Chapter 17: The Medical Examination Director Inspected Carefully

The Head of Gynecology at City First Hospital was a thin woman in her forties, wearing a white coat and rimless glasses. She looked like an experienced doctor at first glance.

This pause, which Liancheng sensitively perceived, made her sigh with relief.
“Two young ladies, who will go first?”
Liang Wenfei pushed Liancheng forward. “Her.”
Liancheng remained motionless.
Liang Wenfei immediately reacted with disdain and sarcasm, “Scared?”
Liancheng looked at her. After Mother Liang entered, she asked her, “Mom, I have a request.”
“What request?” Mother Liang frowned.
“I see you don’t have any real request, you’re purely trying to delay,” Liang Wenfei pushed Liancheng.
Liancheng turned sideways, avoiding her hand. “Mom, the examination results show I’m not pregnant, so Liang Wenfei must apologize to me.”
Mother Liang was startled and then realized. “We’ll discuss it when we get home.”
Liancheng didn’t believe it. Let alone discussing it at home, she was afraid that once the examination was done, this apology business would not even be mentioned.
Mother Liang disapproved.
Liancheng remained motionless.
Liang Wenfei pulled her forward a step, and she retreated a step.
In front of outsiders, being so extreme, narrow-minded, and disregarding decency, Mother Liang became annoyed. “Are you trying to rebel?”
Liancheng’s gaze was direct. “Mom, by protecting her like this, do you think my four years of undeserved injustice are not worth an apology?”
Liang Wenfei cursed at her, “The results aren’t out yet, what injustice are you talking about?”
Mother Liang still did not yield.
Amidst the argument, there was a knock on the door. Liang Chaosu asked from outside, “What’s going on?”
Liang Wenfei opened the door, her eyes red with anger. “Liancheng insists I apologize to her.”
Liang Chaosu maintained his composure and politeness, leaning slightly to the side, his gaze not venturing into the room. “Are the results out?”
“Not done yet.” Liang Wenfei, with her backer arrived, was on the verge of tears. “She insists I agree to apologize before she’ll do it.”
“Then apologize.”
“What?” Liang Wenfei was shocked. “Brother, you—”
She couldn’t finish her sentence. The suspicion from yesterday resurfaced, doubling in her mind.
Her brother was twenty-eight years old and extremely abstinent.
Numerous daughters of wealthy families in their social circle had pursued him, but he had never shown them any favor.
The secretaries, assistants, private consultants, and drivers around him were all male, and he had no white moonlight or confidantes. He always declined invitations for blind dates, claiming to be busy, and held all business dinners with female partners in the company restaurant.
