Chapter 26: Breakout
Without caring if he would expose himself, Chang Ning rolled sideways into the nearby grass without thinking.
At the same time, a bullet sent grass clippings flying from the spot where he had just been lying.
“Wolf Fang’s sniper!”
Right, how could Gao Zhong Dui’s squad possibly not have a sniper.

All these factors led to him being eliminated by Chang Ning, though Chang Ning’s sniper technique also played a role.
Thick blue smoke rose from his head. Miao Lang sat up with an embarrassed expression. He had actually been eliminated by a rookie.
“It’s over. When I get back, Wild Wolf will definitely send me back to the furnace.”
Miao Lang recalled his captain personally supervising training, and he felt uneasy all over.
“Chang Ning, prepare to retreat.” Chen Pai shouted loudly.

At most, a few comrades lost—bearable compared to fully eliminating Night Tiger Reconnaissance Company.
“We split up. Together, breakout is hard with our commotion. Blue Team reinforcements will surround us. Splitting improves breakout chances.”
Chen Guotao quickly explained to Chang Ning.
Clearly, he valued Chang Ning’s potential; otherwise, in this crisis, no time for explanations! Just issue orders for a private to obey.
“Got it, Platoon Leader. You go first; I’ll cover the rear!”
Chang Ning wasn’t playing hero; he wasn’t foolish enough to charge tiger mountain knowing tigers lurked, without aces up his sleeve.

After fist-bumping Chang Ning, Chen Guotao hurriedly led the men away. As commander, he knew to judge and prioritize. In this wolf-front-tiger-rear situation, leaving a warrior like Chang Ning with excellent sniper technique to cover rear was beneficial.
