite Level Milotic? Then can’t we just slaughter them here?” Ai Ke said excitedly.
“We handle the gaga, and they handle the slaughter?” Wei He rolled her eyes at Ai Ke.
If it was Elite Level, then the previous plan might need to change.
Thinking of this, Wei He gave Bao Bao a look.
Bao Bao nodded subtly.
Lu Li took the initiative and said, “Which direction will the Grimers come from? I’ll take my Milotic there to guard. You all grab the Pokémon Eggs and hurry away.”
“That way. The Grimers go deep inside to forage every day.” Ai Ke unhesitatingly pointed to another sewer tunnel.
Lu Li nodded, then took Milotic to the other sewer tunnel.
The sewer environment was very harsh, but Milotic didn’t complain. She had lived in the sewer during her Wailmer stage.
It was Lu Li who had rescued her from the sewer’s sewage.
Without Lu Li, she might have been stuck forever in the foul-smelling sewer.
Thinking of this, Milotic couldn’t help but glance at Lu Li.
“The same environment, but the Pokémon and things are different now. It’s really great to have you, my Trainer!”
On the other side, Bao Bao carefully used Psychic to fish out one deep purple egg after another from the sludge, then wobbled them over.
The Grimer in the sludge noticed someone stealing eggs right after seeing the Pokémon Eggs fly high.
“Mud~ Mud!”
Seeing this, the Grimers all let out piercing growls.
The growls carried far in the sewer. Soon, anxious growls and incomprehensible gurgles came from the other end of the sewer.
Soon Lu Li saw shadows like waves appearing at the sewer’s bend.
One Grimer after another surged like waves.
Seeing this, Lu Li shouted loudly, “Grimers are coming! There are quite a few. Hurry and take the Pokémon Eggs and go.”
After shouting, Lu Li continued to command, “Milotic, Disarming Voice!”
The sewer echoed with Milotic’s cry, and the rushing Grimers were instantly crowd controlled in place.
The Grimers’ strength was generally Normal Level. For Milotic, defeating so many Pokémon in a short time might be troublesome, but just controlling them was no big problem.
After the effect of Disarming Voice wore off, the awakened Grimers continued anxiously rushing toward the gathering place.
After Ai Ke’s side got six Pokémon Eggs, he called for everyone to run quickly.
Bao Bao and Wei He looked reluctantly at the sludge pile.
Wei He pulled Bao Bao and said, “Bao Bao, we can’t take this risk. As an Elite Trainer, he definitely knows about the Black Sludge.”
“Mm.”
Bao Bao nodded, then turned and ran back with her older sister.
Lu Li, who had been observing the situation there with his spiritual power, had a flash of understanding on his face.
Those sisters indeed knew about the Black Sludge, but the two sisters were sensible and knew what things to take and what not to take.
Seeing that Ai Ke and the others had already fled, Lu Li quickly split his attention and used spiritual power to fish out the Black Sludge from deep in the sludge.
The Black Sludge was a palm-sized piece of sludge. After getting it, Lu Li unhesitatingly recalled Milotic and turned to run.
The Grimers’ movement speed was very slow, at least not as fast as humans running on two legs.
Lu Li quickly caught up to Ai Ke and the others.
The group ran for their lives and soon escaped the sewer.
The panting Ai Ke reminded, “Quickly pull the sewer’s iron gate shut, then leave here. It’s not safe yet.”
Lu Li nodded. After closing the rusted iron gate, he turned and said, “Let’s leave here first. We’ll divide the spoils in a safe place.”
The group didn’t care about resting and continued jogging while holding the Pokémon Eggs.
Finally leaving that foul-smelling valley, Lu Li standing above the valley could even hear the furious growls from the valley bottom.
Although Grimers were gregarious Pokémon, they didn’t have strong family affection among themselves. The reason they lived together was purely because there was strength in numbers.
“Alright, next we’ll divide the eggs. The main merit this time is Lu Li’s, so you pick first, and you can get two Pokémon Eggs.” Ai Ke proposed the distribution method coldly.
Throughout the operation, they actually hadn’t helped much. After all, Lu Li had been the one blocking those Grimers the whole time.
Lu Li wasn’t polite either, since it was a fact that he had contributed the most.
“Then I’ll take these two.” Lu Li quickly selected two Pokémon Eggs.
From the stickiness of those two Pokémon Eggs, the Grimers inside should both have the Sticky Hold Ability.
Grimers with this Ability were the easiest to identify, and such Grimers were probably the least popular with Trainers.
Whether it was the normal Ability Stench or the Hidden Ability Sticky Hold, Grimers with these two Abilities generally had a foul stench, but that was actually an attack method.
But Sticky Hold was different. Grimers with Sticky Hold didn’t have that foul stench, which meant they were born missing an attack method compared to their kind.
And even Grimers with Sticky Hold had a smell on them; it was just not that obvious.
Lu Li had no intention of nurturing Grimer. For him, raising Grimer was for their functionality. Raising two Grimers in the orchard had the biggest benefit of not having to worry about how to handle the farm’s garbage.
Lu Li’s choice instantly won the favor of Ai Ke and Snake Doctor.
Especially Snake Doctor, who knew Lu Li was a Junior Breeder. Of course, he wouldn’t naively think Lu Li had picked wrong.
Ai Ke said again, “Wei He, you pick second. After all, getting the Pokémon Eggs depended a lot on you.”
Bao Bao unhesitatingly chose the darkest-colored Grimer Pokémon Egg.
After Bao Bao picked, it was Ai Ke himself, then Snake Doctor, and finally Ai Ke’s companion.
The six Pokémon Eggs were quickly divided. The sisters got one, which wasn’t really fair.
After all, Snake Doctor and Ai Ke’s companion actually hadn’t contributed much, especially Snake Doctor, who had been slacking the whole time.
Snake Doctor was of course satisfied with this distribution. Even if Ai Ke didn’t give him any, he wouldn’t have minded.
After all, his only contribution was carrying two Pokémon Eggs while running.
“Alright, cooperation ends here. See you around if fate allows.” After Ai Ke finished, he prepared to leave with his younger brother.
After learning Lu Li’s strength, Ai Ke knew he and Lu Li weren’t the same kind of people.
How could an eagle in the sky mix with ants on the ground?
“Then I’ll head out too.” Snake Doctor also took the initiative. Feeling guilty about receiving it, he just wanted to leave quickly.
Wei He and Bao Bao also stood up, then looked at Lu Li as if wanting to say something but hesitating.
Lu Li took the initiative and said, “Shall we find a place to talk?”
Wei He glanced at her younger sister, then nodded.
“Go to the city, or come to my home as guests?” Lu Li asked.
Before Wei He could speak, Bao Bao took the initiative: “Go to Big Brother’s home.”
Ai Ke, who hadn’t gone far, stopped upon hearing this, then couldn’t help glancing at Lu Li.
Going to someone’s home on the first meeting— was that really okay?
Ai Ke was a bit worried about Wei He and the others’ safety, after all, Lu Li was an Elite Level Trainer.
“Aren’t you afraid I might be a bad person?” Lu Li looked at Bao Bao amusedly.
Bao Bao seriously retorted, “Big Brother isn’t a bad person!”
Hearing this, Lu Li couldn’t help looking at the serious-faced Bao Bao.
“Telepathy Ability?” Lu Li thought to himself.
Psychics could generally sense others’ good or evil. Though mystical, it was a fact.
But what puzzled Lu Li was how Bao Bao had sensed his emotions.
After all, he was a Cultivator. After entering the Qi Refining Stage, he had hidden his “spirit” deep in his sea of consciousness. Even Psychic Type Pokémon couldn’t sense his mind, let alone Bao Bao this Psychic.
“You sure about that?” Lu Li teased amusedly.
Bao Bao’s little face nodded seriously.
“Alright then. I’m happy to invite you to my home as guests.” After Lu Li finished, he swapped out Tropius.
Wei He asked embarrassedly, “Will this be too much trouble?”
Wei He actually didn’t want to go to Lu Li’s home.
“No problem. It’s just me at my home.”
Bao Bao’s little face lit up excitedly at the dragon in front of her. “Tropius! This is a rare Pokémon.”
“Normal Late Stage…”
A flash of understanding passed through Wei He’s mind, and she also guessed the reason for Lu Li’s super strength.
Nurturing Pokémon ahead of time, and most fatally, his bond with the Pokémon was so strong.
This was rare in this world, even unscientific.
After climbing onto Tropius’s back, Lu Li invited, “Come on up. My Tropius flies very steadily.”
Bao Bao didn’t hesitate and climbed onto Tropius’s back on her own, right into Lu Li’s arms.
Seeing this, Wei He wanted to say something but hesitated.
She found her younger sister too enthusiastic toward this youth.
Helpless, Wei He could only brace herself and sit behind Lu Li.
Tropius, flapping its two huge wings, flew very steadily; it was just a bit slow in flight speed.
