Chapter 49: Giant Boar In The Forest
Perhaps the food they brought was too good, or maybe they had gone too deep into the forest. While the group was resting under the shade of trees, a series of snorting sounds came from the distant shrubbery, getting closer and closer.
Such an unmasked movement naturally alerted the five. They stood up and quickly discovered that what emerged from the forest was a gray wild boar.
“Probably around 400 pounds.” Mike licked his lips, excitement in his eyes.
“I’ll handle it.” He stopped Karen and Xilutiya who were preparing to shoot arrows.
“Good.” Xilutiya lowered her longbow.
After receiving permission and approval, Mike held his sword and crouched low as he advanced, not wanting to alert the prey prematurely.
Soon, under the gazes of the group, Mike approached the wild boar, then suddenly leaped up. He kicked off several tree trunks in mid-air for momentum, avoiding the complex jagged stones and branches and leaves below, gripping his sword as he dove straight at the wild boar.
Startled, the wild boar panicked and tried to turn and flee, but its four legs slipped momentarily, failing to adjust immediately. Instead, it stumbled on the ground and lost balance.
Seizing this perfect opportunity, Mike gripped his sword and stabbed diagonally into the wild boar’s side neck, directly piercing its windpipe.
After being attacked, the wild boar struggled desperately. The force from its 400-pound body was something even Mike couldn’t fully control, so he could only temporarily evade it. Due to the damaged windpipe, the wild boar bled profusely as it charged into the depths of the shrubbery.
“It won’t get far.” Mike quickly gave chase, with the others following close behind.
The group followed this tenaciously vital wild boar, weaving through the forest. It wasn’t until more than ten minutes later that it finally collapsed from exhaustion.
“Phew, this guy is finally dead.” Komiya remarked that hunting was way too exhausting.
“How are we going to get such a huge wild boar back?” Xilutiya lightly tapped her chin with her finger, feeling it was tricky.
“We can only have Mike and Lei drag it back.” Karen thought for a moment.
“We’ll probably need to pad some things underneath to reduce friction.” She now understood quite a bit of basic physics knowledge.
The group approached the dead wild boar, preparing to process this prey.
“Wait.” Xilutiya suddenly stopped.
“What’s wrong, Tiya?” Komiya asked, puzzled.
“This is bad.” The maiden in the black hunting outfit and short skirt gripped her longbow, her gaze turning to one side of the forest.
Sure enough, shortly after she spoke, a heavy running sound came, accompanied by the noise of trees being snapped.
“What is that?” Karen also noticed the anomaly.
“Let’s go!” Xilutiya warned, urging everyone to leave quickly.
The group knew something was wrong and began to retreat, but before they could run far, a giant wild boar burst out of the forest and into their view.
This giant wild boar had coarse, dense bristles, stood as tall as the elephant in Xilutiya’s memory, and weighed several tons. Its two long fangs protruded, covered in soil and grass debris. With a simple shake, it knocked down trees along the way and flung stones aside.
After spotting the dead ‘small’ wild boar in the woodland, the giant wild boar’s eyes turned red. It let out a low roar, with surging hot air spilling from its mouth like a steam whistle.
“Oh no, that wild boar earlier might have been its little baby.” Komiya said in a crying tone.
“A 400-pound baby is indeed pretty small.” Mike complained.
“No point talking about that now. I killed the pig, so I’ll lure it away. You all hurry and escape.”
“No, it’s too dangerous for you alone. This is a fang beast that has condensed a first order nature.” Karen stopped him.
Fang Beast: If a wild beast condenses a first order nature, it is called a fang beast, because such beasts often have powerful fangs or sharp teeth.

“You all go ahead!” Among the group, Komiya was already struggling to run, only keeping up thanks to Karen pulling her along.
In response, Karen had no time to thank him. She nodded to Mike as she passed, then pulled Komiya and dashed away with all her strength.
On the other side, Lei was also running with great difficulty.
