Chapter 103: Dream Warning
Tonight, Wang Heng had a dream.
Suddenly, he found himself standing in the stairwell of a tall building. Looking up, looking down, all were steps. His vision was filled with white light, not very bright, yet it illuminated the stairwell in every detail.
His gaze followed the gap at the stair corner downward, layer after layer, almost impossible to count how many.
Looking up again, he could see a sign on the wall marked with 【27】.
So, this was the 27th floor?
Why was he here?
The moment he thought of this question, Wang Heng realized—this should be a dream, right?
Standing in place contemplating for a moment, he suddenly noticed that his feet started moving. His consciousness gave no command, yet his body in the dream acted on its own, climbing the steps.
After ascending two more floors, a door appeared in front of him, the exit of the stairwell.
Wang Heng stopped his steps.
He had already felt that control of his body was restored.
If this somewhat anomalous dream was the worldline correction mechanism at work, then the earlier uncontrolled climbing action was a hint, right? Reaching the door meant he should push it open and go out?
No matter what was behind the door, it was probably something he had to face… Thinking this way, he simply pushed the door open.
Then he saw a lonely figure standing at the edge of the rooftop.
The slightly frail back was wrapped in loose school uniform, puffed up by the wind on the rooftop. That short ponytail also swayed unsteadily.
Suddenly, that person turned around, revealing a delicate and fragile face. Two trails of tears from her eyes to her jaw gleamed with despair under the cold moonlight.
Wang Heng couldn’t help asking: “Ye Xun, what are you doing here?”
“What are you doing here?”
The young girl’s retort was stubborn, but her voice trembled slightly, carrying a sob.
Wang Heng took a step forward.
Ye Xun retreated a step.
She was already standing at the edge of the rooftop, and with this retreat, her heel and back touched the wall. The wall at the rooftop edge was only waist-high, so with a hard lean backward, she could fall off the rooftop.
Falling from the height of the thirtieth floor.
Wang Heng panicked immediately: “Don’t move!”
Ye Xun sneered: “The police are everywhere looking for me. What’s the use of saying anything now?”
“Uh… what exactly happened? Is there anything we can’t talk about properly?”
Saying this, Wang Heng shuffled forward two small steps. Fortunately, Ye Xun seemed not to notice. After getting a bit closer, he discovered that the young girl’s face not only had tear stains but also bruises.
What was this situation? She got beaten? But this girl was clearly a free combat expert, how could that be possible?
Subconsciously, he shuffled forward another small step.
However, at that moment, Ye Xun leaned backward, her whole body flipping over and falling.
Wang Heng shouted and rushed over. Reaching the rooftop edge, he looked down, but saw nothing.
Because he woke up from the dream.

His roommates were still fast asleep, while Wang Heng rolled out of bed, picked up the hamster cage, and left the dormitory.
In the dead of night, the dormitory building’s corridor was also pitch black, quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
Wang Heng subconsciously lightened his footsteps, but his walking speed was still fast. He originally planned to go to the rooftop as usual to talk to the hamster, but at the stairwell entrance, he subconsciously stopped.
Hesitating for two seconds, he still went up the stairs to the rooftop.
The night wind was a bit strong. Late autumn had arrived, and the cold wind chilled Wang Heng, who was only wearing thin clothes, to the bone. But this chill was nothing compared to the bone-chilling cold at the end of the dream just now.
He brought the hamster cage to his eyes and asked: “What did that dream mean?”
However, there was no answer, because the hamster was lying in its small nest covered with cotton balls, sleeping soundly. Looking from outside the cage, only a pointed little mouth was visible.
Wang Heng shook the cage.
The hamster still didn’t wake.
Wang Heng shook the cage vigorously.
The hamster finally couldn’t sleep anymore and yelled: “Disturbing someone’s sweet dream is a crime! Don’t forget, you said that yourself!”
Wang Heng stopped his hand and gritted his teeth: “Were you enjoying a sweet dream? Unfortunately, I just had a nightmare.”
The hamster rubbed its little eyes and crawled out of the nest.
After waking up a bit, it asked: “What dream did you have? Got cleaved?”
Wang Heng: “With low intimacy, they wouldn’t have any reason to cleave me. What I saw was suicide.”
Hamster: “Suicide? Ye Xun?”
Wang Heng raised an eyebrow: “You do know Ye Xun might commit suicide, huh?”
The hamster looked up at the sky, as if watching the stars. But in Rongdu at night, it was always hard to see many stars, only a few sparse points of starlight. Occasionally streaking across the night sky and catching attention were mostly lights from airplanes.
It retracted its head and spread its front paws: “Yeah, that’s right. The development of the worldline has some anomalies. Without intervention, an accident will happen this weekend.”
Wang Heng quickly asked: “What accident?”
Hamster: “The problem is with the tutor Ye Xun found online. He’s a first-year university student, good at studies, but very impulsive in personality. Ye Xun’s beauty tempts him, so he plans to use meds…”
Wang Heng gritted his teeth: “No need to go on, I already know.”
The hamster shook its head: “No, you don’t know. The act of using meds was discovered by Ye Xun, then they argued, and in the chaos, Ye Xun killed him.”
Wang Heng: “Then because she counter-killed the scum, Ye Xun ends up going to prison instead?”
Hamster: “No way around it, evidence proving self-defense is too scarce, so she’s charged with intentional homicide. That’s only natural.”
After a long silence, Wang Heng asked: “What’s that scum’s name, where is he, can you tell me?”
The hamster hesitated unusually: “What do you want to do?”
Wang Heng: “Then change the question, has the scum contacted Ye Xun yet?”
Hamster: “Of course, they’ve scheduled to meet this Saturday at her own home for tutoring.”
Wang Heng shook his head and sighed: “Too naive, forgetting to guard against strangers… If she had Han Yixuan’s scheming now, this wouldn’t happen.”
The hamster asked again: “So, what exactly are you going to do?”
Wang Heng sneered: “No need to tell me his name. Since he’s already contacted Ye Xun, I just need to hack into Ye Xun’s mobile phone or computer. Dealing with a scum whose brain is ruled by his dick is easy, I have plenty of ways without breaking the law.”
