Chapter 51: Himeko’s Research Progress
As expected, all three obtained red top-tier eight trials.
Actually, if any of them came alone, each would be sufficient for the Sea God to issue the Sea God’s Nine Trials, but unfortunately they came together. In comparison, the Sea God favored March 7th more.
Zhu Zhuqing was first enhanced in her Martial Spirit origin by Dan Heng, then underwent ice-fire body refinement, and now clearly had the potential for becoming a god.
Encountering four seedlings who could become gods all at once, the Sea God was overjoyed. One of them was his own, another was probably favored by Destruction, and for the remaining two, he could ask the other gods if they wanted any.
He remembered that the God of War had been searching for an inheritor for thousands of years without success. What good things could he exchange with him?
He hoped that when the Pioneer Squad ran away, the Sea God’s inheritor slots hadn’t been traded away yet, otherwise…
The four’s first trials were similar, all crossing the Sea God’s Light, with the quantity varying slightly based on trial level and strength.
Star was at one thousand levels, March at nine hundred levels, Meng Huaifeng at eight hundred levels, and Zhu Zhuqing at three hundred sixty levels.
The four briefly experienced it. Except for Zhu Zhuqing, they could all complete it immediately if they wanted.
However, no one wanted to complete it, merely tasting it lightly.
Meng Huaifeng, March 7th, and Star first toured Sea God Island completely, then used fully completing the divine trial as an excuse to play around on Sea God Island.
Zhu Zhuqing only asked everyone to call her when leaving and didn’t join in the fun. Instead, she raced against time to cultivate in the Sea God’s Light.
Although she couldn’t complete the first trial immediately, she discovered it was a great place for quickly improving strength.
Having previously witnessed the heaven-destroying, earth-shattering battle between Star and the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, Zhu Zhuqing, deeply feeling her own weakness, had an unprecedentedly strong will to become stronger.
The three couldn’t persuade her, so they could only sigh on one side while reassuring themselves on the other.
I’m not playing, I’m pioneering. Every unknown place I walk through advances me a bit on the Pioneer Destiny!
So, I’m also becoming stronger!
The three played even more at ease.
Seven cities, Ring Sea, Fury Wave Desperate Situation—Sea God Island wasn’t small, with several wondrous sights alone. The three spent a full half month leisurely touring everywhere.
During this time, they also met quite a few people, like the seven sacred pillars of Sea God Island. March 7th even became friends with the mermaid sea witch.
Zhu Zhuqing’s efforts bore fruit, successfully advancing one level. Though this improvement seemed negligible in the Pioneer Squad’s eyes, they still offered her blessings.
That night, the four gathered furtively by the seaside.
“Are we really not saying goodbye to our new friends?” March 7th felt a bit reluctant.
“If we say goodbye, can we still leave easily?” Meng Huaifeng counter-questioned.
“March, you don’t want to cross blades with new friends, right?” Star said in Japanese daily speech.
“Oh come on, this lady knows of course, but leaving without saying goodbye feels a bit bad.” March 7th rolled her eyes at the two.
“Given Sea God Island’s faith in the Sea God, if we abandon the trials, we’ll probably be enemies next time we meet,” Zhu Zhuqing exposed the cruel reality.
“No choice then. I don’t want to be any Sea God in this world. Should I dispel that mark now?” March 7th said helplessly.
“Let’s go first. When dawn breaks and they realize we’re gone, then dispel it,” Meng Huaifeng said.
This half month, they weren’t just playing. Meng Huaifeng and Star successfully mastered stepping on water.
March 7th and Star could just fly, but not fast. In comparison, running on the sea surface allowed borrowing a bit of force from the feet, making the speed faster.
Opening the mobile phone navigation, Star carried Zhu Zhuqing, and the four ran toward the continent direction.
The four’s speed was no less than a car, reaching the continent in one night.
The three respectively used Imaginary Energy to dispel the trial marks left by the Sea God. Star also conveniently dispelled the Destruction God’s mark, while Zhu Zhuqing’s mark was dispelled by March 7th.
God Realm, the Sea God suddenly froze.
“What’s wrong, Sea God? When will you take me to see my future inheritor?” A tall man in armor beside the Sea God said.
“Something happened. Here’s your stuff back!” The Sea God returned the treasure he had just obtained to the God of War and coldly returned to the divine temple.
The Sea God communicated his divine sense to the lower realm and instantly learned that everything on Sea God Island was as usual, with no battle occurring. That meant they weren’t dead, but had somehow shielded or dispelled his marks.
Soon after, the four Titled Douluo guarding the sacred pillars each led some people away from Sea God Island toward the continent.
Huh? They clearly didn’t do any bad deeds, so why was the Pioneer Squad already being chased by two major forces?
No, counting Welt’s side, it was three forces.
Stellar Train.
Himeko rarely emerged from the laboratory, elegantly sitting on the sofa sipping coffee.
“Himeko, how’s the research? Any leads?” Welt asked.
“I already have leads. Conventional wormhole stabilization methods can’t stabilize a wormhole in one or two seconds; it must borrow Pioneer Power,” Himeko swirled her coffee, took a light sip, and said with narrowed eyes.
“To connect two worlds via an unstable wormhole is like tying two oppositely speeding cars with a rope. Besides the rope being sturdy, the cars must be tied tight enough, or the rope will snap.”
“The Silver Rail is the rope I need to use, propping up the wormhole and tying the two worlds tight. I’m not worried about the Silver Rail network on the other side; mainly this side. I don’t know how much Silver Rail is needed to tie two worlds without snapping—anyway, like before, the more the better.”
“As for the Silver Rail segment propping the wormhole, it needs special laying, using as much Pioneer Power and fuel as possible to strengthen its strength. Silver Rail alone isn’t enough here; mainly use it to buy time, extending the wormhole’s one second to dozens of seconds or even minutes, then apply wormhole stabilization technology to fully stabilize it.”
Himeko’s research was basically mature overall, with the rest being technical iterations for lower consumption and faster speed.
“You’ve worked hard,” Welt said.
“You’ve had it tough too. Has the God Realm given up yet?” Himeko asked.
“No.” Welt smiled bitterly and shook his head: “And more are blockading. Several times we escaped via warp jump. They probably have countermeasures soon.”
Warp jump isn’t omnipotent; it requires reaching a certain speed to activate. Now the God Realm was trying to slow the Stellar Train.
“Why not go to the God Realm and beat them all into submission? You should have that strength,” Himeko’s eyes flashed with sly amusement.
Only in front of Welt did Himeko occasionally show a bit of girlish playfulness.
“Forget it, wouldn’t that make the enmity worse?” Welt didn’t want to do such thankless work.
Without killing, challenging the entire God Realm sounded troublesome just thinking about it.
If the God Realm folks realized he wouldn’t kill, they’d fight even more recklessly, which would be even more headache-inducing.
Better to stall for now.
Per reader family suggestions, some toxic points in the previous text were slightly modified. Major changes affect too much and might cause inconsistencies, impacting reading experience, so no big changes were made.
1.1 version weakened God King combat power, placing God Kings in advanced Pathfinders, as the ceiling.
Blurred levels between Pathfinders; combat power gaps between Pathfinders are too vast, so the universe roughly divided levels artificially—there’s no clear boundary in reality.
Slightly enhanced Star and March’s performance, surpassing Titled Douluo.
