Chapter 23: Beyond The Mountain
After getting the werewolf’s confirmation, Su Ran directly let go and threw the trash in her hand down.
The benefit shown from here is that even the trash is pollution-free, so it can be thrown away directly without worrying about pollution issues.
After throwing away that bag of stuff, Su Ran changed to a posture of holding the werewolf’s neck with both hands.
After being carried by the werewolf flying for a while, Su Ran began to feel that the werewolf’s flying height was getting higher and higher, and the speed was also starting to increase.
The wind at high speed blew her hair into a mess, so she could only turn her head and rest her chin on the werewolf’s shoulder, facing behind them to open her eyes.
After being carried by the werewolf in flight for about twenty minutes, Su Ran discovered that the forest below her feet began to slowly change.
The leaves of the trees in this sea of trees were a deeper color, so the entire sea of trees presented a nearly black ink green. The trees here seemed a bit shorter compared to those in the bird’s nest forest.
Moreover…
The more Su Ran looked, the more she felt that the sea of trees below her looked somewhat familiar. Thinking of this, she suddenly lifted her head from the werewolf’s shoulder and turned to look ahead of them.
At the first glance when she turned her head, she first saw a mountain!
The mountain range stretched endlessly toward both sides of the continent, with no end in sight. As far as the eye could see, there was almost no break in the entire mountain range.
This was the mountain she had found when she first arrived in this world! She had even already seen the river not far from the foot of the mountain!
Although it had only been two days, seeing this mountain again at this time still made Su Ran’s heart somewhat excited.
She had entered this world from this place, so she had always thought that if she wanted to return to her original world, she would probably need to come back to this place first.
And after being brought by the werewolf to the bird’s nest forest, she thought she would never find this place again!
The werewolf holding her seemed to notice her excited emotion.
The werewolf tightened its arm around Su Ran and let out a soft “Ao wu” toward her, with a hint of tension in its voice.
But Su Ran, immersed in the excitement of finding the entry point, did not notice.
The werewolf carried her flying a bit higher, allowing Su Ran to see the scene below more fully.
And after they flew over the very top of the mountain range, a brand new scenery suddenly unfolded before Su Ran.
The azure seawater stretched endlessly, huge reefs dotted the beach, and waves crashed against the reefs, sending bursts of sound.
Su Ran suddenly felt that after flying over this mountain, the taste of the air seemed to change all at once.
The air filled with the scent of moist soil and fresh plant sap suddenly turned into the salty taste of seawater.
After crossing the mountain range, the land area was left with only a small patch.
It was also covered with vegetation and trees, and the trees seemed different from the forest on the other side of the mountain range.
But similarly, this forest was also lush and green, stretching along the foot of the mountain range to both sides, leaving only a white line-like beach near the seaside.
Looking back at the mountain behind them now, Su Ran suddenly felt it was a bit strange and very special.
The position where this mountain rose abruptly perfectly separated the coast from the land inside, and it was so close to the coast.
It was like encircling the land world inside the mountain.
If there were a tsunami here, as long as it wasn’t a super tsunami like in doomsday movies, the seawater could never reach the other side of the mountain range!
In other words, the creatures living on the other side of the mountain range would never suffer from the natural disaster of seawater flooding in.
The werewolf carried Su Ran and landed on a flat and spacious beach.
The ground under her feet was very hard, and the sand and gravel washed out by the seawater was a bit painful to step on.
After landing, the werewolf first threw the white-headed sheep onto the ground, then twisted its neck and lifted its arms, moving its stiff body.
Then it looked into the distance, turned its head to call out to Su Ran, and reached out to pull her wrist, walking toward a place with reefs.
Su Ran let the werewolf pull her along, lowering her head to glance at the multi-functional watch on her wrist. It had taken them just over half an hour to fly from the bird’s nest forest here.
They walked toward the reefs, and the closer they got, the more black gravel there was on the ground. When they reached near the reefs, Su Ran discovered that on the sea surface on the other side of the reefs, there was a thick layer of the purplish-black kelp that the werewolf had brought back.
Seeing this large patch of kelp, the werewolf flicked the tip of its tail and looked at Su Ran with eyes full of expectation.
What a silly dog.
The werewolf’s gaze showed no concealment at all, just short of writing on its left and right eyes:
“Do you like this huge patch of kelp~”Can we go roast meat now?”
But the time was indeed not early anymore.
Not to mention the werewolf, Su Ran’s own belly was already rumbling with hunger.
“Then let’s fill our bellies first!”
Su Ran nodded vigorously at the werewolf, conveying her meaning.
Then she saw the werewolf “whoosh!” erect its fluffy ears, even the hair strands on top of its head revealing impatience.
However, even so, the werewolf still did not leave the reef, but squatted behind Su Ran, silently watching her actions from behind.
Su Ran jumped from the reef under her feet to a slightly shorter reef nearby. From here, as long as she squatted down, she could grab a handful of kelp.
She grabbed a handful directly from the sea and put it on the reef to select, throwing away those that were already too old.
Then she stretched her head to carefully look into the crevices of several nearby reefs.
She remembered that many shellfish and snails in the sea liked to live in such reef crevices.
Although the species here were very different from those in her original world, their general physiological characteristics and habits still had many similarities.
If she could find some, her recipe here should expand immediately.
However, disappointingly, after crossing several large reefs in a row, she found nothing, not even a dead fish.
Su Ran turned back somewhat disappointedly.
As a result, when she turned around, she saw that across a few reefs, the werewolf was still squatting on the initial reef. Seeing Su Ran turn back, it tilted its head, and its ears on top moved accordingly.
This guy actually knew to pad its fluffy big tail under its butt as a cushion.
If the werewolf wasn’t still in its naked wild running appearance, its current good student obedient sitting look seemed inexplicably cute.
Su Ran jumped down from the reef and waved at the werewolf while walking toward the beach.
She had found enough kelp, now she needed the werewolf to process the white-headed sheep mutton first, and she also needed to go to the woods to find some firewood for making fire, and by the way see if there were other useful things in the woods.
