Chapter 6: Why Come To The Hospital If Not Pregnant?
Liang Wenfei watched her expression, seeing this, she was greatly stimulated, and the tugging escalated into a scuffle.
Deliberately kicked her lower abdomen.
Liancheng took a kick and tried her best to avoid it. Liang Wenfei put all her strength into it, and during the struggle, a few strands of Liancheng’s hair were violently pulled out, and her chest was pinched and twisted, causing her so much pain that she almost fainted.
Liancheng was also enraged, and she grabbed Liang Wenfei. Just as she was about to push her away, she suddenly remembered that Liang Wenfei’s pregnancy was unstable.
If anything were to happen, Liang Chaosu would definitely flay her alive, and Mother Liang would also be heartbroken.
As soon as she relaxed her strength a little, Liang Wenfei intensified her attack, pulling and dragging her, not forgetting to kick.
Liancheng leaned back to dodge.
“Brother.” Liang Wenfei couldn’t gain the upper hand and shouted with a crying voice. She was accustomed to Liang Chaosu solving everything for her. “Come out quickly, Liancheng is pregnant with Li Chuan’s child, and she wants to steal Li Chuan.”
Liancheng was greatly shocked. Was Liang Chaosu here too?
At this moment, Bai Ying, wearing a white coat, grabbed Liang Wenfei from the side and pulled her away. “Fighting and making noise are prohibited in the hospital. Liancheng is here to see me, so stop falsely accusing her.”
“Is that so?”
Liancheng was stiff to the point of suffocation. In her line of sight, the bright white corridor lighting, Liang Chaosu walked over step by step, standing out in the light, his aura sharp and imposing.
He effortlessly blocked Bai Ying with his hand and protected Liang Wenfei.
However, his gaze was fixed on Liancheng from beginning to end, piercing her like a hole, from her disheveled hair to her lower abdomen.
Liancheng reflexively stepped back.
“Brother, don’t let her run away.” Liang Wenfei shouted. She no longer cared about her reputation; she only wanted Shen Lichuan. “I’m pregnant, and she’s pregnant too. It’s obvious she wants to ruin my marriage.”
“Bullshit.” Liancheng was enraged. “Do you think Shen Lichuan is made of pure gold that everyone grabs for? When I treated you as a person, I wish you’d used your ears. I’m here to see Bai Ying, I’m not pregnant, and I’m not going to ruin your marriage. I wish you and Shen Lichuan a locked-tight relationship.”
Liancheng had stated many times that she had no intention of returning to Shen Lichuan, but everyone seemed to have lost their minds and insisted she couldn’t forget her past feelings.
“I remember—” Liang Chaosu said slowly, “Bai Ying is not an obstetrician.”
Liancheng clenched her fists, her heart suddenly beating violently.
“I am indeed not an obstetrician.” Bai Ying stood in front of Liancheng. “Liancheng heard that Liang Wenfei was at the hospital and voluntarily wanted to see her.”
With that explanation, Liancheng breathed a sigh of relief.
“Which floor did you come from?”
Bai Ying was about to speak, but Liang Chaosu signaled her to shut up, his face showing a hint of displeasure. “Let her speak.”
Liang Chaosu had been trained in the military, and Liancheng felt he could be called an expert investigator.
She wasn’t confident about facing an interrogation.
Fortunately, Bai Ying and she had indeed gone upstairs first. “Orthopedics Department, Room 03, on the eighth floor.”
“That’s not right.” Liang Wenfei pointed at Bai Ying. “If you really wanted to see me, you should have come out of the elevator together. But Bai Ying appeared later, and she appeared from the adjacent consultation room. This shows that she and Liancheng were already in the Obstetrics Department.”
Liang Chaosu narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at Liancheng again. “What were you doing in the Obstetrics Department?”
“I absolutely could not be pregnant.” Liancheng did not answer the question, but gazed at him, emphasizing each word, “I am on my menstrual period.”
In her panic earlier, she had lost her composure and had been led by Liang Wenfei’s logic.
She had forgotten about her menstrual period. Although it was fake, Liang Chaosu had personally confirmed it last night. He was sharp-eyed, sharp-hearted, and shrewd. He wouldn’t doubt his own eyes even if he didn’t believe her explanation.
“Menstrual period?” Liang Wenfei was suspicious.
“Don’t believe me?” Liancheng sneered, then gestured towards the restroom. “I can take it off and show you.”
Liang Wenfei knew Liancheng well enough; at this point, Liancheng had a hundred percent solid evidence and was more than ninety percent sure. But the expression on her face as she caressed her lower abdomen was unforgettable.
And Liang Wenfei herself had the experience of early bleeding during her pregnancy, similar to the bleeding amount at the beginning or end of a period.
Thinking of this, a flash of lightning suddenly struck her mind. As if solving a case, she grabbed Liang Chaosu’s sleeve with one hand and pointed at Liancheng with the other.
“Brother, she’s not on her period; she’s pregnant. She’s having early bleeding just like me, so she secretly took leave to come to the hospital. She wants pregnancy preservation.”
Liang Chaosu’s gaze suddenly sharpened, like a bright surgical knife piercing Liancheng’s heart and dissecting her secrets.
Liancheng met his gaze, caught completely off guard.
She thought she had gotten past this hurdle by mentioning her period, never expecting that Liang Wenfei’s unstable pregnancy involved early bleeding.
Moreover, her excuse for Liang Chaosu last night was eating ice. He might have already suspected that she was deliberately avoiding intimacy with him.
Now, Liang Wenfei’s logic was self-consistent, and coupled with what happened last night, Liang Chaosu’s suspicion might have increased from thirty percent to seventy or eighty percent.
“She’s not pregnant.” Someone suddenly stood at the elevator, with a clear, refined, and gentle face, tall and slender, a noble young master like a fragrant orchid.
“Except for being stuck in traffic yesterday, I haven’t spoken a word to her face-to-face in half a year. If you don’t believe me, you can check my whereabouts.”
Liang Wenfei’s entire demeanor softened. “Why are you here?”
Shen Lichuan slowly walked over, looking her up and down. “My mother told me you weren’t feeling well. Are you better now?”
Liang Chaosu’s expression turned colder.
Mother Liang had not informed the Shen family that morning. Even if he brought Liang Wenfei to the hospital, and someone happened to see them and inform Mother Shen, Shen Lichuan’s arrival was too fast.
He walked past Shen Lichuan and looked towards the elevator.
Hospitals are busy places, with people going up and down all the time. Elevators, influenced by their programming, usually cycle between the top and bottom floors. Once they go up, they will continue to the top floor.
The numbers on the display were climbing, and it was indeed a single upward trip, indicating that Shen Lichuan had come from downstairs, not from upstairs.
He remained silent, but Liang Wenfei knew he would never let Liancheng off the hook, so she confidently and gleefully linked her arm with Shen Lichuan’s. “The baby is fine, just angered by Liancheng.”
“What did she anger you about? Is the doctor still here?” Shen Lichuan led her towards the consultation room. “I’ll ask about the precautions so I can take better care of you in the future.”
The consultation room door closed again. The one who was causing trouble had left, but Liancheng felt even more suffocated.
The daylight-like lighting in the hospital made it difficult to see Liang Chaosu’s face clearly, his brow bone and eye sockets filled with shadows, making him terrifying.
“I really am on my period.” Intense guilt caused Liancheng to tremble all over, increasingly noticeably. “I came to see Bai Ying, not because I’m pregnant.”
Liang Chaosu stepped closer to her.
Bai Ying knew Liancheng had reached her limit and spread her arms to block him.
“They all say the Liang family has good upbringing, but today I’ve seen it. What a domineering and arrogant family. Liancheng is indeed not their biological daughter, but the Young Lady Liang curses and beats her, the Eldest Young Master Liang interrogates and pressures her, and they smear her with all sorts of filth. They force slander upon her, accusing the innocent. It’s as if they treat her as a slave to vent their anger on.”
Liang Chaosu’s gaze was gloomy. He glanced at her and irresistibly pulled Liancheng out.
Liancheng couldn’t resist his immense strength and fell into his arms. She almost convulsed. “Bai Ying—”
“Eldest Young Master Liang, others may fear you, but I don’t.” Bai Ying held tightly onto her other hand. “Liancheng has never wronged the Liang family, and you have no right to treat her so harshly.”
She seemed to recall something, and her expression turned grim. “Or was it that her fiancé from back then was designed by you and sent to Liang Wenfei’s bed? Now, consumed by guilt, knowing that what is stolen will always be stolen, and feeling insecure, you take all your anger out on her?”
