Chapter 11: Attacks Full Of Aggressiveness
Chen Mian always felt that something was off, but he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was. After all, Jiang Ce spoke so convincingly, so Su Da Yong must have really sent a dream message, yet he still felt like something was unreasonable somewhere.
However, Mr. Su was meeting Jiang Ce for the first time, so he wasn’t as familiar with him as Chen Mian was, and he didn’t notice anything wrong either.
On the contrary, he felt a twinge of guilt for having just angrily scolded Jiang Ce. In his heart, Jiang Ce had already become the image of a warm-hearted good Samaritan.
“Then it’s settled. Mr. Su, you go ahead and take care of the old man’s aftermath. Once this is over, I’ll go with you to your house to see what’s really going on. I have some things I can’t tell you for now, so I hope you don’t take offense. The old man specifically instructed that some things aren’t good for you to know. You understand, right?”
Jiang Ce smiled apologetically.
Mr. Su naturally understood the implication, knowing it was for his own good, and he didn’t have any particular thoughts about it. He just nodded: “I understand. Then I’ll trouble you. Sorry for dragging you into this.”
“No problem.” Jiang Ce waved his hand: “The farewell ceremony is almost over anyway. Let’s go.”
Because the corpse’s appearance was too horrifying, except for the head, the body’s parts were covered with cloth, so although the guests felt the body was somewhat emaciated, they didn’t pay too much attention. Everything proceeded very normally.
Until Mr. Su held up the urn with a complicated expression, the entire process was finally declared successfully completed.
Seeing the body cremated so smoothly, Chen Mian also breathed a sigh of relief. Originally, based on his understanding, a corpse with such heavy resentment might take several hours to burn and might not even succeed, but unexpectedly it ended in half an hour.
After taking one last look at the urn, Mr. Su handed the urn to the staff, entrusted the subsequent matters to his wife, told her he had something to handle and would go over later for the burial.
His wife was puzzled but saw that his complexion wasn’t good, so she didn’t ask more, just nodded and reminded him to be careful on the road.
Afterward, Jiang Ce and Mr. Su hurried home.
Chen Mian originally wanted to go too, but another body arrived that needed handling, so he stayed at the funeral home. Jiang Ce was also happy he didn’t go, to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Mr. Su drove himself. Before he could help open the passenger door, Jiang Ce slipped into the back seat and slumped in the chair.
The feeling of reasonably skipping work was really great. Jiang Ce thought contentedly.
Seeing that Jiang Ce had his own ideas, Mr. Su didn’t say much more and got into the driver’s seat and started the car.
“By the way, Jiang… uh, sorry.”
“Jiang Ce. Just call me Little Jiang.”
“How could I? Brother Jiang Ce, we were talking business earlier, I haven’t even introduced myself. I’m Su Feng. Thanks for really helping out this time.”
“No trouble. The old man and I hit it off right away. It’s what I should do.”
“To be honest, the moment I first saw you, I felt we really clicked.”
“Average. I’ve gained some weight these past two years. Back when there was no meat to eat, I wasn’t this round.”
“Ah?”
The two chatted idly and soon arrived at the destination.
Su Feng’s home was in a villa district, which could also be considered middle class. This also explained why Su Da Yong usually liked playing with antiques and was so knowledgeable about cultural relics.
As soon as he got out of the car, Jiang Ce keenly perceived something wrong.
“Your home… isn’t this villa, right? It should be the one opposite?”
“How did you know?” Su Feng was closing the car door and paused upon hearing this: “We don’t have enough parking spots at home, so I bought a spot from the neighbor. This house really isn’t mine.”
“Nothing.” Jiang Ce shook his head: “The old man told me.”
“I see.” Su Feng now trusted Jiang Ce even more. He even knew where they lived, so the dream message thing must be absolutely true.
Su Da Yong naturally hadn’t told Jiang Ce these things, but after stepping onto the cultivation path, Jiang Ce’s senses had become much sharper, and his perception of auras had also become extremely sensitive. He could see at a glance that the villa opposite was faintly shrouded in faint black qi.
That black qi was filled with greed and malice. Jiang Ce was almost certain that the ghost monster hiding in the bronze statue was definitely not as simple as an ordinary ghost.
However, facing the challenge, what Jiang Ce thought was: if he had known this trick back at the public cemetery, he definitely could have spotted that the woman in red was a ghost, and maybe even hidden in the dark to scare it, unlocking the achievement of human scaring ghost.
Entering the villa, Jiang Ce found that the black qi in the house was even denser.
It looked like the black qi outside was more like it couldn’t contain it and spilled out from the house.
Perceiving the flow of the black qi, Jiang Ce walked toward a certain direction with a very clear goal, as if he had returned to his own home.
Su Feng couldn’t perceive the black qi’s existence. Although puzzled, he didn’t say much and just closely followed Jiang Ce. Soon, Jiang Ce arrived in front of a room and was about to push open the room door.
But Su Feng suddenly reminded him: “Brother Jiang Ce, you’re going the wrong way. This is my son’s room. The bronze statue is in the study where my dad stored antiques.”
Jiang Ce was stunned: “Don’t tell me your son is home and didn’t go to the funeral.”
Hearing this, Su Feng also realized the severity of the problem and stammered: “It was too early. After my dad died, my son was heartbroken all night. He cried himself to sleep when leaving in the morning, so we didn’t wake him.”
At this moment, he also knew that his father’s death might really be related to the bronze statue. If the bronze statue wasn’t satisfied after his father died and wanted to harm others, then…
Su Feng didn’t dare think further and suddenly pushed open the room door.
Sure enough, that bronze statue was quietly lying on the pillow next to the soundly sleeping boy.
But what Su Feng couldn’t see was that in Jiang Ce’s vision, a dense black qi that was almost substantializing was emanating from the bronze statue as the center, forming a huge ghost face in the air.
That ghost face was using its sharp teeth to tear at the milky white faint light around the boy, feasting voraciously, just as cruel and greedy as a vulture gutting a dead animal.
Although Su Feng was a bit nervous, since he couldn’t see these scenes, he was only somewhat worried.
He planned to go take the bronze statue and give it to Jiang Ce, but was grabbed by Jiang Ce.
“Shut up!”
Jiang Ce roared, startling not only Su Feng but also scaring the feeding ghost face. Strangely, with such a loud noise, the boy on the bed never woke up from beginning to end.
The ghost face suddenly turned its face and stared straight at Jiang Ce.
“Hungry hungry…”
It stared at Jiang Ce like a child seeing a new toy. Surprisingly, green light emanated from its two hollow eye sockets, and as its big mouth opened and closed, it emitted a eerie friction sound that only Jiang Ce could hear.
“Wh-what’s wrong?” Su Feng turned back and asked nervously.
At this time, the ghost face approached, passing straight through Su Feng’s body, opening its big mouth as if threatening Jiang Ce.
“So hungry so hungry”
In Jiang Ce’s eyes, Su Feng and the ghost face overlapped, with only a head protruding from the ghost face’s mouth, as if the moment it closed its mouth, Su Feng’s neck would be bitten off.
Faced with this situation, Jiang Ce’s expression was extremely ugly.
From as far back as he could remember, he had never been threatened!
All thoughts of knowing yourself and your enemy, showing weakness to deceive the enemy, pulling the firewood from under the pot, luring the tiger away from the mountain, openly repairing the plank roads while secretly crossing the Chencang Pass were thrown out of Jiang Ce’s mind. His head was filled with only one phrase.
No one can threaten me, Jiang Ce. No one!
He took a deep breath and, under Su Feng’s puzzled gaze, slowly opened his mouth:
“Look at your ugly mug and you still have the nerve to open your big dog-licker mouth like a fucking simp and eat eat eat? Hiding in the bronze statue, can’t afford a graveyard? You’re such a failure even as a ghost, I don’t even dare imagine what a loser you were alive! Can’t even say a full sentence after half a day, just hungry hungry hungry, why don’t you go die? Brain-dead idiot, is it a language disorder or do you lack the ability to organize words? I thought you were related to the genie when I first heard about you, but nah, genie? Pussy god! You’re just a der now! Please, can you stop with that hooker spinning green light in your eyes? You from the two-dimensional world or what, fucking highlights in your eyes, or did you get hit by a car to death because you wanted to be two-dimensional? Eat the old man then the kid, bullying the weak like your disabled mom, if you can’t, find a wheelchair and go check out some feng shui treasure spot and off yourself!”
