Chapter 3: Registering The Company
Late at night, inside Dormitory 301.
“Damn it, after four years of university, today I finally truly got to know Second Brother.”
“Shut up, you’ve been talking all damn night!”
“What do you know? Second Brother’s aura was explosive back then, scaring me so much I didn’t even dare to fart.”
“Shut up and go to sleep!”
The last shout came from Boss Li Jian.
As expected of the Boss, only after he spoke did the originally noisy dormitory quiet down.
“But did Second Brother really say that today?”
“Whoa! Of course he did? I heard Brother Fan back then…”
“Urp!”
“Bad! He’s puking again, quick!”
Immediately, Boss, Fourth Brother, and Liu Jun, who was just about to excitedly proclaim Fan Ren’s heroic deed from today again, hurriedly got up and rushed toward Fan Ren.
In four years of university, it was Fan Ren’s first time drinking until he passed out.
Before this, although he often drank too much, he had some self-control and wouldn’t drink once he reached his limit, no matter who tried to persuade him.
However, today, whether due to the sadness of parting or some other reason, Fan Ren got himself drunk for the first time, collapsing directly onto the table.
The next day, Fan Ren was shaken awake by Li Jian.
“Eat something first. After eating, don’t sleep; the more you sleep, the more your head will hurt. Remember that. Third Brother went home. He’ll come back for the last alumni gathering next week. I’ll go with Fourth Brother to the job fair.”
After saying that, Li Jian put on a jacket that made him look more mature and walked out the door with Lin Chang, who had become much quieter.
“It really turned into a father-son duo.”
Fan Ren muttered, rubbed his groggy head, and started getting up to wash up.
After eating the food brought back by his “godfather,” Fan Ren forced himself to sit at his computer desk despite the fatigue.
All the brothers had started planning for their futures, and this dormitory had only one week left of use; all the seniors had to move out of school by then.
Whether finding their own path or inheriting the family business, in any case, their nearly twenty years of student life had come to a close.
Along the way, Fan Ren’s path of study had been very difficult.
From orphanage life in his childhood to picking up trash everywhere to earn living expenses starting from junior high school.
Then in high school, being helped every few days by teachers of various subjects.
After entering university, although he won many competition prizes and scholarships, because he had student loans to repay, he planned to save them all for paying back the loans and didn’t dare to touch a single cent.
As for the money he earned from part-time jobs, he and Xu Min had spent it all over these years.
Fan Ren pulled out his second-hand mobile phone bought for 500 yuan and opened online banking.
70,000 yuan.
He breathed a sigh of relief; this was all his assets now.
The student loan would be paid off in 10 years, so his life wouldn’t be as destitute as before in the short term.
What path should he take next?
If time went back to before breaking up with Xu Min, Fan Ren had a clear cognition of his future positioning.
Attend the job fair; with his excellent performance over four years of university, he should be able to get a good job opportunity.
With some more effort doing part-time jobs, he was confident he could let Xu Min live a good life within three years.
But now it was different.
It sounded a bit chuunibyou, but as Fan Ren reflected on his more than twenty years, he suddenly realized he had no more attachments.
The brothers all had their own paths to walk; what about him?
In his mind, that panel labeled “Seed of Civilization” still existed.
Life was already so bleak; he might as well live it spectacularly.
Whether high-voltage wireless charging technology or graphene chip technology, in the current era, either could achieve a groundbreaking career.
Why go work at an enterprise and live that corporate slave life?
A plan gradually formed in his mind, and Fan Ren quietly started getting busy.
As for his roommates, Boss was extremely opinionated and definitely had plans long ago. Third Brother didn’t need worrying about. Fourth Brother would only consider renting a house after his job was settled.
Shaking his head with a bitter smile, only he had to consider these things in advance.
Fan Ren found a storefront house on the edge of the suburbs on his mobile phone.
As a city ranking among the top in the domestic economy, even though it was far enough from the city center, the rent was still as high as 2,000 yuan per month.
The advantage was that this house was a two-story small building; the three rooms and one bathroom on the second floor could be used for living.
He made an appointment to view the house later. Fan Ren wasn’t one to dawdle, so he packed up right away and headed out.
Lin Chang was a rural only child, spoiled by his parents at home and taken care of by his “godfather” at university, so he had always been somewhat timid in personality, which was also why Li Jian was taking him to the job fair.
As for him, Fan Ren, he had been wandering alone since childhood, so he preferred to handle these things by himself.
After spending an afternoon, the house was finally settled. It was a twenty-minute drive from school, not too far.
After signing the contract and paying three months’ deposit plus one month’s rent, totaling 8,000 yuan, he took the keys and lay sprawled alone on the bed in the second-floor bedroom that hadn’t yet been fitted with sheets.
This was the first space in his life that truly belonged to him alone.
Although there were spiderwebs on the ceiling, the bed creaked and wobbled, and the furniture outside was old and worn.
But Fan Ren still felt a great sense of satisfaction.
After an unknown amount of time, Fan Ren arranged for broadband installation before reluctantly returning to school.
In the dormitory, the brothers hadn’t returned yet, and Fan Ren had no time to rest.
According to his plan, he first needed his own company before he could consider monetizing the technology he had.
The money in his account was just enough. Fan Ren opened the business registration website and started the series of registration processes.
After expending quite a few brain cells, he registered his first company under his name as “Xinghai Technology.”
Pretty chuunibyou.
Registered capital fifty thousand yuan.
When he received the official seal and all the relevant documents, Fan Ren felt somewhat dazed.
At this point, after transferring fifty thousand yuan into the company’s dedicated account, he had only a little over ten thousand left on him.
Every expenditure from the company’s account had to withstand review, of course, without ruling out creative accounting methods, but that would defeat the purpose of him registering the company in the first place.
Moreover, the next step was for him to DIY a high-voltage wireless charging equipment. That bit of money wasn’t even enough to buy materials.
With a try-it-out attitude, Fan Ren took the relevant materials and applied for a university student entrepreneurship startup loan at the local bank.
He had all the necessary qualifications, entrepreneurship project, and unit; the 200,000 yuan loan soon arrived in the company account.
In the hustle and bustle, a week passed quickly. Lin Chang’s job application seemed not going very smoothly.
On the contrary, Li Jian, who hadn’t mentioned his plans, got the news he wanted.
Liu Jun drove his sedan back to the dormitory, dragging his fatigued body. The busy four rarely gathered again in the dormitory.
Fan Ren looked at his bro’s listless appearance and curiously asked, “Third Brother, what’s up with you?”
Liu Jun lay depressed on the bed, shook his head, and explained the situation.
In their family, he was the eldest; there was also a younger brother above him. His birth mother had divorced his father long ago, and this younger brother was from his stepmother.
Usually, the brothers teased that the money in their family could last him several lifetimes, and that wasn’t wrong.
As the legitimate eldest son, in their view, wasn’t this the perfect setup for inheriting the family business?
But obviously, the messy affairs of big families were beyond their expectations.
This time going back, Liu Jun had been arranged by his father for a blind date.
In his words, compared to Liu Xinyue, the other party even seemed elegant and refined.
He naturally rejected it, leading to a big argument with the family.
It was because the other party was the only daughter of a large enterprise; if the marriage alliance succeeded, the Liu Family’s development could go to the next level.
But he really couldn’t accept a marriage without relationship, let alone the other party’s looks being something that could make him wake up in the middle of the night with eyes wide open in a nightmare.
The weirdest part came: his stepmother actually discussed with his father to introduce this match to his younger brother.
Although the other party was three years older than his younger brother—his brother Liu Neng was 19, the other party 22.
But unbelievably, the matter was settled just like that.
Liu Jun could feel his father’s disappointment in him and also knew the consequences of his choice.
He didn’t say it, but the few in the dormitory immediately realized.
Good grief, such magical drama in a wealthy family?
“In short, probably, perhaps, maybe bros won’t be able to mooch off you anymore?”
Over there, Lin Chang posed the soul-searching question.
Because he noticed Liu Jun hadn’t driven back.
“No way, blood is thicker than water.” Li Jian stroked the small mustache at his mouth, puzzled.
Liu Jun sighed and nodded: “We broke off. The old man cut off my card.”
He then glared at Lin Chang irritably: “That damn thing is two yuan per kilometer; do you think I can still afford to drive it?”
Fan Ren sighed along; every family has its own problems.
“I’m going to enlist!”
Li Jian’s words interrupted the group’s sighs, just see him taking out a certificate from the cabinet, several people grabbed it and took a look, and were dumbfounded.
After seeing it, Fan Ren exclaimed in surprise, “Holy shit, Boss, you’ve been holding this in lately, busy with this thing?”
Li Jian nodded: “While young, I want to temper myself. Hey, with our university student identity plus this physique, I passed easily.”
After saying that, he lifted his shirt to show everyone his eight-pack abs.
